When Glenn Beck and his head researcher landed in Colony Ridge, Texas, the town they were expecting was more like a scene out of Iraq.
“Ultimate squalor” and “almost like Grand Theft Auto” were how Buttrill described his expectations of the massive illegal immigrant settlement outside of Houston.
“I can’t fathom how that’s the story that you get just by showing up, driving around, and saying, ‘Okay this is what’s going on,’ because this story is a lot more complicated than that,” Buttrill explains.
The pair were told that citizens of Colony Ridge were “being sold at usury-style interest rates of 20% and 30% credit card rates” with gangs and cartels heavily involved.
One case on Glenn’s radar involves two teenage boys who appear to have been shot execution-style and left by some mailboxes in the area. While originally it seemed like a potential cartel crime, now Glenn is hearing it may have been a body dump.
“There is only one truth in the end, but I’m really glad to say this — we are doing everything we can to get to that truth. Not our truth, not the story we think people want to hear but the actual story,” Glenn says.
People need to know the truth, as settlement’s like Colony Ridge may be playing a huge role in whether the border situation will get better or worse.
Glenn has interviews lined up with more members and partners of the settlement, so he’s waiting on more answers.
“At first I was, ‘It’s probably illegal, and it’s absolutely immoral’ — and I still don’t have an answer on either of those two. It might be illegal, it might be immoral, but I had a swing yesterday back and forth to these where I’m like, ‘Well, I don’t know,’” Glenn says.

I didn't play modern at the time, it seems like a strong card for sure but what deck was it in that was dominating? Was it everywhere? What happened?
It appears to be a small set. Standard-legal cards, no draft format. Collector Boosters will have four rares/mythic plus two uncommons, plus a token. A new item is an "Epilogue Booster" which will have five cards: one to three rares/mythics and two to four uncommons. They'll be available in a box of 24. There will also be bundles consisting of eight Epilogue Boosters. If you ask me, it's just another way to charge the same amount of money for less product. It will be interesting to see when we see Epilogue Boosters again. [link] [comments] |

Conservative firebrand Candace Owens shared a moving video on her Twitter page Monday featuring more than 2,000 black and Hispanic demonstrators singing the national anthem during a Saturday Blexit demonstration in Washington, D.C. At the time of this reporting, Owens' video has been viewed more than 447,000 times.
As highlighted by the Daily Wire, an estimated 2,000-plus Blexit — "black exit," a movement Owens created in 2018 to encourage black Americans to leave the Democratic Party — demonstrators marched over the weekend.
Owens' video captures the moment that the demonstration concludes with a singing of "The Star-Spangled Banner."
Owens shared the video on Twitter with a stark comparison between Black Lives Matter protests and the Blexit demonstration.
She captioned the video, "Black Lives Matter protests end with rioting, looting, and the destruction of minority communities. BLEXIT protests end with 2,000+ black and Latino Americans singing the national anthem."
"This is a beautiful moment that the mainstream media won't report on," she concluded. "I'm so proud."
As seen in the video, following the singing of the national anthem, demonstrators break into chants of "USA! USA!"

Saturday's demonstration saw the thousands march in support of back police officers and law enforcement officials.
On Saturday, Owens tweeted, "Black and Latino Americans do not support the Marxist, anti-police rhetoric that has become fashionable in the media. Today, thousands of us have descended upon Washington D.C. to #BackTheBlue. Minorities do not belong to the Left."

Fox News on Sunday reported that Owens told demonstrators that President Donald Trump has supporters all around the country because he clearly supports law and order.
"There are people all around the country that support this president because he supports law and order. It's that simple," Owens said during the Saturday march. "Law and order should be what you want no matter what color you are. If you are an American, you should want law and you should want order. That is the way forward."

My wife and I are getting divorced after 19 years of marriage. She moved out 2 weeks ago and is living with her parents. The kids are with me. One of my daughters was at grandma's house this week visiting her mom and grandma mentioned to her this is her second marriage. My daughter mentioned it to me when she got home. I phoned my wife and she told me her high school boyfriend (he was 18, she was 16) took off to Mexico and got legally married. When they broke up a year later, they just broke up, never divorced. I have called my attorney to get some answers on this, his legal aide said he is out until Tuesday. It is killing me. I basically have 2 questions. Was I even married? We wed in the U.S., not Mexico and divorcing in the U.S. And two, we have a beach house in Cabo San Lucas. Is that now owned by 3 people (her first husband) and will that affect the sale when we try to sell?
Also, no, I did not file for divorce because of this. It was just growing apart. I actually think it is kind of funny as long as it doesn't mess things up.

Not 100% sure this is the right sub but I needed to share this somewhere so please redirect me if I got the wrong address.
I’m a 20yo student, self employed, and work odd hours, so I told my landlady she’s free to give my number to anyone in the building who needs a babysitter or tutor for their kids. That’s how I met EM. (Entitled mom.) EM has A, B and C, who are 9, 4 and 1 years old. I will be MN, my name.
She asked me to come over for dinner to meet the kids before I start working. (Picking them up once every other week, feeding and putting to bed.) Ok. I go over there twice to eat with them and play with the youngest. I didn’t charge her cause hey, free dinner. But we have agreed to 10€ an hour.
During my second visit, A was asked to set the table. “NO. MN HAS TO DO IT! My babysitter has to do EVERYTHING I say!” The mother did not respond to this. Not even a flinch. I was the one to tell A that I’m not her maid and she should listen to her mother giving her a simple chore. Ok, she did it.
Later, EM tells me she also needs me to turn off nightmode on my phone so she can call me at night. I told her no, but maybe my roommate can do some night shifts. (I doubt it, we both have the same disability and it’s crucial that we get sleep.) EM proceeds to say she needs one person to always be on the clock cause it’s so traumatic for her kids to switch babysitter. Oh, also I needed to take my Thursday classes next year JUST IN CASE she needs me on a Thursday.
At this point I told her we need to agree to some hours NOW, and I am not obligated to work outside of that schedule. I gotta be able to schedule other work and hospital visits, and I am definitely not skipping classes. She agreed, I got all my hours through 2018.
On my way out, she complimented my flared jeans, and told me she was looking for similar pants for A. (Important.) I told her they can easily be made from a pair of old jeans. She went on a little rant about how she doesn’t have the time, but maybe I could? I said I’ll take a paid sewing job.
Fast forward to my birthday weekend, 2 weeks ago. The day before my birthday, I recived a text from a new number:
“Hey, MN, can I come over today? From A.”
I ask the mom what’s up, and apparently she thought it was completely appropriate to give her 9 year old my number. She had just decided that on a Saturday, I was completely ready to take in her kid, do a sewing project with her, feed her lunch out of my pocket and entertain her. And she did not plan on paying. It was part of getting to know her kids.
I said the kid can come over if she needs a sitter, but I will charge her for babysitting and lunch and will continue working. Mother says ok and she’ll tell her kid to come over. Never showed up. It wasn’t a huge inconvenience since I didn’t have plans to leave the house, but definitely annoying.
10pm I get a text from the child: “I had something better to do today but I’ll be there tomorrow.”
My response: “You cannot come tomorrow, it’s my birthday and I’m having a party.”
A: “You’re excused.”
WTF. I agreed to do a job during specific hours, not to be your unpaid servant, lady.
