We’ve known that Disney is doing a brand new DuckTales for a while, but now we’re starting to get some solid details about who’ll be providing the voices of our feathered friends... and it turns out a former Time Lord and Marvel villain is lending his brogue to Scrooge McDuck himself.

The full voice cast of the new series was revealed today, courtesy of the only way a new DuckTales cast should be revealed: a video of them all singing the classic theme tune for the show. Woo-oo!

Joining Tennant’s Scrooge McDuck will be Danny Pudi, Ben Schwartz, and Bobby Moynihan as Huey, Duey, and Louie, respectively. The main cast is rounded out with Toks Olagundoye as Mrs. Beakley, Beck Bennett as Launchpad McQuack, and Kate Micucci as Webby Vanderquack.

Holy cow, that’s one hell of a cast. DuckTales is set to premiere in the summer of 2017 on Disney XD.

Earlier this week, Evernote updated its privacy policy to make machine learning features—which let some employees read your notes—mandatory for all users. Now, the company’s walking that policy back, but there are still some problems.

After Agents of SHIELD came to a close for the midseason last week, Marvel announced a short new webseries for the show, Slingshot, starring speedy Inhuman Yo-Yo Rodriguez. Well, the wait is already over: you can now watch the whole thing online.

ABC’s YouYube channel has dropped all six episodes of Slingshot, which you can check out in the conveniently-placed video playlist below. The episodes are only about 4-5 minutes long, so in total it’s pretty much half an episode of Agents of SHIELD in length, but if you want to learn more about Yo-Yo and her past while you twiddle your thumbs waiting for the show to return next year, it’s a good way to spend some time.

Ryktet visade sig stämma för nu har Pebble meddelat att Fitbit förvärvat deras tillgångar och att Pebble läggs ned. Meddelandet har publicerats på Kickstarter vilket är passande med tanke på att det var där Pebbles saga började.

All hårdvaruverksamhet upphör. Pebble tillverkar, marknadsför eller säljer inte längre nya produkter. Befintliga enheter kommer att fortsätta att fungera, men ”funktionalitet och service” kan reduceras längre fram. Firmware-uppdateringar och nya funktioner är heller inte att räkna med.

De som beställt en Pebble Time 2, Pebble Core eller Pebble Time Round (Kickstarter Editions) kommer att få pengarna tillbaka, då dessa enheter inte längre kommer att nå slutproduktion. Enligt Pebble får kunder pengarna tillbaka automatiskt, inklusive eventuell skatt och fraktkostnad.

An effort by thousands of social media users to help an autistic boy has paid off.

14-year-old Ben Carter is described by his father Marc as having “severe autism, he’s non-verbal and has very limited understanding.” Since he was two, Ben has drunk exclusively from a two-handed toddler cup and refused any other vessel, to the point that he was twice hospitalised with dehydration. To make things worse, Ben’s medication is administered via drinks of orange juice.

Although the family replaced the cup once with an identical model, the replacement also began disintegrating – a major problem given the model was long out of production. Marc tweeted his followers to ask if they could track a replacement cup down and the post wound up being retweeted more than 20,000 times.

Manufacturers Tommee Tippee said they no longer had any stock, but also posted requests on Twitter and Facebook. The appeals promoted numerous responses, including people posting spare cups of a similar model (which Ben rejected, instantly spotting it was an “imposter”) and suggestions of 3D printing.

However, not only did the family receive several dozen old cups of the same model but the interest prompted the manufacturers to search factories across the world. Eventually they tracked down an original production mold in China which had not been disposed of as should normally have happened. After confirming it still works and is in a food-safe condition, they have told the family they will produce a lifetime supply of cups for Ben.

It’s still not certain if Ben will accept the replacement, having rejected some of the donated cups that were in relatively good condition. The family now plans to collate the full set of donations, sort them in order of deterioration, start with the one in worst shape, and gradually replace them with ones in better condition in the hope that the adjustment will be subtle enough each time that Ben accepts the change. If that works, the hope is that eventually Ben will come to accept a new cup as “his” meaning the family will never have to worry about running out of cups.

Det börjar närma sig jul och motivationen jag skulle haft inför beach2016 kommer nu! Helt feltajmat kan man tycka men jag tror på att följa sina impulser Är du med mig här eller är jag själv om min nytändning? 

Idag tänkte jag prata lite om långvariga viktplatåer. Jag hoppas inte att du har gett upp bara för att lussekatter och knäckbak är i antågande. Jag ska till kyrkan och dricka glögg nästa lördag så man behöver inte missa nått bara för att man vill komma iform! Men pepparkakor blir det faktiskt inte, där går min gräns!

LÅNGVARIGA VIKTPLATÅER

Låt oss hoppa rakt in i ämnet – vad tusan är fel när man är på samma vikt alldeles för länge, månad ut och månad in?

Anledning 1 – Kortisol
Om man fastar mycket eller tränar ihärdigt kan man få ökade kortisolnivåer som gör att man blockerar alla former av viktminskning samt lagrar in vätska. Träna inte i för katabolt läge, gå inte och hungra i onödan och sov ordentligt! Sömnen är nummer ett och man behöver sova 23-05 minst för optimal viktminskning. Om du sover på andra tider eller mindre än 6 timmar  kommer det att gå trögare!

Sluta också med alla bantningspiller, celsius och högkoffein-drycker det är otroligt kontraproduktivt!

Anledning  2 – förstoppning och slö lymfa
Om man är förstoppad går man inte ned i vikt och om man har en slö lymfa lagrar man också in mer vätska än man ska. Det gör att armar och ben kan upplevas som väldigt stora och tunga. Både förstoppning och svullnad kommer ofta som ett brev på posten om man är för stilla. Vanlig styrketräning är inte alltid nog, ibland behöver man komma ut på lite promenader också och fysiskt göra saker. Drick inte bara kaffe heller, drick vatten, maskrosté och vatten + askorbinsyra!

Anledning 3 – Icke-kongruenta mål
Man måste vara kongruent med sina mål, är det viktminskning som gäller så kan man inte göra massa andra saker som går i rakt motsatt riktning. Jag brukar undvika att försöka öka i styrka samtidigt som jag minskar i fettprocent, inte för att det inte går (det går!) utan för att det blir så bakvänt rent mentalt. Det är mycket bättre att ha ETT tydligt mål TILLS det är nått och SEN ta nästa! Annars står man lätt och stampar på samma ställe.

Anledning 4 – För många insulintoppar per dag
Det här gäller förstås inte om du äter lågkolhydratkost men om du inte gör det så rekommenderar jag att se upp med alla små insulinhöjande ”snack” som slinker ned. Skit i kalorierna och tänk hormonellt! En liten halstablett eller godis, en kaka, lite saft, en bulle, ett kex och så vidare, varje (VARJE) liten grej blockerar ALL fettminskning tills blodsockret är normalt igen!

Jag har medvetet undvikit att skriva ”du är i energibalans” som en anledning för de uttrycket spyr jag på. Kalorier känns väldigt 90-tal och nu skippar vi dem en gång för alla tycker jag! Hormoner, signalsubstanser, näringsämnen och mikrofloran är det som gäller till 100%

Seriöst, har ni slängt ett öga på vad som händer i Rollspelssverige just nu? Det är som någon helt sinnessjuk megaboom going on. Typ alla svenska rollspel översätts till engelska – och verkar göra succé.  Och det kommer ut sinnessjuka mängder spel, i princip hela tiden.

I senaste avsnitten av Signaler från zonen släppta Fria Ligan nyheten om att kickstarterlöftet om att göra ett rollspel av Simon Stålenhags konst nu kommer att infrias.

Samtidigt finns Oktoberlandet att köpa, och Svärd och svartkonst är uppe för förhandsbeställning. Ett tag trodde jag att Järn var det perfekta rollspelet, men SoS ser helt klart ut som en contender, speciellt för oss som inte är så peppade på stäpplevande klansamhällen.

(På tal om stepp så borde någon omedelbart göra Fred Astaire the RPG. Make it happen, någon.)

Finding and busting some of the world’s biggest myths is almost an art unto itself. Now, there’s an entire exhibition dedicated to the Art of the Myth. It’s even got the stamp of approval from Adam Savage himself.

Burbank memorabilia shop Creature Features unveiled its latest art exhibit, Testing Myths. Cultivated by artist Chogrin, the group art gallery features several artists paying tribute to the works of MythBusters stars Savage and Jamie Hyneman. It ranges from classic Frankenstein-esque block prints to adding the Busters’ likeness into The Muppets. It shows just how influential the MythBusters have been, and what impact the show and its stars have had. Here’s just a few of the pieces from the collection.

Even though MythBusters aired its final episode in March, the show’s not completely off the radar. There’s reportedly a revival series in the works, and the MythBusters’ M7 Build Team is hosting its own myth-busting series on Netflix called The White Rabbit Project. Then, of course, you’ve got the reality show on the Science Channel that’s searching for “The Next MythBuster.” The trailer came out last week, it looks pretty generic.

Savage has been pretty quiet about the reality show, which he and Hyneman are not involved in at all, but he has been singing the praises of the art show on Twitter. Who knows, maybe he’s found a new piece for his home collection. Who wouldn’t love to have a picture of themselves as a two-headed 8-bit monstrosity? Testing Myths will be on display until November 27.

Med anledning av mitt saltinlägg igår var det många som ville veta hur jag gör min egen ”sportdryck”. Det är alltså en form av resorb fast utan glukos och e-ämnen! Den här är perfekt och man ligger lite lågt på elektrolyterna, den återställer balanserna i ett kick! Jag dricker 1L av detta per dag.

RECEPT
1L vatten
1 lime
1 tesked himalayasalt
1/2 tesked kaliumpulver
2 krossade magnesiumtabletter

GÖR SÅHÄR
Koka upp vattnet, ta av värmen såfort det kokar och lägg i salt, kalium och magnesium. Om du använder kapslar så öppna kapslarna och häll ut innehållet. Mineralerna löser sig i varmt vatten. Tillsätt juice från 1 lime, blanda runt och ställ in i kylen.

Mängderna är inte exakta, har du inte kalium så ät en avocado istället. 2 avocados täcker dagens kaliumbehov. Har du inte magnesium så strunta i den och använd bara salt. Lime är också utbytbart förstås, men jag tycker att det blir gott. Om jag inte har lime hemma häller jag i en matsked askorbinsyra (C-vitaminpulver) Det blir en riktig killer coctail kan jag lova!

Testa gärna, jag lovar att du inte behöver handla resorb igen!

Shortly after shareholders approved the acquisition of renewable energy firm SolarCity on Thursday, Tesla CEO Elon Musk revealed that his company’s dope new solar shingles could cost less than wack conventional versions of the same thing, even before saved energy costs are accounted for.

“The basic proposition would be ‘Would you like a roof that looks better than a normal roof, lasts twice as long, costs less and by the way generates electricity?’” said Musk. “It’s like, why would you get anything else?”

According to Musk, making the panels cheaper than traditional shingles is currently “looking quite promising,” thanks in part to reduced shipping costs. From Bloomberg:

Make no mistake: The new shingles will still be a premium product, at least when they first roll out. The terra cotta and slate roofs Tesla mimicked are among the most expensive roofing materials on the market—costing as much as 20 times more than cheap asphalt shingles.

Much of the cost savings Musk is anticipating comes from shipping the materials. Traditional roofing materials are brittle, heavy, and bulky. Shipping costs are high, as is the quantity lost to breakage. The new tempered-glass roof tiles, engineered in Tesla’s new automotive and solar glass division, weigh as little as a fifth of current products and are considerably easier to ship, Musk said.

Musk first announced his intention to disrupt the tops of our homes last month when he unveiled four houses outfitted with surprisingly stylish solar panel tiles.

“The key is to make solar look good,” said Musk at the time. “We want you to call your neighbors over and say, ‘Check out this sweet roof.’”

Zero floofs given. [full video]

Yes, it’s been awhile. I feel like I say that a lot, but during this particular lull I’ve had deadlines and book releases and a lingering antibiotic-resistant illness and Lucy to socialize/housebreak and several more in-person events and a couple of interviews and several Skype chats with school kids and also Halloween.

In short, I’ve been swamped. So swamped, that I’ve formally submitted notice that the first draft of my next book is going to be a bit late. It was originally slated for November 1, but I figured out a few weeks ago that it just wasn’t going to happen – so I gave my editor and agent a heads up, sucked it up, and now I’m shooting for New Year’s Day.

That said, I hope to post progress much more frequently than I’ve been blogging for the last couple of months but shit happens – so don’t hold me to it.

For now – here’s progress on my rural gothic monster story about small-town secrets, old family lies, accidental legend-tripping, and a missing newlywed in the Okefenokee swamp – where you can drive SR 177 from west to east and cross six bridges…or take it from east to west, and you might hit seven. (But you’d better hope not.)

Things Accomplished in Fiction: Jesus, I don’t even remember.

Other: Who even knows.

Things Accomplished in Real Life: [Today] Neighborhood jaunt with dogs; cleanup in the wake of last night’s kickass annual Halloween bash; took down all the Halloween decorations outside and most of the decorations inside, then convinced the husband to hoof it all up to the attic until next year; took a nap after meds made me sleepy.

Dog Other: Lucy is on day 13 of No Dog Crime* – which is to say no inappropriate indoor pottying, no catfood sneaking, no pillow disemboweling, etc. This is the longest she’s ever gone in a single stretch, so our fingers are properly crossed! Mind you, once in a blue moon, she’ll disagree with Greyson about something and they’ll have a little spat – but it’s never serious. It’s just Lucy gaining confidence as she settles in here, and begins to behave more like a little sister than a nervous guest. 99 times out of 100 they are best buddies who hang out, play chase, and share toys. And one time out of a hundred, Lucy gets turfy about a treat. Greyson will have hurt feelings for half an hour, and then they’re off to play again.



Cat Other: The eldercat continues to do well, and her vet says she’ll outlive us all. Quinnie had her 1-year checkup after the spay surgery, revealing that our little house leopard is up to 15 pounds. God help us. In other news, she’s decided that Lucy is pretty darn all right, so now she has TWO dogs to snuggle with.




Bonus Pet Other: The eldercat is STILL the ruler of the roost. I love the pic below because she’s eating a sprinkle of cat treats, and the other 3 animals are hovering to see if she’ll leave any behind. That’s 15 pounds of cat and about 150 pounds worth of dog…all hanging back to let the 18-year-old, 8 pound cat finish her business. Even though that business is delicious.

* She peed on the bedroom rug last night, but that’s our fault – we thought she wanted to go outside and woof at the trick-or-treaters. So we kept her inside too long. That one’s a mulligan.

 

Hey look, Legendary decided to release Season 4 of Tabletop tomorrow … sort of.

The first two episodes of the season will be on YouTube as usual, then Legendary’s moving the show to their Alpha subscription service.

The show will continue to stream on Alpha, and then, on January 30, 2017, the Alpha exclusivity window will end, and show will pick back up on YouTube with episode 3. So if you choose not to sign up for Legendary’s streaming subscription service, that’s when you’ll be able to find our show where it’s always been.

At the moment, I can’t really share my personal feelings on this whole thing, but I’m pretty sure that I can say this: however and whenever and wherever you choose to watch our show, I hope you enjoy it. It’s a good season, and I’m really proud of it.
