Contratou uma bela modelo bengalesa, e vestindo um jeans da marca, mas compartilhando um belo topless seguido da frase “Made in Bangladesh”, em alusão a um dos países que virou reduto de muitas marcas internacionais para a exploração de mão-de-obra barata, muitas vezes privando trabalhadores locais de condições adequadas de trabalho para reduzir os custos da produção. Atualmente a American Apparel produz toda sua coleção em Los Angeles. No site da empresa se gabam de pagar aos seus funcionários até 50 vezes mais que a concorrência.

A modelo da foto é Muslim Maks, de 22 aninhos, ex-muçulmana e atualmente bem adaptada à cultura ocidental, como podemos conferir na foto. Ela nasceu em Dhaka, capital de Bangladesh, e é filha de pais religiosos e conservadores. Atualmente toda a família mora na Califórnia, EUA.

The saddest part is that EVERY girl regardless of race, sexual orientation, body type, disability, health, age or any other difference between us says phrases such as:
- I actually look pretty today.
- I like my body today.
- I kinda look okay today.
- My face looks terrible but I like my outfit!
And the sad part of this is that we are all shocked when we think we look good. Because WE ARE ALL made to feel bad about ourselves.
We are all taught that there is something wrong with our bodies so do not love them.
Do not love yourself.
And certainly don’t love other girls for having features that are unique to them.
