The latest trend among dog owners in Taiwan looks just as funny as it sounds – square and round dog haircuts! Dogs, typically Poodles, are having the fur on their heads sculpted into perfect circles or squares, and the results are posted online in what might be the first “my dog has a rounder head than yours” competition ever.
The first records of dog grooming in the West are from the Elizabethan era (16th c.), but the French were the first to really embrace it. The Poodle was the official dog of the French court in the 1700’s, where dog-only salons also sculpted their fur in wild and extreme ways.

Bridgetomg i can't believe someone who would plant a glorified pipe bomb next to a small child would be so brazen as to flip the bird to a security camera. where are my vapors.

Here is cool and tough Boston Marathon bomber Dzhokhar Tsarnaev channeling late-90’s MuchMusic by flipping off the camera in his jail cell in July 2013.

Tattoo artist Brian Woo’s dad wanted him to be a doctor, but instead of textbooks, Woo began to experiment with tattoos at 13. Soon he was apprenticed at Shamrock Social Club in LA, where stars like the Sex Pistols, Tupac, and Johnny Depp have been tattooed and waiting lists can be over a year long.
The Doctor describes his technique as fine line black and grey. And the tattoo that made him famous? “A wolf made up of my constellations – the first time I used my signature circles and lines to create an image,” he told modernmet.

In a beautiful twist of fate, Sapphyre Johnson, a 3-year-old toddler in Tennessee who had both of her feet amputated when she was only one year old, has been given a cute puppy with whom she shares a special bond – the nine-week-old pup is missing one of his front paws as well.
Sapphyre was born with missing toes and fingers, and her feet were amputated so that she could be fitted with prosthetics free of charge by the Shriners hospital in Greenville, South Carolina. Her puppy, Lt. Dan (named after the character in Forest Gump), probably would have been euthanized had his previous owner, Karen Riddle, not realized that he could be the perfect companion for someone just like Sapphyre.

French art and graphic design duo Zim & Zou (previously featured here) continue to create such elaborate and colorful sculptures simply using pieces of paper or (when working for Hermès) leather that it’s hard to believe their exquisite pieces are entirely handmade. These photos are from some of their most recent personal pieces and commissioned installations, including the Cabinet de Curiosités, The Eternal Jungle, and the Museum of Supernatural History.
Visit the Zim & Zou website, Behance portfolio, or follow them on Instagram to check out lots more of their wonderful artwork.

It’s been so long since I last posted Sam Weber’s work that some of these really aren’t that recent, but still - here they are now. Sam might be one of the best illustrators and painters of our current time and thus stands on the horizon of art’s future by often mixing classical and digital methods to create his work.

Klaus Enrique’s Arcimboldo Series.
Artist Klaus Enrique painstakingly uses flowers, insects, fruits, vegetables and various other organic items (ie., baby mice) and photographs them to create gorgeous still life portraits resembling the work of legendary painter Arcimboldo. The results, which Klaus has named “Arcimboldism,” are rich with details and sometimes end up resembling famous figures or pop culture icons.

A behind-the-scenes video for Guitar Hero Live, announced last week, shows a little more of how the game's new six-button guitar controller will work when Activision's rhythm series returns later this year.
FreesStyleGames, the developing studio, also goes a little further into the design choices they made in rebooting Guitar Hero, particularly the use of full-motion video and the first-person perspective for the series. Guitar Hero TV, a "playable music video network," also gets mentioned and briefly discussed.
The controller, GHTV and full-motion video were all part of our in-depth look at Guitar Hero Live last week, so see this feature for more on those components. Guitar Hero Live will come to PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Wii U,...
Bridgeti'm almost positive that LA Whipped place was selling bluebell

If you’ve got Blue Bell ice cream sitting in your freezer, toss it, because the company has just issued a voluntary recall of literally all its products, after the much-dreaded listeria was found lurking inside a couple of its cartons. Yes, even if it’s a lovingly smuggled half-gallon of peach. Chuck it.
