Rogue Trooper Returns This September for “Ghost Patrol”

by Steve Morris

Attention, soldier! A major new Rogue Trooper story is coming to 2000 AD later this year, as the team of Alex de Campi and Neil Edwards bring the Ghost Patrol to Nu-Earth!

Hot on the heels of this week’s first look at the Rogue Trooper film from director Duncan Jones, coming to screens in 2026 – jump onboard with 2000 AD the comic this September for the start of a massive new storyline! From the creative team of Alex de Campi and Neil Edwards, Ghost Patrol explores the history of the Genetic Infantryman project which created Rogue and his fellow G.I. comrades.

“Rogue Trooper: Ghost Patrol is an epic, action-filled dive into the secret history of the Genetic Infantrymen and the lost soldiers whose skills were used to build them,” reveals de Campi, who has written several stories for 2000 AD in the past few years, including the all-ages sci-fi adventure series Full Tilt Boogie.

As the co-writer of the acclaimed graphic novel MADI alongside Jones, de Campi also has an expert knowledge on all things Rogue. “If you are a Rogue fan of old, don’t worry,” she continues. “There are a ton of riffs on and references to classic Rogue stories… as well as to Duncan’s upcoming Rogue Trooper film.”

For Edwards, known for his work at 2000 AD as well as on properties including Spider-Man, Superman and Doctor Who, the opportunity to take on Rogue Trooper was impossible to pass up on. “Having the opportunity to work on Rogue Trooper is an absolute dream come true!” he tells us. “I really enjoy working on future war stories and getting to draw Rogue and all the future tech is fantastic – along with working with Alex, whose script is just super; with tons of action and twists and turns!”

Ghost Patrol is a perfect story for first-time fans of 2000 AD, interested in learning more about the character ahead of the movie. “You need to know absolutely zero about Rogue Trooper to get it,” de Campi explains. “This is (chad face) ‘chapter one, bro’ stuff”. Featuring huge action set-pieces and a new mystery which digs into the heart of Rogue Trooper, this is the storyline to get you briefed on the character and his world!

Beginning in September, Ghost Patrol will be part of a jump-on issue of 2000 AD which also features the return of much-loved streampunk fantasy series Brass Sun, as well as a major new storyline for Judge Dredd from creators Rob Williams and Henry Flint. If you’ve always wanted to try reading the sci-fi thrills of 2000 AD, this is the ideal place to start! 2000 AD Prog 2450 will be published on the 17th September, and is also available for digital readers via the 2000 AD App.

“Do you like big, big action-thrillers? On a remote, poisoned planet where there is only war? And heartstoppingly excellent Neil Edwards comic art? Then get into that chemsuit, recruit:, we’re going to Nu-Earth!”

Rogue Trooper: Ghost Patrol starts in 2000 AD Prog 2450, a special jump-on Prog releasing on the 17th September! Subscribe to 2000 AD today to reserve your copy!

Watch the Brushstrokes of Classical Landscapes Invade the Real World

by Katharine Trendacosta

In "Regular Division" shots of gardens inside greenhouses and domes all over the world mosaiced together. That would be trippy enough, but overlaying each shot is a magnified, high resolution paint stroke from a landscape. It gives the short film, which already whirls around in a dizzying circle, an extra surreal edge.
