VIDEO: "Fate/stay night: Unlimited Blade Works" Hour-Long Episodes 0 and 1 Specials Ad

One-upping anime studio ufotable's Fate/zero adaptation, their adaptation of Type-Moon's Fate/stay night modern fantasy visual novel will be kicking off with two hour-long specials. Episode 0, "Prologue," will air October 4th, followed by Episode 1, "Day of Winter, Night of Destiny," on the 11th.

 

Episode zero is being shown at today's preview screening in ufotable's home town of Tokushima. Episode one is being shown at the other Japanese and international locations.

"Attack on Titan" Spoof Accompanies Latest "The Seven Deadly Sins" Anime Trailer

In a bit of Kodansha fellowship, Attack on Titan is helping to launch the new adaptation of The Seven Deadly Sins with a special spoof collaboration visual, featured on titanic promo art, such as a 7.4 meter tall billboard at Shinjuku station. At that height, The Seven Deadly Sin's giant, Diane, is almost life-size.

VIDEO: "The Legend of Korra" Video Game: Behind The Scenes with Platinum Games

Producer Atsushi Kurooka and the folks at Platinum Games have discussed their third-person beat 'em up video game adaptation of The Legend of Korra in a video posted on PlayStation's Youtube station. The game inspired by the animated show's first two seasons, with mini-games such as pro-bending matches and a Naga endless-runner will  be released on October 21st for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4, and on 22nd for Xbox 360 and Xbox One.

Toru Furuya Voices Sabo in the Upcoming "One Piece" TV Anime Episodes

One Piece's official portal site One Piece. com revealed today on September 26 that 61-year-old veteran voice actor Toru Furuya is voicing Sabo, the adopted brother of Monkey D. Luffy and Portgas D. Ace, in the upcoming episodes of the TV anime series. He was chosen by Eiichiro Oda himself, the original creator of the manga, in the secret audition for Sabo. The character voiced by Furuya will start appearing from the 663rd episode scheduled to be aired on September 28. By the way, Mayumi Tanaka, the voice actress for Luffy is now 59 (born in 1955), so the two are in the same generation.

   

Toru Furuya made his debut as a professional voice actor for the protagonist "Kid" in Kaizoku Oiji/The Pirate Prince in 1966 when he was 13 years old. The first anime character made him so famous among the Japanese general public was Hyuma Hoshi in Kyojin no Hoshi/Star of the Giants in 1968-1971 (1st series) and its sequels. He has played various anime characters for more than 48 years,

including Amuro Ray (Mobile Suit Gundam series), Pegasus Seiya (Saint Seiya series), Kyosuke Kasuga

(Kimagure Orange Road), Yamcha (Dragon Ball series), and Mamoru Chiba/Tuxedo Mask (Sailor Moon series).

First Volume Of "Mawaru Penguindrum" Manga To Be Released Soon

The first volume of the manga adaptation of Kunihiko Ikuhara's Mawaru Penguindrum will be released on September 24th in Japan! The manga's author, Isuzu Shibata has been posting countdown illustrations on her blog featuring characters from the series to celebrate the launch, especially the ones who have never been drawn in color for the manga. The Mawaru Penguindrum manga started running in the monthly magazine Comic Birz in 2013.

VIDEO: "Fate/hollow ataraxia" PS Vita Port 30-Second Preview Features Ufotable Opening

Fate/hollow ataraxia, the visual novel sequel set half a year after Fate/stay night, is set for release on PS Vita in a port featuring touch-screen support, full voice acting, a new ufotable opening, theme by Aimer and mini-games including the new tower defense Capsule Servant and a return to Illya's Castle. In time for Tokyo Game Show, a new 30-second spot offers glimpses of the opening.

 

The game is set to be released in Japan November 27th.

VIDEO: NisiOisiN Concludes "Monogatari" and Launches New Series

Watch out Kate! NisiOisiN is doing another detective series!

This week kicks off a festival celebrating novel and manga author NisiOisiN that starts with the September 19th release of Zoku Owarimonogatari, the conclusion of his modern fantasy Monogatari series' final season, and runs through the October 16 debut of his new series Okitegami Kyoko no Bobiroku. VOFAN illustrates the story of the forgetful detective, who will solve the mystery before it's forgotten!


The first printing of Zoku Owarimonogatari has a special bonus message from the author while Kyoko's first print has a special after story.

"Yuri Kuma Arashi" TV Anime Now Slated For January Premiere

Following a countdown which confirmed director Kunihiko Ikuhara's latest anime project in Yuri Kuma Arashi, which was wrapped under the wider Penguinbear banner that also involves the manga tie-in running in Monthly Comic Birz since February, the latest update to the official site now features an airdate of January 2015 on the same TV network that aired Marawru Penguindrum in MBS.

With the airdate confirmed, we won't have to wait too long to see what Ikuhara has planned for his devoted fans following the debut of the project in 2012 and the animation short teaser in 2013.
