Pinball wizardry has a dark side – score too many consecutive sixes and you might just unleash Satan all over your table. Demon’s Tilt is an offbeat pinball game launching into early access this month, on January 22nd. Developed by Wiznwar and seemingly inspired by Naxat’s old 16-bit Crush Pinball series, players bat their balls up through a multi-screen table, battling swarms of small monsters and pummelling larger boss enemies as they rack up the points. I still have a soft-spot for the Crush games, so it’s great to see a modern tribute. Down the drain to the trailer below.

Hello Games' No Man's Sky is under investigation by U.K. agency the Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) for how the developer marketed the game on the Steam digital store.

According to Eurogamer, while the ASA isn't providing details at the moment, one complaint filer and Reddit user, AzzerUK, has been contacted by the ASA. AzzerUK says that in the ASA's response, the agency has contacted both Hello Games and Steam owners Valve over assets not showing elements in the final product such as the behavior of ships and animals, large-scale space combat, and aiming systems and the general user interface.

If the ASA sides against the advertising, Hello Games and Steam would have to remove the advertising.

Earlier today, Valve announced the November launch date for Steam Machines, console-like PC gaming rigs that run SteamOS on a Linux variant.

Dell was the first to announce details of its selection of Alienware Steam Machines, which will range in price from $449 to $749.

Cyberpower is now detailing its Syber Steam Machines which run for $499, $729 or $1419 depending on the specs. As with the Alienware Steam Machines, Syber ship on Nov. 10, with some pre-orders shipping out to customers early on Oct. 16.

Here's the breakdown on the three Syber Steam Machines:

When a monster storm forces the early evacuation of the first manned mission to Mars, Damon's Mark Watney is stranded on the red planet and assumed dead. Unfortunately, it does not appear that he survives by discovering Prothean ruins, the monolith, or a face. Fortunately, it doesn't look like Prometheus' Engineer makes an appearance either.

Here we go, time for Fallout 4 leaks to potentially begin!

Mirada Studios was set up by director Guillermo del Toro, Mathew Cullen,cinematographer Guillermo Navarro and executive producer Javier Jimenez, to work on "a convergence of perspectives focused on advancing the art and science of storytelling," according to the company's page. Destructoid found a Linkedin profile from a Mirada contract artist that showed four months of work on a cinematic trailer for Fallout 4.

There may come a day when there's no more need for (by now) tired, cheap-shot references to how
effortlessly satisfying the Marvel movies have been versus the endless cycle of self-inflicted stumbles Warner Bros. DC Cinematic Universe has undergone.

A day when we can actually look forward to the JUSTICE LEAGUE-adjacent features with "I hope it's good" anticipation and not "I wonder what *type* of trainwreck" anticipation.

A day when it's no longer appropriate to point out the disparity between a studio dithering over whether or not a woman can carry a feature film versus another putting a talking raccoon on a marquee.

A day when you can assume that at least *some* ideas are too stupid to not make it into the post-MAN OF STEEL DC movieverse.

But it is not this day.

Things to note:

- The chrome trooper wearing the cape(!) is almost assuredly Gwendoline Christie’s Captain Phasma

- First look at the flame-throwing stormtroopers! (FUN)

- Much better look at the detail on Kylo Ren’s mask and costume

- That Imperial Shuttle looks like an evolved version of the Lamdba-class shuttle from RotJ

- TIE fighters!  Looking pretty much the same!

- The symbol in top right of the second poster is intriguing.  It’s similar to the Imperial symbol - maybe a newer version of that?

- These (especially the top one) kind of look like Drew Struzan’s work.  There were rumors he’d be back.  And even if these aren’t his, they’re reminiscent of his style.

SO EXCITING.  And much more will be coming too!

This should be the new “is your Batman remotely like Batman” test. Can your version of Batman be caring enough to hold and care for a small child, yet still menace four criminals into surrendering, and even then still not be scary enough that a civilian can just go up to him and say “hey you holding that baby wrong, you clearly do not know what you’re doing. Let me help.” And he accepts her help, doesn’t try pretend he doesn’t need help because it’d hurt his image. 

That’s Batman.

Star Wars: Rogue One is the title of the first Star Wars film outside the main series, Lucasfilm and Disney announced today.

Rogue One will be the first in a separate series of movies that focus on "the characters and events beyond the core Star Wars saga," said Lucasfilm on the official Star Wars website. Filming will begin this summer in London, directed by Gareth Edwards based on a script by Chris Weitz (About a Boy, Antz). As previously announced, Rogue One is set to premiere Dec. 16, 2016. Lucasfilm and Disney originally announced the project in May 2014.
