Kid Fury & Crissle Bringing “The Read” to TV!!!
KVOMG YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS
Fuse Unveils Upfront Slate: New & Returning Series, Premiere Dates, More https://t.co/dajmY0NCCr pic.twitter.com/WzPQLaAgsy
— Deadline Hollywood (@DEADLINE) March 13, 2019
FUSE Media wasted no time in unveiling their slate of new and returning TV shows. We are getting a cooking show starring Young M.A. and a new adult animation show from the team behind the Boondocks and Black Dynamite, but what piqued OP’s interest the most? Hit podcast The Read Starring social media darlings Kid Fury and Crissle is becoming a TV show!
NEW SERIES
-Made From Scratch (Fuse network; 8 x 30’ episodes) – A prime example of the above-mentioned migration of content between platforms that has propelled the growth of Fuse’s audience, the pilot episode of the docu-cooking series featured Latinx rapper Young M.A bonding with her grandmother over food, and generated approximately 4 million views on YouTube. This led to Fuse Media greenlighting additional episodes featuring talent such as T-Pain and Ayo & Teo, and based on the success of those digital episodes, Fuse Media has now decided to turn Made From Scratch into a long-form series for its linear Fuse network, set to have its TV premiere later this year. Produced by the Fuse Content Studio.
-The Read with Kid Fury and Crissle West (working title) (Fuse network; 10 x 30’ episodes) – Inspired by their juggernaut podcast – with more than 85 million listens worldwide and 1.5 million unique listens a month – Kid Fury and Crissle host this talk/variety format that carries over their beloved segments like Hot Tops and The Read, while additionally featuring a special celebrity and/or musician guest. The duo uses their sharp, honest brand of cultural commentary and perceptive opinions to drill deep into the roots of the issues and stories affecting their millennial and Gen Z peers, from social justice and politics to dating and music culture, and everything in between. Chloe Pisello, David Martin, Jon Thoday, and Richard Allen-Turner of Avalon Television will Executive Produce. Kid Fury, Crissle West, and Alexandra Rago are also executive producers.
-Sugar and Toys (Fuse network; 10 x 30’ episodes, premieres June 9 at 11 p.m. ET/PT) – Fuse’s previously-announced first venture into adult animation, Sugar and Toys will premiere as part of Fuse’s new Sunday night programming block. Created by Carl Jones and Brian Ash, producers of Black Dynamite and The Boondocks, this series brings a wild new twist on the Saturday morning cartoons we all grew up with – but a whole lot less innocent. Adult comedy, social commentary and music culture parody crash the cartoon party, speaking directly to the trends and issues most relevant to a millennial audience, and bookended by host and multi-platinum rapper and actor KYLE (Netflix’ The After Party, www.superduperkyle.com). It is executive produced by Aengus James, Colin King Miller, Nicholaus Goossen, Jones and Ash, with Kyle Harvey serving as co-executive producer and Lalo Alcaraz as consulting producer, and produced by This is Just a Test and 245 Enterprises.

Danai Gurira, Pure Flawlessness, at the Thom Browne Fashion Show in Paris
KVstun!
It’s morning. Sit there and drink both your tea and all of this fabulosity.
Did you gasp? We feel like this called for a gasp.
Are you stroking the screen lightly and envisioning yourself dashing around the world in that cloak, solving murder mysteries on yachts and in penthouses? You should be, because that is one stunner of a look. It’s rare for either of us to look at a piece of womenswear and covet it, but DAMN do we want that cloak.

Happy Monday Everyone! Today I back with another recipe of the month post. Which it happens to be another crockpot recipe. My crockpot get used at least once a week in my house. Its the easiest way for me to make dinner for my family. Since I can throw the food in the crockpot.
In the morning. Then when we all get off work we have dinner made. Which this day I took the dinner with me to work. Since I was working a night shift. When I made this recipe I only cook the chicken on low. That way I was able to take the food with me to work.
Over all this dinner is super easy to make. Which I love. Plus it super tasty. If you cook it longer. You can pull the chicken apart and make sandwich. Since my chicken breast were cooked for long. They stay together as whole chicken breast.
You can pair whatever side you would like with the chicken. I just ate some French green beans with it. If you don’t own a crockpot. You so should go and get one.
Linking up with A Labour of Life

Happy Wednesday Everyone! Today I’m hear to share with you all what I brought in February. This month I did good with my shopping habits and only brought that stuff I needed. Like the makeup products. Since I ran out of mascara, brow gel and finishing powder
I could have done with out buying the bralettes but since they were on a good sale at Costco. I picked them up. Since I currently didn’t have any that fit me. I also could have done with out the dry shampoo since I not out of my current one but again it was on sale so I got it.
I picked up the heart tray for my bathroom. Since I was just place my earring on the counter when I was taking them off at night. Now I have a home for them and don’t have to worry about this getting lost or falling down the sink. Over all I’m happy with this month purchase.
My goal for this years budget is to stay under a 1,000.
HAVE A GREAT WEDNESDAY!

Gucci’s “Showtime” Ad Campaign: An Homage to the Golden Age of Hollywood Musicals
KVthis is pretty dreamy
Showtime: an homage to the golden age of Hollywood musicals.
The campaign shot by Glen Luchford is an homage to the beginnings of celebrity culture and the golden age of Hollywood musicals, focusing on the joyful and playful spirit of the era. In gowns with long shimmering beads and sequin suits from the Spring Summer 2019 collection by Alessandro Michele, characters impersonate famed stars from the 40s and 50s. Captured in grand theatres or on movie sets, the images mimic some of the greatest movies of all times including ‘There’s No Business Like Show Business’ the 1954, 20th Century-Fox musical-comedy-drama and ‘Singin’ in the Rain,’ the 1952 musical-romantic comedy.

Gaga snaps at Dr. Luke’s lawyer: "Don’t you roll your eyes at me. You should be ashamed of yourself"
KVgo off, stephanie
Lady Gaga's deposition in support of Kesha in the Dr. Luke legal battle has been released and she said some of the most powerful things you'll read in a long time https://t.co/91CSaOqtO2
— JustJared.com (@JustJared) January 30, 2019
Lady Gaga got in a heated exchange with one of Dr. Luke's laywers while being deposed as part of the ongoing legal battle between Kesha and Dr. Luke. The unsealed deposition began with Lady Gaga's attorney explaining that the singer was experiencing PTSD reactions as a survivor of sexual abuse before the hearing.
"I just want everyone to understand that, as she has publicly stated in other contexts, as a sex abuse survivor, and I know this from my own personal experience with family members, there are trigger events, and this deposition has proved to be a trigger event for Ms. Germanotta and she has experienced in the past few hours some PTSD reactions which is causing some trauma and emotional reactivity. So she is crying now, the record will reflect,” Gaga’s lawyer said.
Gaga started by recounting that she first met Kesha at Luke's home studio. She said Kesha was in a back room wearing only underwear. She then went on to say that Kesha told her about years of alleged abuse by Dr. Luke: "What we discussed was, what I recall was her immense sadness and depression and fear. She was visibly very different than when I had seen her before."
Things began to get heated when Dr. Luke's lawyer asked Gaga if she believed Luke's reputation was damaged by the allegations. She answered, "If you are asking about his reputation in the world, I don’t feel at liberty to speak for the entire world. So if you are asking what my view is of his reputation, I made my view of him and his reputation when I saw her in that back room. That was an image that—of something that happened to me, and I felt and knew in my heart that she was telling the truth, and I believe her."
She was then asked to confirm that she has "no personal knowledge or information" about Dr. Luke’s physical relationship with Kesha, Gaga responded, "Yes, I do have knowledge. She told me that he assaulted her." Dr. Luke’s lawyer then asked for further facts to support that statement, Gaga replied, "Well, when men assault women, they don't invite people over to watch."
Gaga continued: "And when this happens in this industry, it is kept extremely secret, and it is compounded by contracts and manipulative power scenarios that actually include this very situation that we are all in right now."
Dr. Luke’s lawyer then went on to ask, "But, again, there are people that are falsely accused of rape, aren't there? You think there has never been a false accusation of rape?"
Gaga blasted the lawyer questioning her, saying: "How about all of the women that are accused of being liars and how she was slut shamed in front of the world, how about that? I have factual knowledge of her depression," she continued. "I have factual knowledge of her need for support and love. I have factual knowledge of the spiral that I watched that girl go down. I have factual knowledge of trauma. I am informed and intelligent about this issue. That girl has experienced serious trauma and she is in the middle of the right now. And you are all a party to it."
"Why on earth would this girl tell the entire world this happened? Why on earth? Do you know what it’s like for survivors? Do you know what it’s like to tell people? Don’t you roll you eyes at me. You should be ashamed of yourself."
At that point, everyone agreed to take a break.

#JanStewary: A Vegan Chickpea and Roasted Cauliflower Curry Soup
KVyummmm
Before we jump into this Soup Saturday recipe, I wanted to respond to some of you that have taken issue with some of the terminologies we’ve been using since we started talking about souping. Some of you were put off by the idea that “clean eating” meant no grains, no gluten, no dairy, etc., and that this gives food groups a sense of morality that feeds into diet culture (i.e. vegetables are “good and clean”, rice and cheese are “bad and dirty”). We hear you. That wasn’t the intention, though my body does feel so much better and I have far less digestive issues when I cut those things from my diet. Do what feels right for YOU and your body.
Alright, all you vegetarians and vegans. Don’t think we’ve forgotten about you, because we haven’t. In fact, two of the EHD staff members are full-time vegetarians and we’d hate for them to feel left out of the soup club. One of the beautiful things about soup is that it is incredibly easy to experiment with. So many of these soup recipes can easily be made vegetarian or vegan with a few easy swaps (vegetable broth instead of chicken stock, beans/potatoes/chickpeas/tofu instead of meat, and cashew or coconut milk instead of cream to name a few). And vice versa, if you’d rather get your protein the caveman way, shredded chicken, turkey meatballs, or steak cubes are an easy add to any vegetarian or vegan recipe. Seasoned turkey meatballs were a caveman specialty, right?
Now that I’ve (once again) convinced you that soup is the world’s most perfect food, let’s get on with this week’s #SoupSaturday recipe. Today, we’re sharing our very first, totally vegan soup—a hearty, filling, and delicious roasted cauliflower curry. We made this soup as a vegetarian option while we were up at our recent EHD staff retreat and it got 4 thumbs up from our veggie-only staffers. This soup is inspired by and adapted from this recipe from Cotter Crunch, but adapted to fit our soup preferences. We’ve added red peppers to give it a little more crunch, chickpeas to make it super filling and get in some protein, swapped spinach for kale, and used a bag of riced cauliflower to eliminate the use of a food processor.
WHAT YOU NEED
Vegetables
- 1 large onion, chopped
- 1 red bell pepper, chopped
- 6 carrots, diced
- 1 bag riced cauliflower (non-frozen)
- 1 bag spinach
- 2 tablespoons minced garlic (about 1/2 a head if using raw)
Herbs & Spices
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon cumin
- 1/2 teaspoon paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon red pepper (more or less depending on how spicy you like it)
- 3 tablespoons curry powder
- Salt and freshly cracked black pepper to taste
Oils & Canned Goods
- 3 tablespoons avocado oil (olive oil also works)
- 4 cups vegetable broth
- 1/2 can coconut milk
- 1 can chickpeas (rinsed and drained)
HOW TO COOK IT
- Preheat your oven to 350F.
- Start by mixing your riced cauliflower in a bowl along with 2 tablespoons of oil, the curry powder, garlic powder, cumin, paprika, and salt.
- Line a large baking sheet with aluminum foil, and spread the cauliflower and spices mixture onto the cookie sheet. Roast for 20 minutes, stirring at the 10-minute mark to make sure everything is toasting but not burning. When done, remove from oven and set aside.
- Heat oil in a large pot over medium heat, and add onions and garlic. Cook onions until translucent (about 3-4 minutes).
- Add the carrots, red peppers and dried chili pepper. Cook 3-4 minutes mixing occasionally.
- Next, add the vegetable broth, coconut milk, chickpeas, and riced cauliflower.
- Bring to a boil; reduce heat and bring to a simmer. Covered, the soup can simmer for however long you’d like, but let it simmer for at least 15 minutes (so the chickpeas and veggies can soften).
- A few minutes before serving (5 or so), add the entire bag of spinach, stir in, and allow to wilt in soup for a few minutes.
- Season with salt to taste and serve (top with a dollop of dairy-free yogurt or coconut cream if you’re feeling fancy)
This soup is rich, spicy, creamy and VERY filling. The chickpeas add just enough “oomph” to keep vegetarian/vegan bellies full, while adding a decent dose of protein. It’s the perfect bowl of soup for a cold winter day, especially if you like your food on the spicier side.
When it comes to cooking my soups, I’ve been using both a tall stockpot and a dutch oven. Stockpots are thinner, taller, and made to cook stocks and broths (think lots of liquid while also fitting an entire chicken carcass…or pasta). I use my stockpot when I’m making a new batch of bone broth. Dutch ovens, on the other hand, are often made from cast iron, have thicker bottoms, heavy lids, and are made to evenly heat thicker soups and stews without burning them (they’re also great for cooking things other than soups and can usually slide into the oven depending on the handle materials).
Don’t feel like you MUST have one of each to be a successful souper! Broths can be simmered in Dutch ovens, just like stews can easily be prepared in a stockpot. But whether you’re looking for one, do-everything, budget pot or you’re ready to take the plunge into the world of serious souping, here are some of our favorite stockpots and Dutch ovens at three different price points.
Stockpots: T-Fal 12-Quart Nonstick Stockpot | Cook N Home 12-Quart Stainless Steel Stockpot | 12-Quart Nonstick Stockpot
Dutch ovens: Vremi 6-Quart Enameled Cast Iron Dutch Oven | Cuisinart 7-Quart Enameled Dutch Oven | Food52 x Staub 5.5-Quart Round Cocotte

How We Redecorated the Culligan Dollhouse for The Holidays
KVthis is so obnoxious and unfortunately i love it
When I tell people that I’m essentially a spokesperson for water, it gets a good laugh. It’s funny. But it’s true, and honestly, I don’t know a better representative for the Culligan Whole Home system than myself because I LOVE COLD DELICIOUS WATER more than anyone I know. Ask Brian or my entire team. Heck, my agent even knows—he once jokingly asked me if I’d like anything in particular onset and “really cold water” was the only thing I could think of; therefore, it’s in my rider. But the correlation between water and design is a hard one to make. That’s why this partnership is honestly one of the most creative we’ve ever worked on, and frankly, we here at EHD are VERY proud of it.
For one of our last posts with Culligan, we’re styling the Culligan Home, a miniature house built to showcase the Culligan Whole Home Water System. They’ve been following me for years and know my deep love for the world of miniatures, so when they asked “do you want to redecorate and then style out our dollhouse for the holidays?” my giant mouth screamed, “I’D LIKE TO DO NOTHING MORE IN MY WHOLE LIFE.” They shipped it, we assembled it, and our collective creativity was lit on fire by the big possibilities.
I couldn’t do it alone, so my design team (Brady and Emily B.) took this house and DIYed or sourced almost every piece of furniture, a bevy of accessories, window treatments, EVEN MINIATURE MAGAZINES, to create my dream dollhouse. THEY WALLPAPERED, REUPHOLSTERED PILLOWS, AND EVEN MADE AN ACCURATE SOUPING AREA FOR ME IN THE KITCHEN. I can’t with the creativity. I just can’t. My only regret in life right now is that I had to even have the help because I would have loved to have done all of this myself.
To top it off, last year my friends at Barbie made an Emily Henderson Barbie doll, so when this post came along, we reached out to see if they would send it over for us to shoot in the house and there she is, casually lounging in her Barbie-sized porch. This is my favorite thing that has ever happened (besides this week’s flash makeover). So let’s get into a tour of the house, where I’ll show you what my brilliant team did and how, of course, water can affect your WHOLE home. Read every word, unless you don’t want to know how or why we made a real leather slipcovered headboard with miniature leather ties!!!! We have been DYING to show you, and today is the day.
Here’s what it looked like before we got our giant hands on it. It was more contemporary than is our style, but Culligan didn’t ask me to weigh in on the initial design, so we got to work EHD-ifying it.
But first, for anyone who’s like “why did a water company even build a mini home in the first place?” let’s chat about it. The water running through your faucets and plumbing can have negative and positive effects on your home: what you wash your skin and hair with, what your dishwasher uses to wash your dishes, what your washer cleans your clothes with, not to mention what is building up and coming out of your plumbing and faucets. We’ve talked about it throughout the year (in this post and this one).
The Culligan Whole Home System touches almost every part of your home through the water that it filters and softens, so creating a miniature model of this was a perfect and insanely creative way (if I do say so myself) to showcase how important the quality of your water and how you treat it is.
I love water. I love dollhouses. IT’S AN OBVIOUS BRAND CONNECTION.
Every room was decorated and filled with furniture, but we wanted to take it and make it our own. On top of that, we were allowed to deck it out for the holidays and thought it’d be SO MUCH FUN to walk you through what we did in each and every room and how we did it.
Let’s start with the living room.
We moved quite a bit of the furniture around from the original layout and obviously we had to include a Christmas tree (and fireplace) in here to fully prep this home out for the holidays.
Tree: This was a craft store find probably for train hobbyists or the Christmas aficionado that is into mini-trees.
Ornaments: We deconstructed beaded bracelets, then hand-strung them with wire hooks.
Presents: Jewelry boxes and square craft foam were wrapped to give us the selection of sizes that we needed to feel authentic. Just like in our own life-sized living room set up, we curated a collection of patterns and colors so that it didn’t feel too chaotic or crazy. Everything was tied up with bakers twine (again, in our color palette—obviously).
Look how helpful Charlie is with decorating the tree and NOT opening up all of the perfectly wrapped prop presents underneath it. Such a well-behaved 5-year-old (just like in real life).
Skis and wagon: These were Christmas ornaments that just happened to be the perfect 1:12 dollhouse scale. Brian loves skiing!! The kids love wagons—a perfect fit.
Moving over to the fireplace area.
Fireplace: This was one that we didn’t want to attempt a DIY on so it was sourced online and then we decorated it to fit with the rest of the theme.
Stocking holders and stockings: We handmade the stockings out of knit fabric and foil tape to help them keep their shape and then used small push pins to hold them in place. The fireplace logs were created with just a few found sticks (bleached wood, of course). We dressed the top of the mantel with some very, very tiny wood houses that were handmade by Jennifer Urquhart who was one of the artists that we collaborated with for the Portland project.
Tiny trees and wreath: These also came from the craft store in the Christmas section and the wreath is actually a gift topper that we tore apart to create the wreath form.
Curtains and pillows: The original gray curtains weren’t enough pattern for us, so we used a ticking stripe fabric and foil tape to make these curtains. We adhered the foil tape to the back of each flat panel and the rigid tape allows you to bend the curtains into any shape that you want. In our case, the perfectly pleated panel. While we were at it with the custom draperies, we decided to create some custom pillows for the couch. Obviously keeping within our color palette of grays, blues, greens, and patterned black and white. Brady and Emily B. must know me very well if they know that I wanted a mini circular pillow to adorn that couch.
Custom art: Above the couch, we had a big (err small) wall to fill and needed some beautiful art for above the sofa. So Jennifer Urquhart who made those tiny little houses on the mantel also custom carved, stained and painted these three tiny little pieces. In case you want to see what her pieces look like in full scale, click through to the Portland living room reveal where we used her piece behind the green velvet chair in the Portland house.
Rug: In case you were wondering where we got that gorgeous flokati rug from…oh, it’s just some fleece from the fabric store. We bought a half yard and cut it to size (you know…this might not look half bad IRL in a room…no? Too ambitious/delusional?).
The major pieces of furniture (sectional, coffee table, club chairs, and ottomans) were in the original house and we just moved them around into different rooms until we created the perfect arrangement that you see in the living room.
On to the powder bathroom.
Using my strict “only design blue powder rooms” policy, this became our “jewel box.”
Wallpaper and floors: We used Tempapers Burlap peel-and-stick wallpaper on the walls and then we also had them custom print a scaled down version of their Hexagon paper which we used on the floors.
Mirrors and lighting: We covered the existing mirror with a circular craft mirror to give it a little bit of a modern edge and then also recovered the existing sconces with striped paper so that it looked like they were fabric covered shades for betting lighting (they were chrome before).
Bathmat: On the floor, we create a little bath mat out of a larger scale strip to tie in the lampshades and also add some interest on the floor. Man…maybe we should just design mini homes. The rules are the same and yet the work is so much easier and faster. Look at that tiny little faucet that would deliver tiny little Culligan filtered and softened droplets of water to tiny little Emily hands.
Time to talk kitchen and dining room.
When we got the house, all of the main elements were already in the kitchen and dining room, but we wanted to make it feel a little more lived-in. Since it’s the holidays, the dining table became the present wrapping station, complete with tiny pencils and tiny brass scissors (of course) that magically are safe for children of all ages.
Wrapping paper: We made wrapping paper rolls by cutting down patterned paper and then twisting it around itself to look like half unrolled paper.
Bows: The silver and gold bows were actually earrings that we ripped apart so that we could use the individual charms on the presents. You can see them a bit more in the living room shots, but they were so cute and perfect on each little present.
Rug: Under the dining table, we used a scrap of the Acadia Stripe fabric from Kufri. The larger scale stripe works with the striped curtains in the rest of the house and also helps ground the space. I secretly want this rug in real life size.
Over in the kitchen, I requested an area in which to “soup” properly. They pulled it off with miniature sized cutting boards, mini veggies and a big pot of soup on the stove. Post-soup, Brian washes our dishes with soft water coming from our Culligan Whole Home System, which prevents hard water spots from forming on glasses and stops film from gathering on your soup bowls—no one wants a spotted soup bowl. Properly functioning elbows not necessary!
Bedroom time.
This is one of my favorite rooms in the home. It truly looks like it could have been from one of our projects.
Bench: We repurposed a media unit that came with the house and turned it into a bench for the foot of the bed. Perfect place for me to pose.
Bed: The existing bed was “reupholstered” with a scrap of leather and Brady and Emily B. even went to the lengths of adding tiny little leather ties on each side of the bed just like it would have in real life. Insane, and yet so perfect.
Nightstands: Over on the nightstands (which came with the house), we styled it out with a few tiny issues of some of my favorite magazines, a water carafe and a drinking glass (obviously filled with Culligan’s delicious drinking water). Everyone wants some cold refreshing water to grab in the middle of the night, including (and most especially) this lady. The parallels between Culligan Home Emily and Real Emily are uncanny.
Fiddle-leaf fig tree: The handmade fiddle leaf fig tree…I was floored. The pot was made out of a sake cup and then the leaves and branches were made from artificial branches that we cut the shape of to resemble the leaves of a tree in real life.
Wallpaper and Art: We scaled down and printed out a Serena and Lily wallpaper, and for the art we took photos of my actual art and they scaled it down. The blue abstract piece you see here on the right side of the dresser was hanging over my real life living room fireplace most recently, and the black and white floral pieces on the right side of the bed are from Juniper Print Shop, which we actually used in the Portland House guest bedroom (reveal coming soon).
Bedding, pillows and shades: These were all hand-sewn, along with the Roman shades, again with the foil tape to give it some structure.
Come on into the bathroom.
A clean bathroom starts with clean and softened Culligan water. You aren’t gonna get that crystal clear door in that shower you see up there without having the softest water come through your pipes. It’s also easier on your “dollhouse” soft hair and skin.
Hot tip: Simultaneously cleaning with a mini-version of yourself in a mini-house is twice as fast and twice as fun.
Window treatments: The windows needed some new treatments, so we made these Roman shades. We used the same method of foil tape + fabric and then carefully folded the fabric over itself to create the perfect looking pleat.
Rug: The vintage-inspired flatweave rug was made out of scrap fabric from Kufri which we had at the office (it also was the same fabric we used for the bedroom shades).
Art: The walls also got a little bit of life with some small prints from Juniper Print Shop we scaled down and placed in frames above the toilet.
Moving on to the laundry room.
THANK GOD I HAVE AN IRONING BOARD TO IRON MY SHEETS (AND JEANS!).
Wallpaper: The laundry room got some new wallpaper on the walls which is the Acadia Stripe pattern from Serena and Lily. Just like we did in the master bedroom, we scaled down the pattern to the size of the house, printed it and cut it to fit the walls.
Appliances: The washing machine and dryer came with the house already, but Culligan went to the lengths of even including water in the machines so that they looked real. Obviously, they filled it with Culligan softened water (wink) and let me tell you when those doll clothes come out of the washer, they are going to be softer than ever. Their attention to detail was insane and yet so inspiring and is why I love this post so much.
Towels: We cut down a few microfiber cleaning cloths to create the “terry cloth” looking towels that we folded on the top of the countertop.
Roman shades: Same method as before and we used some extra scraps from the downstairs curtains to create these.
Readying this house for the holidays could not have been a more fun project for us here at EHD. Look how happy we both are down there.
Here is how the full house looked with everything in it after we finished all of our decorations and changes:
The entire project was insanely fun, topped off by Brian’s favorite video to date.
I’ve never heard Brian laugh so hard producing a video. YOU HAVE TO WATCH IT. We are honestly just so proud of it.
The project and house took over my office for a month, but I happily shared it. It actually inspired a ton of creativity over here and we are looking at different ways to create and share content next year.
A huge thanks to Culligan for A. pumping softened and filtered water through my house (I ordered and installed the whole system before this partnership came about, and I can honestly say that I love it so much) B. coming up with such a creative concept and C. letting me keep this house to execute all my miniature design fantasies (JK, they want it back, sadly).
Happy (almost) holiday folks from the Culligan (Holiday) Home to yours. Be sure to come back soon and grab a fresh homemade cookie on your way out.
Let us know if you have any questions about anything in the house or how it came together. We tried to cover it all but I am sure you have a few questions for us. A huge thanks to Brady and Emily B. for their weeks of hard work and creativity pulling this together.

Following several other artists who've also redone their hits for different reasons, the one and only Jojo rerecorded and reworked her eponymous 2004 debut album because her previous label took it away from streaming services (this is also kinda a surprise drop??). The songs now feature updated contemporary production and ha newly grown woman singing voice.
Check out the album on iTunes featuring the hits "Leave (Get Out)", "Baby It's You", the Toto "Africa"-sampled "Anything", and her cover of SWV's "Weak".

The Real Catwalk Models on Self-Love, Identity, and Body Positivity
KVi love my family
On December 1st 2018, I, along with over 200 others, gathered in New York to model in the 3rd consecutive “The Real Catwalk” show.
Model Khrystyana Karanova introduced “The Real Catwalk” to the world last year “to empower all to feel beautiful and confident in their bodies,” she shared with Qwear. The flash mob-style show premiered in New York in December 2017 and then had a second life in London in August 2018.
By garnering the support of sponsors such as Salty, KingSize, Roaman’s, Swimsuits for All, and Woman Within, The Real Catwalk provided us with an all-star treatment. Pre-show, models gathered to have breakfast (including mimosa’s!), helped each other pick out pieces to wear, and apply make-up and any last touches. The atmosphere was so uplifting as models creating instant bonds with one another.
The runway show consisted of three sections: au-natural (basic, underwear, and onesies), holiday themed, and sexy vava voom (lingerie, bold prints and styles). Being in Times Square, the models quickly drew a curious crowd of onlookers, many pleased to see individuals promoting body-positivity. It was amazing to witness models walk off the runway feeling much more confident than when they walked on. Once the show ended, models headed to an after party where we continued the celebration with food and music.
The day exemplified the spirit of inclusivity and diversity by featuring models of all ages, ethnicities, genders, disabilities, sexual orientations, and life experiences.
While reporting live at the event for Qwear, I got the chance to talk to models back stage and hear their thoughts on fashion, identity, and the importance of representation.

“This began as my own individual journey of self-love. I want to show the diversity of a whole spectrum of body types. To empower all to feel beautiful and confident in their bodies. There is something vulnerable about showing your body — revealing what was once taught to be concealed.”

“What drew me to The Real Catwalk was the idea of celebrating inclusivity and creating space for diversity to thrive; the walk allows for representation for so many body types, gender identities and ethnicities. Thinking about what fashion means to me — it means an immediate and exciting way of expressing your inner being without having to say a word. It’s also such a fun way to play with the idea of self; who do I want to be today? What ideas can I express today? I think it’s a really beautiful thing.”

“I found out about The Real Catwalk through a very good friend, Daquan, who also participated in the show. The overall experience was just so motivational and let everyone know that sexy does come in ALL SIZES. Having the opportunity to work with Khrystyana was such a blessing because she is so inspirational. I was ready to show Times Square what I got on the runway.”

“I have been a part of The Real Catwalk since the beginning with a small group of people. I am good friends with Khrystyana and fully stand behind the message of loving yourself exactly as you are. As a woman of trans experience, I have had a lot of people try to define me and label me, but ultimately each individual is the only one who should have any power to do that. Fashion to me is about self expression — using garments and accessories as a tool to celebrate yourself.”

“I walked in the show to bring awareness to homelessness and show that just because you are homeless or experiencing some sort of struggle that does not mean you can’t look your best or look sexier than you feel. It actually helps to take the edge off things when you’re dressed for success. The truth is you never know what’s really going on with a person just by looking at them.”

“Fashion has always been a form of expression for me. When I was a teenager and having gone to The Harvey Milk High School, I began to buy women's clothes that would come across as androgynous. I had not disclosed my trans status to my family simply because it was made very clear that my feminine identity was not to be welcomed, tolerated or embraced at home. But the older I've gotten, I'm become more of a risk taker when it comes to fashion. The sky is the limit when it comes to what I can wear.”

“My look was actually inspired by a Disney princess. I just moved from Florida where I'm known at the Disney parks for my princess-inspired fashion choices and since I'm in New York now, I decided to pay homage to Giselle from Disney's Enchanted, which takes place in NY of course.”

“Fashion to me means being able to fully express yourself with clothes; the person you want the world to see — the person you envision in your head, no rules or boundaries. Just fashion.”

Jazmine She/Her/Hers
“In the fashion world, intersctionality is hardly acknowledged, and people are very rarely represented. Major brands get away with the gentrification and cultural appropriation. Influencers, models, and other people in the fashion industry, are not taking a stand. People who should be representing us are staying silent, and not raising our voices up. I was truly honored to walk The Real Catwalk, with over 200 beautiful people, to stand together and say enough is enough.”

Svetlana She/Her/Hers
“I’m such a changed person after The Real Catwalk after meeting so many incredible people with so many stories. I’m now going to stay on my mission of spreading my message of self-love and helping others. I feel so blessed and grateful for this experience.”

“Fashion for me is the most sophisticated form of art. It is a way to express what is in your soul through smile, movement, fabrics and great personalities. It is the language of our soul speaking beauty.”

“Walking The Real Catwalk makes you feel comfortable in your skin. You can be yourself no matter your skin tone, height, or weight. You can show the world what makes you different.”

The South End’s Revolution Hotel is opening complete with co-working space
KVthis is my company :B
The 164-key inn replaces a YWCA and a hostel, and aims for millennials
The Revolution Hotel is scheduled to officially open on Wednesday, December 5, at 40 Berkeley Street in the South End. The 164-room inn replaced a YWCA and a hostel, and is aiming at younger travelers, both business and leisure, as well as creative types.
To that end, the Revolution is conjuring up aspects of Boston’s pioneering past, in particular through artwork—including lavish murals from Los Angeles-based artist Tristan Eaton—and snippets of songs from the likes of Aerosmith, the Cars, and Donna Summer.
The hotel, which Mount Vernon Company developed and Provenance Hotels will operate, also hopes to draw guests with nightly rates lower than the usual for hotels near downtown. Rooms are available now for around $100 a night, for instance.
Finally, the hotel will house a co-working space called Conspire. These photos—all courtesy of Provenance Hotels—show that space, those murals, and the Revolution in general.
Rita Ora in Iris van Herpen Couture at the Cartier Precious Garage Party: IN or OUT?
We know it’s almost everyone’s first instinct to view a Rita Ora red carpet look with some skepticism – and we’re as guilty of that as anyone else, darlings. But we’d love to hear what everyone thinks of this effort because it’s unusual and memorable; two things she rarely nails in her style choices.
Ironically, though the dress was clearly designed to mimic movement, the effect is vastly reduced when the wind hits it and it actually moves. Still, that’s not a criticism. If anything, it makes these shots more dramatic. We really like the design of the dress but we’re very much not in love with the industrial strength bra and panties underneath, nor do we think the color actually does much for her. We know what side of this vote we’d come down on, but we really want to hear from the kittens as to what they think. If nothing else, it’s a discussable lewk – and that’s never a bad thing in the red carpet game.

Amber Heard Opts for the Unsubtle Approach at the U.K. Premiere of Aquaman

On the one hand, this is likely to be one of those Ezra Miller-style red carpet moments that everyone’s going to be talking about forever. On the other hand…
Girl.
GIRL.
GIRL!
PUMP YOUR FASHION BRAKES! THAT IS TOO MUCH FASHION!
We salute her commitment to coming out bold and supporting the hell out of the project. And we’ve gotta give her team a lot of credit for finding couture that looks so right for an Aquaman premiere. She’s hitting the high-fashion, high-drama, and high poledance trifecta of red carpetry. But this is cosplay. Haute couture cosplay to be sure, but definitely cosplay.
It should be noted that Tom, ever the comics nerd, is side-eyeing this one while Lorenzo, fashion queen supreme, is practically swooning over it. One thing’s for sure: it’s unforgettable – and that’s really the only thing that matters.

The “Glitter” Soundtrack Hit #1 On The Charts… In 2018
KVhope for the future
Back in my gay formative years, when the other kids were getting confirmed down at the Baptist church, I was getting religion each afternoon at 4 when TRL was on MTV. One particularly legendary (read: trainwreck) of an afternoon came when Mariah Carey channeled the ice cream man-turned-Risky Business when she strolled into the studio with an ice cream cart, a men’s button down on, and a deer in the headlights look in her eyes. That was how the Glitter publicity tour began (and sadly, we later learned the dark truth that Mimi was going through it at the time).
The movie and soundtrack were panned and were known as the low point of her career until New Year’s Eve snatched that crown. Mariah has a new album out tomorrow, and her fans decided to add to her week by trying to make Glitter the best-selling album on iTunes. They were successful — color us all shocked! Justice for Glitter!
Vibe says Mariah owes the Lambily something great for Christmas this year (besides her Radio City Music Hall residency) because they worked to snatch every digital copy of Glitter and vault it over Ariana Grande, John Legend, and Drake. Glitter isn’t available on streaming services, per ET Canada, and I would imagine that was intentional since that shit was viewed as garbage (for perspective, the lead single “Loverboy” debuted at no. 2 – such trash!). So fans have shelled out $4.99 all week to send it to the top of the charts, and Mimi herself broke the news earlier:
I have to dedicate today's #tbt to Glitter, which is currently #1 on the iTunes albums chart, 17 years after its release and on the eve of my new album release! My fans are THE BEST #JusticeForGlitter!! LET'S GO #CAUTION pic.twitter.com/i2v8Zkp1oy
— Mariah Carey (@MariahCarey) November 15, 2018
It’s unclear what happens if Glitter outperforms her new album, Caution, but I’m glad Carson Daly has graduated to the Today show. Mariah will have much more fun visiting him this time around knowing Kathie Lee Gifford and her chardonnay will be waiting one studio over.

What? You expected commentary? Darling, Ezra IS the commentary. We, bitchy fashion bloggers who’ve spent years imploring actors to stop dressing like they work in offices and embrace the fact that they’re artists, can do nothing but bow down at the sight of Monsieur Miller’s “Missy Elliot Models House of Vader Couture” lewk. It is nothing less than a Supreme Queer Fashion Moment.
For real, though. If we can get semi-serious for a sec, we would absolutely rate this near the top of Queer Style moments in history. It won’t change anything about how men dress but it’s not meant to. It’s absolutely one queer person’s take on how they want to own an event by being as out-there and focus-pulling and challenging as they can allow themselves to be. This may seem silly and it’s certainly worth cracking a joke or two over (we think even Ezra would agree with that), but it’s also a form of high red carpet performance art, brilliantly executed. Eternal respect, kid.

Bob Saget Will Host A Too-Hot-For-Prime-Time Version of “AFV” Called “Videos After Dark”
KVi’ve never been more horny
As a person who has a reliable internet connection and a Netflix account, I was not aware that America’s Funniest Home Videos was still on the air. And by “on the air”, I mean that in the archaic sense in that it is still being broadcast on network television and if you have a pair of rabbit ears and a boob tube, you can still watch it at 7:00 every Sunday night (weather permitting). If you, like me, thought that YouTube and Twitter had all but made AFV obsolete, welcome back to the real world. Not only is AFV still a going concern, former host Bob Saget will be back on the air in a new, naughty version called Videos After Dark. According to Variety, ABC has just ordered 2 seasons of the “adult-oriented” clip show. And no, this is not RedTube4TV. The clips will be vintage AFV clips that were previously deemed too hot to broadcast!
Apparently all the amateur porn tapes that have been sent in since AFV debuted in 1989, have been burning a hole in producer Vin Di Bona’s pocket this whole time.
Saget and Di Bona have kicked around the idea of fielding an edgier take on the “AFV” vault for some time. ABC executives approached Di Bona a few months ago with a similar idea. Saget came on board quickly. “I called (Saget’s) agent to ask him about his interest in the project and he said to me ‘Bob’s already in makeup,’ ” Di Bona told Variety.
Di Bona said the show will be a blend of Saget material punctuated by a generous serving of clips. The “AFV” team has plenty of material to draw on, Di Bona promised. “We’ve been collecting them since day one,” he said.
Goddamnit, I hate to admit it, but I’m dying to see what’s on those fucking tapes! Bob’s ready, Vin’s ready, we all ready! Bring on the hilariously ill-timed cum shots! The show will go for a “nightclub-style feel” and not have any AFV branding to ensure that AFV maintains its “family friendly” bona fides.
Original Recipe AFV, still going strong, is currently being hosted by Alfonso Ribeiro. I love Alfonso Riberio! I may just need to give this whole “TV” thing another try. However, there are some differences from the old AFV that I truly did love in its heyday (which, I have learned, never ended!). Today, approximately 70 percent of the clips submitted to AFV are taken on smartphones and most of those are filmed in vertical mode. That means they have to do some behind-the-scenes television magic to make them look right on TV. Vin hates vertical mode, so get your shit together, people! We’ve got TV to make!
