Battle of the Day: Hungry Octopus Kidnaps Crab and Eats It for Lunch
Porsche Indrisie was watching a little crab just chill out on the rocks in Yallingup, Australia when terror struck.
An octopus shot out of the water and quickly dragged the creature beneath the surface.
Indrisie captured the entire moment on video, and you can hear her screams of horror as she witnessed the attack.
Who knew these 8-legged beasts could move so fast? Even sharks are no match for them.
Be afraid, be very afraid.

Dreams do come true: 'DuckTales' is returning to TV in 2017

Pack your bags, we're going back to Duckburg
Yes, we're serious
Disney Channel on Wednesday announced their plans to resurrect DuckTales, the beloved cartoon about Scrooge McDuck and his trio of grandnephews that originally aired back in the late '80s and early '90s
Characters Scrooge, Donald Duck and rambunctious triplets Huey, Dewey and Louie are set to lead the new series, which will still be titled DuckTales and set to launch in 2017 on Disney XD.
And before you ask, yes, there are other characters also set to return, including butler Duckworth, inventor Gyro Gearloose, pilot Launchpad McQuack, Scrooge's archenemy Flintheart Glomgold, villainous Magica DeSpell & Poe, Ma Beagle and the Beagle Boys (Burger Beagle, Bouncer Beagle), nanny Mrs. Beakley and Webby. "If I were to say, 'Fill in the blank: Cheese and ______', most people would say 'crackers' right away. Well, beer is made from the same ingredients as crackers (plus a few extras), so to me it just makes sense to put them together," says Jesse Vallins. But of course, when it comes to beer and cheese, some matches turn out tastier than others. We asked beer pros for their general tips and a few must-try pairings. Read More
Disney Is Reviving ‘DuckTales’

For anyone who grew up in the Eighties or Nineties, DuckTales was just a part of your life. You sang the song, you knew the characters, you made sure to be in front of the TV whenever new episodes were on. Now, Disney will present new tales of daring on Disney XD in 2017. Read more about the DuckTales remake below.
Here’s the press release about the DuckTales remake. More after:
Whether you grew up on the Disney Afternoon, or you’re just a fan of iconic Disney animation, we think you’ll be excited to learn that an all-new DuckTales, an animated comedy series based on the Emmy Award-winning series treasured by a generation of viewers, has been ordered for launch in 2017 on Disney XD channels around the world. Set to be produced by Disney Television Animation (DTVA), the new series will again star Disney’s enduringly popular characters: Scrooge McDuck, his grandnephews Huey, Dewey, and Louie, and Donald Duck. The announcement was made today by Marc Buhaj, Senior Vice President, Programming, and General Manager, Disney XD.
Buhaj said, “DuckTales has a special place in Disney’s TV animation history, it drew its inspiration from Disney Legend Carl Barks’ comic books and through its storytelling and artistic showmanship, set an enduring standard for animated entertainment that connects with both kids and adults. Our new series will bring that same energy and adventurous spirit to a new generation.”
The new series’ adventures will once again take viewers along as Scrooge McDuck, his curious and mischief-making grandnephews—Huey, Dewey, and Louie—and the optimistic-yet-temperamental Donald Duck embark on high-flying adventures worldwide. Other beloved characters slated to be in the new stories are: Duckworth, Gyro Gearloose, Launchpad McQuack, Flintheart Glomgold, Magica DeSpell & Poe, Ma Beagle and the Beagle Boys (Burger Beagle, Bouncer Beagle), Mrs. Beakley, and Webbigail Vanderquack.
A generation’s seminal cartoon, the Emmy Award-winning DuckTales led the daily syndicated cartoon block “The Disney Afternoon” with 100 episodes produced by DTVA from 1987–‘90. An animated theatrical film, DuckTales the Movie: Treasure of the Lost Lamp, premiered in 1990.
The original DuckTales is currently available on WATCH Disney Channel, an app that allows consumers to watch on tablet, phones, computer, and set top boxes.
Disney Interactive features several DuckTales-themed items in the Disney Infinity toy box. A music video of the familiar DuckTales theme song (with real ducks) has amassed more than six million views since September 2014 on the popular YouTube channel “Oh My Disney.”
So all the classic characters will be back, and it sounds like the same adventurous tone will be present. You have to think it’ll be computer animated this time, so it’ll look more modern, but other than that there’s really nothing about the show that grounded it to its time. It’s a timeless family adventure and I know I’ll be excited for a new generation to check it out in a few years.

Mary Poppins, practically heavy metal in every way

While the sound of it might be something quite atrocious, if you thrash it loud enough you'll always sound precocious.
That seems to be the mantra of YouTube video remixer Andy Rehfeldt, who has created a heavy metal cover of the Mary Poppins classic Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious full of guitar shreds and guttural growls, with vocals from Sera Hatchett from Mercy Brown.
Turn up to the requisite 11 and enjoy.

Feeding kids peanut products could actually reduce risk of allergy

LONDON — It might sound counterintuitive, but a new study by British scientists says that feeding children peanut products could dramatically reduce the risk of an allergy developing.
In trials involving 640 infants at high risk of being susceptible to a peanut allergy, researchers from King's College London found that the early introduction of peanuts decreased the number of cases. The research was published in the New England Journal of Medicine
The study found that when the children reached 60 months of age, 13.7% of participants in the group avoiding peanuts had developed an allergy, compared with 1.9% in the group eating peanut products Read more...

Fatbobnot what i expected, pretty fucking cool
This morning Adi Shankar released Power/Rangers, a “bootleg short film” directed by Joseph Kahn (Torque, Detention), co-written by Dutch Southern (Bad Turn Worse) and starring James Van Der Beek (Dawson’s Creek) and Katee Sackhoff (Battlestar Galactica). Described as “a twist on the Power Rangers mythos”, the short film is a a well crafted brilliant fx-heavy send-up of dark and gritty fan films while also somehow being a fun addition to the genre. Watch the R-rated Power Rangers short film after the jump.
Joseph Kahn’s Power Rangers Short Film
Kahn, not even a fan of the Power Rangers, told Hitfix that the the concept of making a dark and gritty reboot of a silly property is what drew him to the idea:
“I think the trick that I really wanted to do with this was to make that dark and gritty version that everybody keeps talking about, but really do it. Really see if I could totally accomplish it with essentially a really incredible incredibly silly property.”
But don’t expect Lionsgate to hire Kahn for the big screen film adaptation they are currently developing, he’s not interested:
“The irony here is that I wouldn’t even want to make “Power Rangers: The Movie’ for real. Like if I had to make a ‘Power Rangers’ movie, this is it. It’s 14 minutes long and it’s violent and this is what I have in me. If they offered me the 200 million version, the PG-13 version, I literally wouldn’t do it. It’s just not interesting to me.”
And I agree with Kahn, I’m not sure we need a feature length version of this. Here is a self-indulgent parody introduction video by Adi Shankar explaining “Why Bootleg The Power Rangers?”:
Producer Adi Shankar‘s (The Grey, Dredd, Lone Survivor, The Voices) first Bootleg featured Thomas Jane reprising his role as The Punisher along side Ron Pearlman in The Punisher: Dirty Laundry. The second bootleg film featured Ryan Kwanten as the iconic Spiderman villian Venom in Venom: Truth In Journalism. And the third installment featured Shankar reinterpreting Dredd (a film he executive produced) as a hyperviolent animated webseries in Judge Dredd: Superfiend.
