SlingsHOT
Gecco.89quiero!
Tea Cup SlingsHOT, a design concept by Samir Sufi, seems like a smart idea. A built in groove lets you pull the teabag tight against the edge of the cup to squeeze liquid out of the bag and keep it out of the water when you think your tea is ready. Hope this will go into production!
On Copycats
Earlier today, I opened a package that entailed a product sample of our biggest and most blatant Tattly copycat. Seeing them online is one thing, holding the actual product in my hands, another. After a rollercoaster ride of emotions, I arrived at the sentiment expressed in the above animated gif. Team Tattly on the left. Copycat on the right.
Yup, we are better dancers.
Strike: The Average Matchbox Gets a New Look
We kinda squealed with delight upon seeing the latest to come from Danish design house HAY. The brand worked with one of their regulars, Swedish designer Clara von Zweigbergk, and American product designer Shane Schneck to rethink the boring matchbox in a collaboration called Strike.
Where once the striking area was just plain functional, it’s now part of the design pattern on each box.
They’re available in seven different sized, eye-catching colored boxes that you won’t be embarrassed to have sitting out on your counter.
Bear House by Onion
Bear House is a minimal home located in Cha-Am Beach, Thailand, designed by Onion. The architecture firm knowingly named their practice after a vegetable as a way to prove their style of being memorable and unique. They are specialized in working on both residential and commercial projects promoting a modern yet individualistic styling.
The clients requested to renovate their three-story home around their prized-possession: Be@rbrick figurines. The renovation includes an exhibition space specifically designed to showcase the Be@rbricks, with enough space to house 17 figurines. The home mixes sterile and clean aesthetics with warm and natural tones. Timber and oak can be seen paneling the floors, walls, and even the ceiling.
Better yet is the graffiti scattered across the walls, designed by Thai artists MMFK and P7, which gives the otherwise cold interior a playful personality. The architects described the home as a replica of the cabinets that enclose the bears, thus the ladders that can be seen sprawling from the ground floor to the roof, as well as the timber-made daybeds.

Lasso slippers
Made in Paris by a social enterprise providing work opportunities for people with special needs, the Lasso slippers, designed by Gaspard Tiné-Berès and Ruben Valensi, has now launched on Kickstarter.
Lasso is made from a single piece of wool-felt, a leather sole and a cotton lace. All materials are 100 % natural.
Simple to make, the pair of slippers comes flat-pack, with laces in five different colours. The slipper shape is created by lacing the edges of the felt together through pre-cut holes.
The Lasso campaign has been launched on Kickstarter on January 31 and almost 50% of its objective has already been raised. Help the Lasso team reach their funding goal and receive your own pair.

For the past 45 years, this tiny little home has stood strong against the Serbian winds, water, and weather that surround it. Balancing on a rock in the middle of the Drina River, the structure is located near the town of Bajina Basta, Serbia, and has become quite the attraction for visitors to the area.
The concept came one day in 1968 when a group of young swimmers needed a place to rest. They laid on a rock in the middle of the river, but as time went by, they wanted a more comfortable place to rest and began to place boards to lay on on top of the rock. As they wanted shelter from the sun, they began to build up, and the idea developed. The following year, one of the swimmers turned the rough idea into an actual construction project of this one-room home.

Sunken Observation Platform
Located in Vöcklabruck, Austria, this clever observation platform allows visitors to walk below the water's surface without getting them wet. Seen from a distance, it looks like that people are walking freely with his lower half part below the water surface.
