Russell Wilson said he would consider playing both football and baseball if he were traded to the Mariners.

Seattle Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson said he'd consider playing baseball if he were traded to the Seattle Mariners, as reported by ESPN. Wilson said as much appearing on Jimmy Kimmel Live on Thursday night, though this didn't seem like a contract ploy given that he was suggesting he could play both football and baseball.

Wilson already has a contract with the Texas Rangers, but has said that playing both sports would be very difficult. Playing for the Mariners would be similarly difficult in reality, but the Mariners being in Seattle as well seems to make things more interesting for Wilson.

Kimmell asked Wilson if a trade to the Mariners would make him take a "whole different look at it," to which Wilson said he would "definitely consider it."

Wilson is currently set to play out the final year of his rookie NFL contract, and will make $1.5 million for his efforts this season. He and the Seahawks have been trying to work at a contract extension this offseason, but Wilson likely wants to be the highest-paid player in the league and the Seahawks are reluctant to give him that kind of money. Their back-and-forth has been all over the place, and at one point Wilson was suggesting that baseball was a fallback for him if a deal didn't get done.

That's obviously not going to happen. Wilson's earning potential in the NFL is far greater than it will ever be in baseball, and the Seahawks would be foolish to let him go at this stage. Most believe something will get done eventually. It's at least interesting that Wilson has invited the possibility of baseball being an option alongside football though, especially if something like a trade to the Mariners could facilitate the possibility further.

Que os “filmes de super herói” já estão na boca do povo todo mundo sabe.

De um passado glorioso (com o Superman de 78), passando pelas lendas urbanas (como o Quarteto Fantástico do Corman) até chegar na punhetação de Vongadires e cia, o que eram só “filme de ação com gente fantasiada” hoje já se constituem como gênero independente, logo depois dos “filmes de tubarão” na Locadora do Falecido prateleira dos cinéfilos ao redor do mundo.

Porém esta nova mania, ainda que global, concentra-se muito no contexto ocidental (mais especificamente norte-americano), o que sempre me leva a perguntar como seria esse tipo de filme pela visão de outros países e culturas. Pois bem, imbuído dessa indagação e de muito tempo livre, trago aos leitores deste blog safado um apanhado de produções “estrangeiras” de superseres! Vamos à elas!

5 – Zebraman, Takashi Miike, Japão.

Quem?
Esse aqui está na lista mais pelo diretor que pelo filme em si: Takashi Miike é um mestre dos filmes gores japoneses, responsável por pérolas como Ichi the Killer e The Audition, então o filme (que eu nem vi aliás) só por isso já merece estar na lista. Quem sabe também rola uma sanguinolência nele?

Como?
A trama é mais uma daquelas tentativas de “imaginar como seria um super-herói no mundo real”, mas de forma a mostrar o ponto de vista nipônico ao heroísmo ocidental, bem diferente de sentaises e ultramanses. É uma boa também pra fugir de filmes meio “sem coração” que aparecem na terra do sol nascente sobre o tema, cada vez mais formulaicos.

Porque?
Só por ser Miike vale a pena, vale pela crítica ainda que a julgar pelo trailer seja mais engraçadinho que outra coisa. Quem tiver assistido diz aí nos comentários se é bom.

4 – Faust, Brian Yzuna, Espanha.

Quem?
Esse eu vi! Mas gostaria de ter desvisto! Assim como Miike, Yzuna é referência em filmes B e Trash na europa: além de dois filmes da série Reanimator, ele também é responsável pelo terceiro A Volta dos Mortos-Vivos (aquele com a menina punk zumbi) – ou seja só pérola no currículo, e Faust não fica atrás.

Como?
Por onde começar… primeiro que é uma adaptação de HQ. “Faust” saiu primeiro pela Avatar Press em 87 e já foi citado como referência para o Spawn de Todd McFarlane! Que… MERDA! Cara, é um herói de capa e máscara com a motivação d’O Corvo e as garras do Wolverine, cheio de sangue e peitinhos então não só o soldado do inferno, mas esse puto pode ter sido influência de tudo o que a gente mais odeia e tem vergonha nos quadrinhos: os anos 90!

Porque?
Ainda assim o filme vale a pena, nem que seja pra achar ruim. Eu acabei comprando numa promoção dessas por cinco reais e acabou valendo o preço para ver como seria uma HQ de quintal dessas noventista na tela grande. E já falei que tem peitinhos?

3 – Rendel, Jesse Haaja, Finlândia

Quem?
Não sei se vocês sabem, mas a Filândia nos últimos anos vêm lançando diversos filmes de ficçâo científica e fantasia bem bacanas nos últimos, mais ou menos como a Tailândia fez com o terror na última década. Iron Sky, Rare Exports dentre outros deram a tônica dum novo cinema finlandês, então porque não um filme de super herói?

Como?
E já que está surfando numa tendência, porque não surfar em outra: o filme pegou o caminho do financiamento coletivo para ficar pronto e já está em fase de arrecadação no IndieGoGo (um Catarse gringo). Isso por um lado é bom, porque garante fidelidade artística para as equipes de produção, por outro é ruim por conta daqueles velhos problemas que plataformas de financiamento coletivo têm. É um modelo muito novo ainda, tem lá suas falhas.

Porque?
Então, a trama não parece ter muito novidade – cheira muito a uma coisa meio batman, meio spawn, com muita massaveice e porrada. Mas se tiver passando num festival por aqui, ou mesmo num netflix da vida, acho que vale a pena conferir só pela fama que os filmes lapões tem alcançado.

2 – Oya, Rise of the Orishas, Nosa Igbinedion, Nigeria.

Quem?
O curta, que deu o que falar nos últimos tempos nas redes sociais brasileiras, é uma visão da religião tradicional africana (com seus deuses e mitologia) adaptada à estética dos filmes de super-heróis. É uma produção nigeriana, de um diretor nigeriano e com elenco todo composto por estrelas africanas. Só isso já vale a atenção, mas se não bastar ainda existe em fase de pré-produção uma HQ sobre a trama.

Como?
Embora seja um curta (e por isso quase não entrou na lista), Oya tem muito valor. Não vou gastar meu português aqui falando sobre coisas como representatividade étnica E de gênero, que vocês como leitores do MDM já estão caGecas de ouvir sobre, mas além disso por ser uma produção inteiramente africana, atrai atenção e investimento para todo o continente. São coisas assim que abrem as portas pro que acaba vindo depois, e só por isso já merece aplausos.

Porque?
A mitologia das religiões tradicionais africanas é MUITO POUCO explorada pela cultura pop ocidental. Puxando pela memória, eu só consigo lembrar do livro do Gaiman, Os Filhos de Anansi, que mostra um pouco da mitologia (mas pelos olhos da apropriação das populações da américa) e do background que rolava no desenho do Super-Choque envolvendo lendas e costumes do continente. É pouco. A gente baba tanto no pau martelo do Thor e acaba esquecendo de tanta coisa maneira à nossa volta. O que nos leva ao primeiro lugar…

1- Besouro, João Daniel Tikhomiroff, Brasil.

Quem?
O filme conta uma versão romantizada da vida de Besouro Mangangá, lendário mestre capoeirista baiano do início do século XX no Brasil. A vida de Besouro é cercada de lendas e reverenciada pela subcultura da capoeira nacional, e o filme promove um novo olhar sobre o personagem junto com o aspecto religioso e mitológico das comunidades de escravos do recôncavo baiano da época.

Como?
Lembro de ter visto o trailer desse filme e ficado empolgadíssimo no cinema pensando “caralho, que bem feito!” – e foi mesmo.

Cenas de luta coreografadas por gente famosa (Huan-Chiu Ku, coreógrafo de filmes clássicos de porrada como Máscara Negra e Era uma vez na China), efeitos competentes e boas atuações e trama garantiram sucesso por todo o país (tendo o filme arrebanhado vários prêmios naquele ano) e o meu queixo caído quando acenderam-se as luzes da sala de cinema. Marcou época, pena que caiu no esquecimento/na infertilidade e não inspirou nenhum filme depois disso.

Porque?
Porra, é produção nacional, com produção de gente grande, relevância histórica, representatividade cultural, e tem PORRADAAAAA, precisa dizer mais? Precisa: só de ser um filme BOM da Globo Filmes e não ter certos atores-obrigatórios já vale a pena! Parada obrigatória pra todo fã de filmes de super-herói/filmes de porrada.
0,5 – TODA BOLLYWOOD.

Então, eu sei que tem vários filmes de super-herói da Índia (alguns muito bons, inclusive), mas vamos encarar os fatos: praticamente TODO personagem principal em Bollywood é um super-herói!

Vamos à lista:

Bollywood é uma fábrica de superseres!

North Korea has been on a building binge since its young leader, Kim Jung Un, came into office. Some of his top priority projects? A ski resort, a “miniature world” park that includes replicas of London’s Big Ben and France’s Eiffel Tower, and basketball courts, skating rinks and video arcades around the capitol, Pyongyang.

On one hand, these trappings of western recreation are likely meant to show the outside world how progressive—and fun!—of a country is North Korea. On the other, it’s probable the parks are equally important for improving how the country looks from the inside. Over the past few months, the North Korean government has been encouraging citizens to get more interested in sports, in hopes recreation will energize and mobilize the populace. Officials have called this ”the hot wind of sports blowing through Korea.”

The majority of the North Korean population will likely never set foot in the planned luxury ski resort or fly in a plane leaving from Pyongyang’s new airport. But there is a small and growing population of North Koreans earning money from the underground economy who are able to spend on small luxuries that could include a videogame or two.

Here are some photos of the government’s efforts to bring recreation to the masses, including a new water park that appears to have now opened, according to state media photos released earlier this week.

The operator of the rail tunnel linking Britain and France says services were disrupted early on Saturday after around 150 migrants tried to storm a French terminal in an attempt to board a Britain-bound freight.

Eurotunnel says freight services were disrupted for a few hours after migrants tried to enter restricted areas port of Calais at about 2 a.m. local time. Some passenger services were also affected.

The company on Saturday urged authorities to resolve the worsening migrant crisis in the region.

The disruption caused a return of snaking lines of trucks and freighters to British highways, which saw thousands of drivers stuck this week because striking French workers crippled ferry crossings.
