CyberPower's Trinity PC Goes from Prototype to Shipping Product

by Paul Lilly

Trinity PCGet yours starting at $955

We first spied CyberPower PC's funktastically designed Trinity gaming PC at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas earlier this year. Back then, Trinity was in the prototype stage, and all too often we've seen such things turn to vaporware. Not this time. CyberPower today announced that its Trinity PC is available to configure and order, with prices starting at $955 for an AMD configuration.

Before we get to the available configurations, let's talk a moment about the design. Trinity is unique in that it consists of three distinct compartments, or blades. This is partially to maximize cooling, as each compartment gets its own cooling scheme.

The "Performance Blade" contains the graphics card with support for full-length models, such as the GeForce Titan X or Radeon R9 series. You can also mount several solid state drives adjacent to the graphics card.

There's also a "CPU Blade" that's compatible with mini ITX motherboards, and a "Storage Blade" that can house up to three SSDs, two HDDs, and a slim optical drive.

Now, onto the configurations. It starts with the Trinity 100 ($955), which includes an AMD A10-7700K CPU, 8GB DDR3-1600 RAM, Nvidia GeForce GTX 750 Ti graphics card, MSI A88XI AC motherboard, 120GB + 1TB SSD/HDD combo, 8X DVD writer, and Windows 8.1

Next up is the Trinity 200 ($1,339) -- Core i5 4690K CPU, 16GB DDR3-1600 RAM, GeForce GTX 960 GPU, Gigabyte Z97N WiFi mobo, 240GB SSD + 2TB HDD, 8X DVD writer, and Windows 8.1.

Finally, there's the Trinity Xtreme ($1,795). It comes with an Intel Core i7 5820K CPU, 16GB DDR4-2400 RAM, GeForce GTX 970 graphics card, ASRock X99E-ITX/AC motherboard, 240GB SSD + 2TB HDD, 8X DVD burner, and Windows 8.1.

All of these configurations are customizable -- just head here and start clicking.

59,203 Pounds Of Trader Joe’s And Al Fresco Chicken Sausage May Be Seasoned With Plastic Shards

by Laura Northrup

applesausageA good chicken sausage is a nice mix of meat, seasonings, and the occasional vegetable in a casing. What is not supposed to be part of that blend of ingredients are shards of plastic, which are harmful to your teeth and don’t taste very good. Sausage sold under the Trader Joe’s house brand and the Al Fresco brand been recalled because it may have that problem.

What should you look for if, for example, you happen to have bought a freezer full of this sausage while it was on sale like an unnamed Consumerist staffer? The affected products are both apple-maple flavored. Al Fresco is available in regular grocery stores, but the Trader Joe’s brand is only available in their stores.

alfresoapplesausage

For the Al Fresco products have the code 9709, and use by/freeze by dates of June 13 or June 20. Affected Trader Joe’s brand, you want to look for case code 9605 and use by/freeze by dates of April 22, April 24, and April 29, 2015.

They learned about the issue after two customers reported finding plastic pieces in their sausages. The pieces were small, and they weren’t injured.

The African Renaissance Monument in Senegal, larger that the Eiffel tower and the statue of liberty .. Things you don’t see in mainstream media.
@KrystVegaNeteru

This is beautiful.

I think this picture better illustrates the size of that monument.

I never even knew this existed this makes me so happy to find out about it

Nah it’s awful

Have you ever spoken to a Senegalese person about this monument to macho megalomania? They hate it.

This statue cost the same as the public debt of Senegal’s hospitals. It’s a big strong man sweeping a scantily clad woman along behind him - they’re all half naked which is extremely insensitive in a country with a 92% Muslim majority …it’s supposed to signify the future and progress but it looks like a throwback to Stalin era politics, it’s supposed to signify African “renaissance” but African people neither designed nor built it.

We can marvel at the size of it, but people in Senegal are pretty adamant that they’d prefer electricity that stays on and surfaces on the roads, books for schools.

It’s a monument to the ego of President Abdoulaye Wade, who, by the way, has claimed 35% of the revenue generated by tourists thanks to this thing, on the basis that he had the idea to build it 20 years ago. He’s 83.

WTF of the Day: Darknet Bot Arrested, Released After Buying Ecstasy for Swiss Art Project with Bitcoin

by TDW

042115darknetshopper_fi

An artist collective in Switzerland named !MEDIENGRUPPE BITNIK set up an online shopping bot last year which was programmed to make random purchases each week from the Dark Web.

The “Random Darknet Shopper,” as the “Mail Art piece” is called, was given a weekly allowance of $100 in Bitcoin to buy whatever its artificial heart desired from Agora.

This is basically an online black market similar to Silk Road where you can easily find weapons, drugs and other items you wouldn’t normally be able to legally pick up on Amazon.

All of the goods were automatically shipped to the artists and then put on display as part of a real-world exhibition at a gallery called Kunst Halle St Gallen.

Since the project kicked off, a trove of bizarre items have showed up on their doorstep including cigarettes from Ukraine, Louis Vuitton handbags, the complete “Lord of the Rings” book set, MDMA with the Twitter bird carved onto the pills, sneakers, a hat with a hidden camera, a credit card and a Hungarian passport.

042115mdma

According to Vulture, they weren’t initially worried about getting arrested because “Switzerland’s books permit lawbreaking that demonstrates ‘a plausible interest of scientific, artistic, or informational nature.'”

But back in January, Swiss police confiscated the bot and everything it had purchased.

The Guardian wrote about the robot’s arrest and its implications.

Can a robot, or a piece of software, be jailed if it commits a crime? Where does legal culpability lie if code is criminal by design or default? What if a robot buys drugs, weapons, or hacking equipment and has them sent to you, and police intercept the package?

The artists called it “an unjustified intervention into freedom of art.”

Several months later, however, the police returned everything to the artists except the drugs, which were destroyed and no charges were filed.

The prosecutor, they said, had ultimately decided that “the possession of Ecstasy was indeed a reasonable means for the purpose of sparking public debate.”

So art won.

“This is a great day for the bot, for us and for freedom of art!” they wrote on their blog.

Full House is coming back…“Fuller House,”...

Full House is coming back…

“Fuller House,” like “Full House” will be set in San Francisco, and will follow D.J. Tanner-Fuller (Bure) as she navigates life as a pregnant, and recently widowed, mother. Stephanie Tanner (Sweetin) is now an aspiring musician and Kimmy Gibler (Barber) is a single mom with a teenage daughter, Ramona. They move into D.J.’s house to help take care of her two sons, 12-year-old J.D. – not a joke – and 7-year-old Max.

Remember how everyone made a huge deal about “Girl Meets World”, does anyone even watch that? Full House is my favorite sitcom from the 90s, but I’m pretty sure this revival is going to be terrible. Thats just one dudes opinion, man.

I don't want to blow your mind or anything, but the key to the recipe is to wrap the Oreos in the bacon... then fry them together. I know. It's nuts. Now if you'll excuse me I'll be in the corner dying while thinking about thse.

Heroes of the Storm, Blizzard's MOBA, launches June 2

by Brian Crecente

Heroes of the Storm, Blizzard's long-in-development MOBA, launches on Windows PC and Mac on June 2, following an open beta that kicks off on May 19, the developer announced this morning.

The game drops well known characters from Warcraft, StarCraft and Diablo into the popular multiplayer battle online arena genre.

"With its focus on team play and fast-paced fun, Heroes of the Storm is a fresh take on a very popular genre," Mike Morhaime, CEO and cofounder of Blizzard Entertainment, said in a prepared statement. "We've built Heroes of the Storm in a way that makes it accessible to new players, but also challenging enough for veterans who really want to put their skills to the test. We can't wait to see what Heroes brings to the co-op...
