The Taste of Des Plaines is returning to downtown Des Plaines, and it’s tastier than ever.

Back in February an interesting take on the Nike Air Huarache retro came and went. Dubbed “Poison Green”, the shoe featured a new mesh forefoot as a jet black upper allowed for the bright green shade to light up the unique heel construction and Huarache branding on the neoprene mesh tongue. An interesting take away from the pair was the outsole that featured a shade of light blue as if to mimic the icy effect, but it ditched the translucence. Next weekend marks the official release of the Nike SB Dunk Low “De La Soul”, which will put a close to Nike Skateboarding’s “Retro” release of these legendary shoes. Prior to the launch date, Nike is highlighting the two originals that release a decade ago in “flipped” form. For those who can remember back to the glorious pink-box era of Nike SB, the original De La Soul Lows dropped in October while the high-top followed a month later, with both pairs prominently featuring the iconic artwork from the 3 Feet High And Rising album. It wouldn’t be the Air Jordan 7‘s 23rd anniversary without returning to one of the most famous colorways in the Jordan Brand archives with the Air Jordan 7 “Hare”. Slated to release May 16th, 2015, this Air Jordan VII marks a special place in the brand’s history. Before there was Space Jam, it was Mike’s seventh signature shoe that first collaborated with the Warner Brother Studio’s infamous rabbit, as an animated Bugs helped sell the shoe across numerous ad platforms. To reward his help, the Hare Jordans were made in his honor. A subtle white and grey base allow for the vibrant splashes of color on the neoprene mesh tongue to stand out. Rumor has it that the array of green and orange was created to honor Bugs’ carrot addiction while a more traditional Chicago ‘True Red’ stands out on the outsole and Jumpman branding. Interestingly enough, you’ll also notice that the Nike Air branding returns on the insole instead of the Jumpman. Be sure to check out more official images below and see if you can reserve your size today via eBay.

The Nike SB Dunk Low has been revamped thanks to a number of upcoming releases with retro inspired takes like the De La Dunks out later this month. But the shoe can still hold down a new colorway not rooted in the Dunk’s storied past. Here we see a premium black leather base and translucent outsole that ditches the ice make up a simplistic return to form while a sparkled, multi-color Swoosh is the main attraction.
