Halloween Wreaths Are A Thing Now, And They’re Creepily Awesome
MollystixSo while scrolling through this I thought, man it would be hilarious to share this and put, "All of these are Tom's favorite." Then I kept scrolling and thought, I can't share this, it loses its funny by being too long. Then I kept scrolling and decided I had to share because there are too many not to share. Good luck making it to the end.
Also, these are Tom's favorite, his words.

The amazing reason that medals at the Paralympics make a sound when you shake them.
MollystixCool!
At the Olympic Games, you can see what victory looks like.

At the Paralympic Games, you can hear it too.

For the first time, winning Paralympic athletes are receiving medals filled with tiny steel balls, which allow champions with visual impairment to experience their wins aurally — by shaking them.
U.S. swimmer Bradley Snyder listens to his gold medal. Photo by Buda Mendes/Getty Images.
The number of balls increases by place — 16 for bronze, 20 for silver, and 28 for gold — so that the medals each make a different sound.
"Our hope, and I think it's the Olympic Committee's hope too, is that this becomes the style," Victor Hugo Berbert, the manager overseeing the medal's sound feature, told the International Business Times. "That the next games bring other sensory elements for the athletes and that this might carry on."
Though Paralympic medals have featured braille before, the shakeable medal is an attempt to make the games even more accessible to all athletes with disabilities.
The pre-cursor to the modern Paralympics — then called the Stoke-Mandeville Games — first took place in London in 1948. The athletes, mostly disabled World War II veterans, had to be in wheelchairs to compete.
By the time the Paralympic Games were officially founded in 1960, visually impaired competitors, amputees, paraplegics, and persons with cerebral palsy still couldn't participate. Paraplegic athletes were first included in 1968 and after 16 years of organizing and lobbying — led by the International Sport Organization for the Disabled and its 16 affiliated countries — the games finally granted inclusion to blind and amputee athletes in 1976, and athletes with cerebral palsy in 1980.
Since 1992, the games have been hosted in the same city as the Olympics to foster a sense of equality between the two events.
A representative for the games told PRI that athletes have been referring to the rattling of the medal as the "sound of victory."

For winners with vision loss and their competitors, it's a hugely welcome development.
But don't worry, champions: They still taste like victory too.

Mom Sends 13-Year-Old Daughter To Buy Feminine Hygiene Products, And Result Is Hilarious
Mollystix"SMASH THE PATRIARCHY"
There comes a point in every girl’s life when…well…certain things start to happen to their body. Like, you know, the whole period thing. But while adjusting to this change can be a little difficult, it isn’t half as difficult as finding the required “feminine hygiene products” in the supermarket. Why? Because (whisper it) vaginas are secret, that’s why.
Check out this hilarious exchange between Belinda Hankins and her 13-year-old daughter to see what we mean. She recently posted it on Facebook and it’s since gone viral with more than 50k shares.

Belinda Hankins recently shared these funny texts after her daughter went to buy “feminine hygiene products”
As you can see, it didn’t take her daughter long before she ran into trouble
Eventually she found them in the “Secret Section”
She even drew a map to the “The Vagina Zone”
What Happens When Architectural Designer Tries Baking Desserts
MollystixThese are nice to look at.
What happens when an architectural designer likes to bake? Dinara Kasko is what happens.
The Ukranian pastry chef is the master of combining baking with geometric figures and architectural designs. She approaches her desserts as if they were buildings, and creates the most unique edible structures ever. “I have many unrealized ideas and a great desire to experiment. I don’t want to imitate others; I want to create something new,” Kasko told So Good Magazine. And she sure does! The only question now is, how do you eat something so beautiful?!

Guy Gets Photobombed By Whale
MollystixNo thanks.
You may have some pretty awesome selfies on your Instagram, but we bet it’s nothing close to the one that is taking over the Internet now – Will Rosner’s jaw-dropping selfie with a 15 meter humpback whale! Rosner is a 24 year-old Australian carpenter who has been travelling the world for the last 18 months. However, nothing could have prepared him for an incredible encounter with a pod of humpback whales he had while diving in the pristine waters of Tonga – all captured with his camera.
Rosner reported he was lucky enough to swim with about six whales over six hours. Rosner said that the whale in the selfie was dancing and singing and splashing water on Rosner. At one point the cheeky whale even lifted Rosner on his tail! ‘It really put on a show for us’, said Rosner to The Sun. We can see Rosner grinning from ear to ear, and it even seems that the playful whale behind his back is smiling too. Okay, maybe we are going too far, but we couldn’t help falling in love with this whale’s joyful personality.

Clever Teacher Puts Cycling Machines Under Her Students’ Desks To Get Them To Focus
MollystixWhy not less school, or do school better?
Sitting through a whole hour-long class without fidgeting is tough. Especially when you’re a kid and that class is maths. Luckily, a math teacher from Wake County may have found a solution.
Bethany Lambeth has placed cycling machines under her students’ desks to get them to stop fidgeting and start focusing. “Before they were drumming on their desks, they were touching other people, they don’t do that anymore,” Lambeth said. “Their feet are getting the movement out. There has been a huge increase in the quality of our student’s work and a decrease in the amount of missing work.” The best part? The students are enjoying it! “It keeps me exercising and focused,” one student said. While another, who pedaled 5.5 miles and burned 133 calories before 10 a.m, said: “I’m a really energetic person, so this takes all my energy out.”
Each desk cycle costs around $150, but if it gets kids focused, it’s a small price to pay, right?

Solar-Powerd Pipe Designed To Desalinate 1.5 Billion Gallons Of Drinking Water For California
MollystixScience!
As California faces water scarcity in the coming years, the amount of energy needed to produce water will surely increase. Luckily, designs like ‘The Pipe’ may be able to solve California’s severe water shortage problems.
Submitted to LAGI (Land Art Generator Initiative) – a design competition for the city of Santa Monica, The Pipe was designed by the Canadian engineering firm Abdolaziz Khalili and Associates. Not only is The Pipe a wonderful piece of art, but it also “represents a change in the future of water”. According to Khalili Engineers, The Pipe could annually generate 10,000 MWh and desalinate 1.5 billion gallons of drinking water.
“What results are two products: pure drinkable water that is directed into the city’s primary water piping grid, and clear water with twelve percent salinity. The drinking water is piped to shore, while the salt water supplies the thermal baths before it is redirected back to the ocean,” the design reads.

This Instagram Proves That A Florists’ Job Is The Best Thing Ever
MollystixWow, those flower combinations are gorgeous. So artistic.
This Floret Flowers Market Instagram feed shows heaven on Earth. Trucks full of flowers, buckets of daffodils and arms full of peonies seems like a fantasy, but for Erin Benzakein, the owner of Floret Flowers, it’s everyday usual.
Erin is a florist, photographer, writer and a mom of two living in Skagit Valley, WA. Years ago Erin left the big city to pursue a simpler life in the country. She began growing flowers after planting some sweet peas in honor of her great grandmother, who had introduced her to gardening. “When the first flush of sweet peas bloomed in our new garden, it felt as if she were there with me. I knew I had found my calling,” claims Erin on her website.
Now the family has a thriving farm, design studio and learning center, which offers lessons for anyone interested in botanical arts. A real dream-come true!

Someone Is Crocheting REAL Pokémon Toys And Leaving Them At PokeStops For Others To Find
MollystixCute!
If you live in Texas and you like Pokémon Go then you might be in for a nice surprise the next time you visit your local PokeStop, because somebody is crocheting tiny Pokémon characters and leaving them for trainers to find while out trying to catch ’em all.
The “self taught and generally crafty person” behind them is a mum of two who goes by the name of Knotty Nicole. She refers to herself as an “avid gamer, foodie, and crafty geek” and her adorable crocheted creations are just as collectible as their virtual counterparts. They’re part of a project she calls #CrochetGo and so far she’s made everything from Tangelas to Magicarps, Oddishes to Jiggly Puffs. She’s even made her designs available for free online, so if you don’t live in Texas then don’t worry because you can still crochet ’em all.
Olympic Runners Who Came Last After Helping Each Other Get Moved To The Finals
MollystixWow.
Yesterday, runners Abbey D’Agostino (USA) and Nikki Hamblin (New Zealand) left the world touched while competing in the women’s 5,000-meter event in Rio.
During the race, somewhere around 3,200 meters, runners Abbey D’Agostino and Nikki Hamblin collided. Hamblin was running when she suddenly had to slow her pace to avoid contact with another runner and then D’Agostino bumped into her from the back, bringing them both to the ground. As D’Agostino was getting up, she noticed Hamblin was hurt and needed help.
“When I went down it was like, ‘what’s happening? Why am I on the ground?’ Hamblin told the press. “And suddenly there’s this hand on my shoulder, like ‘get up, get up, we have to finish this!’ I’m so grateful for Abbey for doing that for me. That girl is the Olympic spirit right there.”
Both girls eventually made it to the finish line. Even though Hamblin came in second to last and D’Agostino came in last with her twisted ankle, their good sportsmanship got them into the finals. What a beautiful race!
