Doctor Who's new companion is only lovable when the show isn't trying to make us love her
BossclaireshortySpoilers if you haven't watched yet, but not one of my favorite episodes. I agree with the writer about when it went off the rails. The comments are really interesting on this one too. Anyhow, I'm excited for the rest of this season.
It's part of the ritual of Doctor Who these days: First we have to be introduced to a new time-traveling companion (for the third time, in the case of Clara.) And then, in her second story, we have to get reminded just why she's so amazingly special and wonderful. That's this week's episode, which is kind of mixed bag. Spoilers ahead...
