New season 3 trailer: “The Beast”

by Ours is the Fury

We’ve got a nice surprise today! The trailer we expected to debut in a day or two was uploaded tonight on HBO’s youtube channel. There’s lots of fresh footage in the trailer and glimpses of new characters from the third season of Game of Thrones.

Ours is the Fury: House Tully! Mance! A funeral boat! Too much excitement to stand. I can hardly wait for March 31st now.

Little Snitch sale, Yelp, 9GAG, USPS Mobile, Twittelator Pro, Foursquare for Business, Notabli, price drops, and more

by Élyse Betters
Aaron.lake

For Dave, LittleSnitch 1/2 off this week.

Little-Snitch-10th-Anniversary

9to5Mac has once again scoured the App Store for all the latest app launches, price drops, noteworthy news, and updates, and we have compiled everything in a roundup below. Check it out, but keep coming back as we continually refresh the list throughout the day.

News

1. Little Snitch 50-percent off all week to celebrate 10th anniversaryObjective Development, the developers behind the popular ‘Little Snitch’ network and application monitoring tool, today informed us it’s celebrating its 10th anniversary with a 50-percent off sale. A single license for the software, normally $35, is now available from the developer’s website for under $18.

Since then the little offspring flourished magnificently and became a synonym for the deliberate, attentive and self-determined protection of private data. And the more popular and widespread Little Snitch became over the years, the more often cases became public, where programs deliberately or simply carelessly ignored the protection of personal data, such as a social media program that sent the entire address book without the user’s knowledge to the vendor’s servers. Little Snitch also became famous for uncovering numerous trojans and other malware. Right up to those malicious programs, who took just the mere presence of Little Snitch as a reason to refrain from their malicious performance.

Highly Rated iOS Arcade Space Shooter 'Arc Squadron' is Free for Limited Time

by Jordan Golson
Aaron.lake

For Dave, maybe schweeb.

NewImageOur sister site TouchArcade is continuing its new promotion called "Free Play" in which they work with developers to offer highly rated games for free. The latest offering is the arcade-style space combat game Arc Squadron.
Arc Squadron from developer Psyonix is an arcade-style space combat game built using the Unreal Engine, so it's definitely a visual showpiece title.

Beyond its great looks, though, lies a visceral behind-the-back rail shooter with a heavy influence from the classic Star Fox series. An intuitive touch control scheme translates your taps, drags and swipes into firepower, barrel rolls, and deft ship maneuvers. The controls are what really appeal to me about Arc Squadron, as it feels like you have real hands-on control over your spacecraft, almost like it's an extension of your finger, and it's much more satisfying pulling off cool moves using a scheme like this as opposed to some plain old virtual buttons.

Arc Squadron was originally released this past October and received a 5 star rating from TouchArcade. The game is normally $4.99 and has never been free before. [Direct Link]

Analyst expects Apple stock to drop to $270

by Mike Wehner
Aaron.lake

I know a few people who are going to be very, very sad if that's the case.

Analyst expects Apple stock to drop to $270Apple's stock price has had quite an interesting year. After hitting a record high of over $700 per share in September, the price has been hovering around the $500 mark for several weeks. But as Businessweek reports, that figure just isn't low enough for analyst Edward Zabitsky, who is banking on shares to dive as low as $270.

Zabitsky cites several factors in his argument that Apple's stock is headed for a fall, including competition from the likes of Microsoft and Samsung, and what he sees as unrest in Apple's management. He predicts that the stock will reach the $270 mark within 12 months. Apple's stock price hasn't dipped as low as $270 since September 2010, so a dip that low within a year's time would certainly be a dramatic stumble.

Analyst expects Apple stock to drop to $270 originally appeared on TUAW - The Unofficial Apple Weblog on Wed, 19 Dec 2012 18:30:00 EST. Please see our terms for use of feeds.
