During its panel at New York Comic-Con, Sunrise representatives confirmed that the company that will handle the Gundam franchise in the US will be none other than RightStuf, who has previously handled other Gundam properties such as the Gundam Unicorn OVA in terms of distribution.

The agreement will begin with the first Gundam series as well as the first official US release of Turn A Gundam, previously unreleased in the US.

Retailer and anime publisher RightStuf has also confirmed further Gundam titles such as ZZ Gundam as a part of the expanded collaboration and more information is expected in the weeks and months. Who's excited to finally get a chance to own Gundam from the beginning and in order?

In related news, Sunrise has also confirmed that the Gundam: The Origin OVA will receive an English dub via NYAV Post and the English title for the first Episode will be "The Blue-eyed Casval". Sunrise will also be working to deliver a new Gundam online portal for the new arrangement, along with confirmation that a US deal for Gundam: Reconguista in G is being worked on but wasn't ready in time to be announced for today's panel.

Update: Sunrise has confirmed that home video releases are slated to begin in Spring of 2015.

It's time again for another update to the Yuri Kuma Arashi anime's site. The new visual for the winter TV anime features cast members Ginko and Ruru with more bare skin and more bear paws than the earlier pic. 

Cast features Miho Arakawa as Ginko Yurishiro, Yoshiko Ikuta as Ruru Yurigazaki and Nozomi Yamane as Kureha Tsubaki. The TV anime will be helmed by Kunihiko Ikuhara (Sailor Moon, Revolutionary Girl Utena, Penguindrum), with animator Etsuko Sumimoto adapting manga tie-in author Akiko Morishima's original character designs on the Silver Link production.

One of the announcements from Crunchyroll's NYCC panel this morning was the addition of Case Closed, AKA Great Detective Conan. More information is coming, but for now you can get ready to add more whoddunnits to your weeks in the future with simulcast episodes of the long-running mystery anime.

Case Closed will be available in the United States and Canada. 

Based on the Weekly Shonen Sunday manga by Gosho Aoyama—which has been serialized since 1994, racking up 85 volumes and counting along the way—the Case Closed anime series has quite the history behind it. It's been running since 1996, and soon you'll be able to catch the latest episodes on Crunchyroll.

Crunchyroll has another announcement today, with the addition of Akatsuki no Yona to the fall anime simulcast lineup. The series is set to broadcast every Tuesday starting October 7 at 8:00am Pacific Time. Free members will be able to catch episodes a week after they debut.

Akatsuki no Yona is based on the manga by Mizuho Kusanagi, and produced by Studio Pierrot (Naruto Shippuden, Sabagebu! -Survival Game Club!-). It will be available worldwide except Asia.

Crunchyroll's synopsis:

Akatsuki no Yona centers around the princess of the Kingdom of Kouka, Yona. Despite her father’s disapproval, she’s in love with and plans to marry her cousin, Soo-won. However, her world gets turned upside down on her 16th birthday, and she is forced to flee from the palace. With the broadcast of Space Dandy over and the month of October underway, the Twitter account for the series has posted an illustration and message from Shingo Natsume, director on the series and episode director for the first, last and season 1 finale. Accompanying the ghostly, yokai-style take on the crew, Natsume noted the typhoon approaching Japan this weekend, then sincerely thanked the viewers and expressed hopes for a sequel.

Daitoshokan no Hitsujikai – A Good Librarian Like a Good Shepherd (literally “The Shepherd of the Great Library”) is based on a visual novel by August, creators of Fortune Arterial. In the original Daitoshokan, the player controls Kyotaro Kakei, and ordinary (?!) boy who interacts with five main heroines. I’m attending a midnight launch for the new Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS and of course I’m super excited. In the coming days, if you see a Mega Man on wi-fi called Nobie, that’s me. Let’s fight like gentlemen.

Speaking of Mega Man, I’ve already played the hell out of the demo. While this only gives me limited exposure to the cast and how they can fight against Mega Man, one thing I do want to say about the character is to not give up on him. He may seem awkward and clumsy at first, but it’s because he’s actually really counter-intuitive to how you’d typically play a character in Smash Bros. All of you aspiring Blue Bomber players, keep that in mind!

Nearly 100-years-old, a silent film Sherlock Holmes starring William Gillette has been discovered at the Cinémathèque Française. Even thought the 1916 film isn't the first Holmes film ever made, it is the only one starring Gilllette, from whom we get a fair number of Holmes' most famous quirks.
