As an art director at Santa Cruz Skateboards from mid-70s, Phillips created unique graphics that influenced countless designers and artists even to this day. Levi’s is paying homage to the legendary illustrator by teaming up on a small collaboration collection. The line consists of Trucker Jacket, Trucker Vest, and two t-shirts. All of the garments are highlighted by artworks by Phillips, inspired by ’60s resort lifestyle in California. “Broadcast eating” is a South Korean online phenomenon in which video bloggers live-stream themselves eating dinner while chatting with their online followers. One of the most popular “broadcast jockeys” is Park Seo-yeon (aka “the Diva”), who eats vast meals before an audience of thousands every day (you can watch an old broadcast here). Her fans send her virtual currency during the broadcast which adds up to about $9,400 per month. Park believes that her fans take vicarious pleasure from watching her eat and also tune in to fight off loneliness (a growing number of South Koreans live alone). Reuters has more details on the broadcast eating phenomenon.
