Now I know why Devolver picked up A Fistful of Gun

by Brett Makedonski

It takes a certain kind of appeal for Devolver Digital to add a title to its stable of games. While the indie-friendly publisher doesn't necessarily have an underlying style that unite all of its games, there is a common theme. They're all uniquely awesome in some way. A Fistful of Gun is the newcomer to Devolver, but it falls right in line as one might expect.

A Fistful of Gun is a top-down western arcade shooter that's all about execution, but maybe moreso about how you'll arrive at that execution. In predictable fashion, there are a bunch of bad guys on the screen, and you're tasked with shooting all of them. One hit kills them, one hit kills you. Where this game thrives is in the choice that it gives the player.

Electrifying Fashion: Chainmail And Plate Metal Dress Acts Like a Faraday Cage [Video]

by Geeks are Sexy

From Anouk Wipprecht:

Collaboration between fashiontech designer Anouk Wipprecht and ArcAttack using their customised singing Tesla Coils during the MakerFaire 2014 to create a faraday cage style dress.

The challenge was to create a iconic design that would hold up to the power of high-voltage, low-current, high-frequency, alternating-current electricity. Which did. Scarily enough.

by C. Minstane

A woman who only goes by the name “The Cougar” has sent us some of the greatest yoga pants pics the internet has ever seen. If you’re a regular on this site, you’ve seen her. She’s sent us so many pictures that if I put them all on one page it might crash your browser.

So here’s what I’m gonna do: Here are 48 pics of her in black yoga pants. Some of them have never been seen before, while others are already legendary on the web. Notice I said black yoga pants — I will be putting the rest of her pics in different colored yoga pants and lingerie in a separate post soon.

She doesn’t have any Twitter or Facebook page to plug like other girls on here, all she wants us to do is to share her pics. So do your duty and share this page with your friends.

1974 Volkswagen Thing

by Frank

This 1974 Thing looks and sounds to be a good driver and is on offer by its third owner. Said to have been garaged most of its life, the car was painted two tone brown to match the previous owner’s RV for which it served as a tow-behind. It looks to have been painted a lighter, OEM orange from new, the seller recently having it resprayed in a pearl Maserati shade. Find it here on Craigslist in Redondo Beach, California for $7,500 firm.

8 Of The Most Ridiculously Expensive Gadgets Money Can Buy

by Lisa Eadicicco

huell money breaking bad

Computers, smartphones, and tablets are expensive enough as it is. But when you outfit them with custom designer fabrics and jewels, they can cost you a mind-blowing sum of money.

While some gadgets can run you thousands of dollars because of their luxurious build materials, others are extremely expensive because of the technology that's inside them and what they can do.

From gold-crafted iPhones to giant tablets with stunning displays, here are some of the most ridiculously expensive gadgets.

AeroSystem One iPhone Dock/Speaker (about $1,115)

Most people probably wouldn't pay more than a few hundred dollars for a smartphone, let alone an accessory for your smartphone. But Jarre claims its sleek and tall iPhone companion is worth it. The sound system is said to be the result of years of research by French composer Jean Michael Jarre and his team.

Optimus Maxiumus Keyboard ($1,500)

The Optimus Maximus keyboard sold for $1,500 when it launched six years ago. That's because the device's keys are fully programmable — meaning you can assign a different function to each key. Each button on the keyboard is a miniature display that tells you what its function is at a given time. Engadget has a brief review that explains how it works.

Panasonic 4K Toughpad Tablet ($6,000)

Panasonic's 4K Windows 8 tablet sells for $6,000, but you don't have to worry about it breaking under stress. Since it's a Toughpad, Panasonic's rugged line of laptops and tablets, it can withstand being dropped from 2.5 feet. Rugged devices are usually much more expensive than regular computers since they're equipped to meet certain standards. But the 4k Toughpad's super-sharp 3,840x2,560-pixel-resolution display also accounts for its high price tag.

Adorable Elderly People React To Virtual Reality Device Oculus Rift

by Hannah Keyser
D G

imagine how much better it would have been if not for zuckerface

After asking a group of game elders to test out Google Glass, the Fine Brothers upped the ante on futuristic technology of today and showed them Oculus Rift, a virtual reality device (and not a rock group like one lady assumed). The elders had no idea what they were dealing with. "I'm not going to electrocute myself, am I?" one asked.

Many thought it was a protective mask of some sort—for space or snorkeling or war or for preventing spread of the Ebola virus—while some thought it might be a mind control device. One compared it to old-school Viewfinders.

Once the device was turned on, all of the elders loved exploring the virtual villa in Tuscany. "It's like you're there!" One woman commented. But things got a little dicey at the amusement park. Sure, the roller coaster isn't real, but as one lady shrieked, "My stomach doesn't know that!" Despite some run-ins with motion sickness and a-little-too-real-for-comfort horror experience, they all expressed amazement at how far technology has come in their lifetimes.

I Demand One: Texas Brewery Offering 99-Packs Of Beer

99-pack-of-beer.jpg This is the 99-pack of Peacemaker beer available from Austin Beerworks. It's seven feet long, weighs 82-pounds, costs $99, and has 99 beers inside. For reference, that's about a dollar a beer. "No, that's EXACTLY a dollar a beer." OH COOL, YOU'RE GOOD AT MATH, WAY TO BRAG. I do not have a fridge large enough to hold this case. If I need to buy 99 beers at once, I'll do it the way God Intended: in a keg. Have I ever told you I have a kegerator in my bedroom? Well if I did, I was lying. I've only DREAMED of having a kegerator in my bedroom. Plus a lady. Such cool dreams. Keep going for a video about how the monster case came to be.

Verizon Tops JD Power Wireless Network Performance Rankings -

On the heels of a recent RootMetrics study that lauded Verizon as having the fastest, largest and most reliable network, the company is again receiving praise from JD Power and Associates. According to a new JD power study (pdf), Verizon ranked highest in wireless network quality in five geographic regions (Northeast, Southeast, North Central, Southwest and West), while AT&T ranked highest in one geographic region (Mid-Atlantic).

The study measures mobile networks on five base criteria: dropped calls; calls not connected; audio issues; failed/late voicemails; lost calls; text transmission failures; late text message notifications; Web connection errors; slow downloads; and email connection errors.

Verizon has historically dominated the JD Power network performance rankings.

Overall, JD Power notes that "the incidence of data quality problems has risen for the first time in more than four years as the growing number of tablets and mobile broadband devices generates different usage patterns and network quality expectations from smartphone and feature phone device owners."

The good news for Verizon users is obvious. The bad news is that Verizon has consistently refused to more seriously compete on price, citing their stellar performance in network quality and wireless customer satisfaction surveys. More aggressive pricing pressure from T-Mobile and Sprint may eventually change this, but Verizon has proven highly resistant to the idea of real price competition.
