Taken from a suggestion in the comments last week, I’ve found myself a nice little infographic showing the intricate web of the various types of wine. In the beginning, all wine starts with the grapes. There are two varieties – black and green. Red wines use black grapes and can have a variety of tastes. Red wines can be dry or sweet, dark or light. Rosé wines also use black grapes, but they are peeled before the coloring process begins, though a blending of White and Red wine techniques can also result in a Rosé. White wines, as you may have guessed are usually concocted with green grapes and can have a range of rich cream-like or light, vibrant taste. Sparkling wine, like champagne, involves a secondary fermentation process causing bubbles; they can range from Red to Rosé to White coloring. The other type of wine is fortified with spirits, usually resulting in a dessert-like taste though dry fortified wines do exist.

Each of these wines has it’s own subsection of being High Tannin, Round or Spicy. High Tannin refers to a taste that dries the mouth, kind of like the feeling of the tongue after licking a popsicle stick (but tastier). Round taste has less tannin and a more balanced acidity resulting in a lush or smooth sensation. Spicy wines have higher acidity and higher alcohol giving a tartness to the taste. Think pineapple juice over apple juice. All in all, this is a very informative infographic, it taught me a few things about one of my favorite beverages. Hope you felt the same.

Tyler Cowen gets the best email. Case in point is this advice from a former cab driver on the best way to get your stolen car back:

If your car is ever stolen, your first calls should be to every cab company in the city. You offer a $50 reward to the driver who finds it AND a $50 reward to the dispatcher on duty when the car is found. The latter is to encourage dispatchers on shift to continually remind drivers of your stolen car. Of course you should call the police too but first things first. There are a lot more cabs than cops so cabbies will find it first -- and they're more frequently going in places cops typically don't go, like apartment and motel complex parking lots, back alleys etc. Lastly, once the car is found, a swarm of cabs will descend and surround it because cabbies, like anyone else, love excitement and want to catch bad guys.

Había visto muchas cosas en intenet, pero todavía no conocía (supongo que por mi ignorancia) que existiesen páginas que se dedicasen a convertir imágenes porno en SFW (safe for work, sin peligro para el trabajo). Tampoco creo que los que estéis currando ahora mismo podáis andar poniéndolas de fondo de pantalla, pero sí es cierto que, aunque sea fácil intuir su sentido original, estas imágenes están tan “dulcificadas” que hasta las podrían ver niños sin demasiado problema (bueno, algunas más que otras).

A continuación os dejo más imágenes de esta web y os cuento una interesante historia sobre mi compañero Jimmy que os encantará leer.

Resulta que mi socio de fatigas en estos más de 5 años de Pixfans, se pilló un día un cabreo porque alguien nos estaba copiando posts y además hacía hotlink en las imágenes, por lo que no solo nos plagiaba sino que también nos comía ancho de banda. Ni corto ni perezoso, decidió hacerle una putada, cambiando una de las imágenes por un “goatse”, que venía a ser la imagen de arriba pero sin la afortunada capa de pintura, para que le saliese en su web a ver si así aprendía. Como era tarde y Jimmy venía un poco tajado de una fiesta, tuvo un ligero fallo, y la imagen en cuestión apareció también en la cabecera de Pixfans durante bastantes minutos. Por fortuna, algún alma caritativa conocida se dio cuenta y lo llamó por teléfono, por lo que pudo arreglar un desaguisado que dejó algunos comentarios señalando nuestro mal gusto, algún que otro visitante espantado que no volvería y unos cuantos sonoros Aaaaarghhh!!. Después de ver la imagen con este tratamiento nos reímos los dos recordando la anécdota, y Jimmy quería que pusiera la imagen como homenaje. Ahí os queda. Por cierto, éste fue el “inocente” post en cuestión.

Solo quería que mi mujer simplemente comiese la pizza como una persona normal. Mira eso, babeándola toda. Qué desgracia…
