This article has been published at RLSLOG.net - visit our site for full content.

Group ZWT has released the latest version of the application “VanDyke SecureCRT”. Enjoy!

Description: SecureCRT gives you an encrypted Secure Shell (SSH1 and SSH2) session with servers and devices. For SSH, Telnet, Telnet/SSL, and other protocols, SecureCRT’s tabbed sessions reduce desktop clutter and make it easy to switch between sessions and organize groups of connected sessions. Extensive session management and customization features include named sessions, and multiple-session windows. Choose from a wide range of emulations including VT100, VT102, VT220, ANSI, SCO ANSI, Wyse 50/60, Xterm, and Linux console. SecureCRT can help you save valuable time by automating routine configuration tasks with powerful scripting capabilities.

Features:

  • Drag and drop: SecureFX allows you to drag and drop (or copy and paste) files to and from Windows Explorer, the desktop, and other applications (e.g., WinZip), letting you transfer files more easily.
  • Integration with SecureCRT: SecureFX and SecureCRT can share the global options, session options, and the host key database so you only need to perform operations like setting application defaults, sessions settings, or accepting a server’s host key once. SecureCRT and SecureFX can share passwords and passphrases while either application or the Activator utility is running, and both SecureCRT and SecureFX sessions are displayed on the Activator menu. Launch either application from a toolbar button and specify a session to connect to. A combined installer is available that installs both clients and their DLLs into the same folder, making it easy to install SecureCRT and SecureFX and keep them in sync.
  • Multi-file transfers: Support for resuming multiple-file transfers. All remaining files in the transfer list are completed after a broken connection is reestablished.
  • Synchronization: Select local and remote folders, choose from upload, download, and mirror options, then fine tune file selection in the synchronization window. To save set up time, Quick Synchronize and Synchronize dialogs provide the option to use paths from the active sessions for synchronize operations. Multiple sites are easy to keep synchronized with a synchronize database that supports saving, editing, and executing synchronize operations. Quick synchronize mirror with delete automatically deletes files or folders that are not on the source from the destination, allowing you to exactly match the destination and source. This is also supported in SFXCL.
  • File permission tools: Support for changing permissions on multiple files at once. When connected to VShell® for Windows version 2.2 or higher, the Properties dialog for the remote file or folder has a Security tab that allows ACL permissions to be viewed.
  • FIPS 140-2 support: When the administrative option to run in “FIPS Mode” is set, SecureFX uses a FIPS 140-2 validated cryptographic library and only allows FIPS-approved algorithms.

This Sneak King speedrun is terrifying for a number of reasons

by Charlie Hall

It was a simpler time then. The Xbox 360 was bright and new. We lived in a post-red-ring-of-death, pre-horse-armor world. To order a pizza, you actually had to dial someone by telephone. The world knew a kind of peace.

And there, always lurking just out of sight, was The Burger King. And his unflinching, plastinate gaze.

The King Games series, offered for a fee alongside the Burger King value meals in 2006, were not good. They weren't terrible though, in that they functioned and could be completed. I will admit to actually having fun racing my wife in PocketBike Racer, the Mario Kart clone (featuring Brooke Burke).

I still have the complete set. They smell like french fries inside.

But of the three game, the most legendary — and the...

There Are Whole Booths Filled With Selfie Sticks At CES

by Jay Yarow

looks like sex toys from another dimension

If you get away from the main convention hall at CES, you can see some different stuff.

For instance, I saw a few booths dedicated to making selfie sticks in the hall that has nothing but Chinese manufacturers.

Selfie sticks are a suddenly hot item. They allow people to extend their phones away from their bodies and take selfies. It allows the selfie-r to get more in the shot.

I tried to ask someone at the booth if selfie sticks are booming in popularity right now.

Alas, something got lost in translation, and all I was told was that if I wanted to get an order of selfie sticks they would be able to do it quickly.

Here are some photos of the booths:

FCC Chair Hints That Broadband Reclassification Is The Right Path Toward Net Neutrality

by Ashlee Kieler

I wonder if the collective majority of ignorant liberal kids on the Internet would be so for NN if the GOP were in charge of the presidency...

FCC Chairman Tom Wheeler spoke about a possible net neutrality rule during a CES conference.

FCC Chairman Tom Wheeler spoke about a possible net neutrality rule during a CES conference.

During an appearance at International CES this afternoon, FCC Chair Tom Wheeler gave indications that he’s leaning toward reclassifying broadband as part of his plan for net neutrality.

The chairman’s revealing comments about the ongoing battle surrounding net neutrality came during a one-on-one discussion with Consumer Electronics Association president and CEO Gary Shapiro.

Wheeler strongly hinted that he would propose a reclassification of ISPs and regulate them under Title II of the Communications Act, which would give the Commission the authority to regulate broadband as a vital piece of telecommunications infrastructure.

It was this lack of authority that allowed Verizon to successfully challenge the 2010 neutrality guidelines, which prohibited any blocking, slowing down, or speeding up of data based on its origin.

A proposal to reclassify ISPs would fall in-line with the urgings of consumer advocates and the White House, which have all previously called for the FCC to adopt Title II based regulations.

“We’re pulling in the same direction, which is no blocking, no throttling, no paid prioritization,” Wheeler said Wednesday referencing the White House proposal made in November. “We’re going to propose rules … that there is a yardstick against which behavior should be measured. And that yardstick is just and reasonable.”

Back in November, President Obama unexpectedly jumped into the fray over the hotly debated topic by releasing a statement that made it very clear the FCC should protect net neutrality by reclassifying broadband.

The chairman’s comments on Wednesday appear to be in contrast with those he shared when the issue first came to the forefront last year.

At that time, Wheeler resisted the idea of bringing ISPs under Title II. Instead he proposed allowing ISPs to strike deals with content companies and online services as long as they were “commercially reasonable.”

But Wheeler told Shapiro on Wednesday that during the FCC’s study of the issue, it became evident that the idea of “commercially reasonable” could be interpreted as what is reasonable for the ISPs, not for the consumer.

“Because the issue here is how do we make sure that consumers and innovators have access to open networks,” he said.

Wheeler illustrated his discussion on reclassification by describing his interaction with a company during CES. He said the company used an ethernet port in their router that has to go into the router of an ISP.

In that specific case the ISP was offering a competitive service, but Wheeler said he now questions how the commission could make sure such pathways stay open.

While Wheeler’s remarks appear to hint that he’s leaning toward reclassification, he tried to temper his pervious statement by saying he wasn’t actually providing specifics.

“You’ll have to wait until February to see the specifics,” he told Shapiro.

This month marks the one-year anniversary of the old rule being struck down. The FCC voted to consider a new proposal in May, but that suggestion version of the rule met with an overwhelminghighly critical response from millions, including two FCC commissioners.

Wheeler’s stance on the proposal took a much more direct approach than that of FCC commissioners, who generally skirted the issue during a roundtable event at CES on Wednesday afternoon.

FCC commissioners attended a roundtable discussion at CES Wednesday afternoon.

FCC commissioners attended a roundtable discussion at CES Wednesday afternoon.

Commissioner Ajit Pai told a crowd of attendees that he thinks the President’s address in November drastically changed the landscape of net neutrality, but believes the FCC should make its own rules.

Pai said the commission must be cognizant of “what effect our rules have on innovation and investment going forward. I hope, as someone that champions the open internet, that we do no harm.”

Commissioner Mignon Clyburn said during the discussion that getting net neutrality right is the only option.

“One of my takeaways and what drives me is big companies have lawyers and lobbyists, but the little guys only have text and Tweets,” she said.

Commissioner Michael O’Rielly says he’s continuing to review information on net neutrality but looks forward to the weeks ahead.

Wheeler said the commission should receive the proposal the week of February 5, with a vote following on February 26.
