Steve Bannon has been removed from the National Security Council, according to a memorandum released by the White House on Wednesday.
Bannon, Trump's White House chief strategist, was added to the NSC shortly after Trump took office. The move received criticism both from the media and Congress.

The White House seems to be spinning this story two ways: (1) Bannon was put on the NSC as a check on former National Security Adviser Michael Flynn. Now Flynn is gone, so Bannon is leaving too. (2) Obama's NSC was bad, bloated, and "operationalized," and Bannon was there to oversee the transition of it back to a small, sleek, advisory committee. Now the reform project is over, so he is done.

The first explanation doesn't make a ton of sense. Flynn was fired back in early February, and presidents typically don't hire people who can't be trusted to be national security adviser.
I'm no management expert, but WH putting Bannon on NSC solely out of fear WH's chosen NSA might do something crazy seems an odd explanation
Mr. Trump criticized media outlets, including The New York Times, for failing to adequately cover the Rice controversy — while singling out Fox News and the host Bill O’Reilly for praise, despite reports this week that the veteran conservative commentator settled five lawsuits filed by women claiming sexual harassment or inappropriate behavior. The president then went on to defend Mr. O’Reilly, who has hosted him frequently over the years.
“I think he’s a person I know well — he is a good person,” said Mr. Trump, who during the interview was surrounded at his desk by a half-dozen of his highest-ranking aides, including the economic adviser Gary Cohn and Chief of Staff Reince Priebus, along with Vice President Mike Pence.
“I think he shouldn’t have settled; personally I think he shouldn’t have settled,” said Mr. Trump. “Because you should have taken it all the way. I don’t think Bill did anything wrong.”

This is like, a perfect example of how tricky charitable acts by the ruling class are. Take most of something then give back a small amount.
Seriously. This is what it looks like when conservatives say private charity will replace the social welfare state. The generous billions of dollars taken from the rich to spend protecting the poor and the environment will be replaced by a slight trickle of millions, given only at the pleasure of the rich.
President Donald Trump reorganized his National Security Council on Wednesday, removing his chief strategist, Stephen Bannon, and downgrading the role of his Homeland Security Adviser, Tom Bossert, according to a person familiar with the decision and a regulatory filing.
National Security Adviser H.R. McMaster was given responsibility for setting the agenda for meetings of the NSC or the Homeland Security Council, and was authorized to delegate that authority to Bossert, at his discretion, according to the filing.
Under the move, the national intelligence director, Dan Coats, and the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Marine Corps General Joseph Dunford, are again "regular attendees" of the NSC’s principals committee.
Of course, Steve Bannon had absolutely ZERO business being on this council from the start. It’s curious why they would make this move now. Perhaps National Security Advisor H.R. McMaster put down an ultimatum and said he’d walk if Bannon wasn’t removed? Stay tuned, there appears to be a lot more to this story.

We have literal records of cats going out of their way to save the lives of children from various dangers, from fires, to dog attacks, to choking to death. Its very easy to look up.
The only cases of cats eating their humans, have always been when their human died and it has been several days without the body being found. Amazingly this tends to line up with the cat not being fed and therefore STARVING.
It’s also a common thing among most pet animals too? Like sorry, your dog will do it too. Hell, ever heard of the the Donner Party? Humans aren’t exempt. When faced with survival, you try and survive.
STOP DEMONIZING CATS FOR BEING ANIMALS.

If you actually truly believe cats are out to get you, and are cold and not affectionate, or whatever else people use to justify demonizing cats… You need to actually look up cat behavior. Your cat who ‘ignores’ you? More often than not is just respecting your space. Your cat who lashes out? Probably not feeling safe in their environment. Your cat brings you gross things? Trying to look after you.
Cats aren’t dogs. They have a set way of communication, and while they can learn dofferent expressions of affection, it will always be less evident than with dogs (who are particularily malleable to human behavior.) This doesn’t mean they are any less loving or capable of bonds.
All it takes is a quick google search to figure out why your cat does what they do. And literally, no cat intrinsically wants to eat babies.
Basically the first few chapters are about using my experiences during GamerGate as a lens to talk about online abuse, referencing other people who’ve had to live through similar campaigns, and talking about the guts of the structures that make it super suck to live and work online sometimes. The rest of the book talks about my time as an activist, trying to work with tech, the government, and all other manners of institutions to make the internet suck less for other people. I go over what worked, what didn’t, and what surprising lessons I learned working with those giants. Then I focus more on what we as individual people can do to avoid falling for misinformation and how to make the internet a safer place for ourselves, the people we love, and total strangers before finishing on a chapter about moving beyond the abuse. I also try to be funny in places to undercut how much it can suck talking about how an abusive ex boyfriend managed to crowdsource his abuse once I finally walked away from him for good, so it’s a very personal story about things a whole lot bigger than me.
