I have a confession to make. I slept on this game when it came out and I’ve not actually played it. The only reason I know about the soundtrack is that it’s in heavy rotation on the Salty Bet stream (which is actually chock full of incredible music). That out of the way, I’ll proceed as usual.
Bayonetta is a third-person action game developed by Platinum Games and released in 2010. It’s in the same vein as games in the Devil May Cry series with over the top stylized action being the major focus. The story focuses on the title character’s quest to understand her past after awakening from a long sleep with no memory.
That’s about all I know about the game to be honest. It’s definitely on the bucket list, but my backlog is already obscene so I don’t know when I’ll get to it. Musically, however, I can say that the soundtrack is quite good. It features a lot of high energy jazzy tracks as well as some really great orchestral tracks. There are many people credited in the music but from what I can tell Hiroshi Yamaguchi was in charge of composing for the soundtrack. His other works include the Okami soundtrack. This is a large soundtrack with a lot of different sounds in it and I’ve enjoyed it quite a bit.
Unfortunately the only list with the whole soundtrack that I could find on YouTube has embedding disabled so you’ll have to hit the link below.
