I finally figured out what the Tantibus reminds me of.
LrbeverThis is very true but the Nightwalker was a good guy.
It reminded me of the Deer God/Nightwalker from Princess Mononoke. Picture for reference: https://canime.files.wordpress.com/2012/03/princess-mononoke-05.jpg

I just got this small reference, thought I'd share.
LrbeverThat's very true!
After the mane 6 enter the Ponyville dream, Applejack sees a really small pony being chased by Opal and later shudders. It took me a while to figure out that she was remembering being AppleTeeny during the Zecora episode, and being horrified.

Debunking the Most Common Arguments Against Gay Marriage
LrbeverShe's good
Cristina Rad does a nice, swift job of tearing down the most common Christian arguments against LGBT rights:

Amazing, isn’t it, how the other side keeps using those arguments as if they have any merit?

Bacon Jam Quesadilla
Bacon Jam Quesadilla
To be honest, this recipe didn’t have much thought behind it. I had some leftover tortillas sitting in my pantry that I needed to eat, but with what? After taking a quick inventory of my fridge, I found a huge bag of cheese and a jar of Bacon Jam among some other non-favorable items. Cheese and bacon. That sounded like a fantastic combination to me, so I put together this quick little snack and nommed away. Yes, it was ooey, and quite gooey. Yes, it was awesome. Yes, I did have grease run down my chin. But that was a sacrifice I was willing to make.
Bacon Jam Quesadilla Ingredients
2 Flour Tortillas
1/2 Cup Mozzarella or Jack Cheese, shredded
3 Tbsp. (or more!) Bacon Jam or Bacon Skillet Spread
Directions
To assemble, spread the bacon jam on one tortilla, then place jam-side up on a buttered griddle or skillet over medium-low heat. Add the shredded cheese, then top with the other tortilla.
Cook on both sides, carefully flipping, until the tortilla is crispy on both sides and the cheese is melted. Sliced in to wedges and enjoy.

South Park Renewed Through 2019
LrbeverAt least Ponies will be ran until 2020 to counteract this news.
South Park has been renewed.

Comedy Central announced on Wednesday that it has ordered 30 more episodes of the longrunning animated TV show created by Trey Parker and Matt Stone. The renewal, which lasts through the end of the 23rd season in 2019, will see South Park cross 300 episodes.
Parker and Stone will write and direct every episode, Comedy Central said in a press release (via Variety).
“Nearly two decades later, South Park today remains as important and influential as any series on any platform and has become one of the most recognizable brands to ever come out of television," Comedy Central owner Viacom executive Doug Herzog said.
Herzog added that Viacom will "aggressively expand" the reach of South Park beyond just the TV show by way of new licensing deals across the globe. At E3 2015, Parker and Stone appeared on stage during Ubisoft's briefing to reveal the next game in the South Park series, called The Fractured But Whole.
South Park's 19th season, meanwhile, kicks off September 16.

Harry Shearer is returning to The Simpsons after all
Lrbeverhmmmmm

After announcing intentions to leave The Simpsons, Harry Shearer has signed a deal to return to the animated comedy.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Shearer’s deal “is the same as his fellow voice cast,” which is to say he’ll be on for two more years, with an option for another two (four in total). No other details were revealed, but the deal is estimated to be worth $300,000 per episode.
Shearer is an enormous part of the show, voicing Ned Flanders, Mr. Burns, Principal Skinner, Otto, Smithers and many others. The Simpsons has been on the air for 26 years, and with Shearer back, it looks like it’ll make the 30 year mark after all. When Shearer said he was departing back in May, an executive for the show said his characters would be recast, though it appears that’s no longer necessary.
The Simpsons Season 27 is scheduled for a September 27 premiere.

"The Art of Equestria" Book Gets a Cover
Lrbevercoooooooooool
The Art of Equestria book was announced a while back. The general idea behind this one is to highlight some of the art behind the scenes, showing off how different places around the world came to be, via concept art, scenes, and storyboards. As is the norm for Amazon listings, it didn't get it's cover until today, which you can view above.
Expect it to drop on October 13 of this year. Get the full description below, or just pick it up.

After Girl Scouts Reject $100,000 Anti-Transgender Donation, They Raise Far More Online
Lrbeveraweeeeeeeeeeeeeesome
The Girl Scouts of the USA have this great habit of doing everything right while the Boy Scouts of America still think gay adults deserve to be banned from leadership positions.

A few months ago, a donor made a $100,000 contribution to the Girl Scouts of Western Washington, but it came with a caveat:
… the donor asked us to return their gift unless we guaranteed that the money would not be used to help transgender girls.
That’s not the sort of bigotry they want any part of, so the group gave back the money. It couldn’t have been easy since that amount is “about one-quarter of what it raises each year to provide financial help for girls to go to camp and participate in other activities.” But they stuck by their principles:
“… Every girl is every girl,” Megan Ferland, CEO of the Girl Scouts of Western Washington, said in an interview Tuesday. “It was a sad decision, but it was not a difficult decision. There was no way I would be put in a situation of refusing a girl participating because of a gift. It was really that quick.”
As you’ve probably heard by now, the group wisely began a fundraising campaign to make up for the dirty money, and it’s been an incredible success. As I write this, they’ve raised more than $316,000.
“We are astounded,” [the local council's vice president of marketing and communications Kate] Dabe said. “We were prepared for a 30-day campaign. We raised our goal in a day.”
Part of me wishes there was a way to verify that someone did, in fact≤ try to make this donation. I don’t doubt the story, but religious conservatives (the type of people who would be opposed to money being used on transgender girls) have long criticized the Girl Scouts for their inclusive nature and ties with progressive groups. So what sort of person would give a huge donation to the Girl Scouts as long as they didn’t help all girls?
The group isn’t releasing any information about the donor, “citing privacy concerns,” but I hope reporters ask for at least a redacted email with the original demand. Just to verify all of this.
But, taking off the skeptic hat for a moment, what a wonderful story. I love that the group raised more than three times what the donor wanted to give them by not caving in to a bigoted stipulation.
We always knew bigotry doesn’t make any ethical sense. Sporadic fundraisers for Christian bakers aside, I hope this is part of a larger trend showing that it doesn’t make a lot of economic sense either.
Finally finished my Starlight Glimmer cosplay
