The Walking Dead As A SNES Run And Gun Game

A game like this wouldn't be about important decisions or character development, but rather blowing up endless armies of zombies in a top-down view.
CineFix recreated the first two seasons of The Walking Dead TV show and made it similar to 16-bit run and gun games like Jurassic Park, The Chaos Engine or even Zombies Ate My Neighbours.

Kraft Recalls 242,000 Cases That May Contain Macaroni And Cheese And Metal Shards
All of the affected boxes are the standard 7.25-ounce size, but recalled items come in several configurations. The recall includes single boxes as well as 3-packs that are packaged in a single box, and shrink-wrapped 4- and 5-packs of boxes where they’re sold in bulk.
To identify recalled boxes, here’s what you need to know: recalled boxes have “best by” dates between September 18 and October 11, 2015, and the date is followed by “C2.”

If you have these in your pantry, you should take them back to the store where you purchased them for a refund. If you aren’t able to do that, or if you have any other questions about the recall, you can call Kraft at 1-800-816-9432.
While there were eight reports of metal pieces in boxes of macaroni and cheese, there were no reports of anyone eating them or injured by the metal pieces.

There are 2 competing ideas for the car of the future — and only 1 can win (TSLA, AAPL, GOOG)

Over the past year, the car of the future has gone from being a topic of speculative discussion to being an impending reality pondered by the titans of both the traditional auto industry and Silicon Valley.
Audi sent a driverless car from Los Angeles to Las Vegas in January. Tesla is planning to sell 55,000 electric vehicles in 2015. And, just in case you missed it, Apple is rumored to be working on a car.
But the most dramatic and far-reaching vision for the future of getting around comes from Google. The tech colossus is now a car maker, creating a fleet of prototype driverless cars that look a lot more like transportation pods controlled by artificial intelligence than a good old-fashioned set of wheels.
Google represents one idea about the future of mobility. Tesla — and much of the rest of the auto industry — has committed to the another.
Idea Number 1: The internal combustion engine will gradually fade away, and cars will eventually drive themselves.
This is the incrementalist view. Tesla is right at the center of it: a disruptive startup automaker, selling only electric cars, with a suite of "autopilot" self-driving features coming online and ambitions to fully automate the driving experience sooner rather than later.
However, the process will take place in a car — a car that looks a lot like cars have always looked. No radical departure from the past here. And on top of that, Tesla's are expensive. And designed to be owned. By individuals. With other types of property. Ideally, if you own a Tesla, you also own a garage.
CEO Elon Musk's vision is to replace the entire global fleet of fossil-fuel-burning vehicles with EVs. He wants to save the planet — but he wants to do it with outwardly recognizable technology and vehicle ownership patterns. At least for now.

Idea Number 2: The car as we know it will go away, replaced by an autonomous node in an on-demand, ownership-free transportation matrix, enabled by inexpensive personal technology that's ubiquitous — who needs a garage when you have a smartphone?
This is the future that the Google Car points to. It isn't that much of a leap, even though the idea sounds pretty out-there. The special sauce, of course, is Uber. Smartphone users can already summon a ride on demand. Take the Google Car and plug it into that platform and you have a complete transformation of mobility. If you can order up a ride — a driverless ride, running on electricity — anywhere, anytime, in all but the most remote places, you don't need a personal car.
You also don't need a driver's license, or a loan, or car insurance, or any of the numerous economically important things that go along with owning your own form of transportation.

Now, you might say that the Google Car future is far too exotic to come true. The Tesla future is the betting man's choice.
But if you'd asked me two years ago whether autonomous driving features would converge so rapidly in late 2014 and early 2015, I would have been skeptical. The speed at which we've gone from imagining self-driving cars to expecting them has stunned me.
The advanced mobility community has been theorizing the Google Car future for a while now. And the Google fleet is now taking to the road. If it scales — and that's a big if — then the road ahead will be obvious and the personal car will become a vestige of the past. The "owned" conventional automobile will go they way of the horse.
Okay, I can hear you scoffing. But think about aviation. In the early 20th century, human flight was a gauzy daydream. A few decades later, aircraft were everywhere.

And a few decades after, that, we broke the sound barrier.
By the 1960s, we flew to the Moon!

Mind-warping change can and does happen. It never hurts to be ready for it.
And readiness implies adaptation. Because if the Google Car future becomes our present, then the conventional model of the automobile will rapidly vanish. Sure, there will be collectors and enthusiasts who maintain their relics of the former age, just as plenty of people keep and enjoy horses today. But it will be a niche preoccupation, like wooden sailboats or writing notes with a fountain pen.
The point is that there won't be much room for a hybrid model, long term: a transportation matrix will win out over the Old Way, even if it takes a while — and it will take a while, as billions of vehicles will have to replaced.
We're just at the beginning of this process. It's not clear which idea will triumph.
But only one will.

Nevada Bill Would Make It Legal To Treat Sick Pets With Medical Marijuana

(.sanden.)
Sen. Tick Segerblom is sponsoring a measure that would let owners get marijuana if a veterinarian signs off and says an animal could benefit from the drug, reports the Associated Press. Pot’s effectiveness as a painkiller hasn’t been proven yet, however.
Some owners have said that their pets’ pain was alleviated by cannabis, including an L.A. vet who told the AP that his Siberian husky’s pain was eased in her final weeks after she’d had surgery to remove tumors. She was able to put on weight and lived six weeks until she had to be put to sleep.
“I grew tired of euthanizing pets when I wasn’t doing everything I could to make their lives better,” he told the AP. “I felt like I was letting them down.”
There are already critics: Sen. Mark Manendo, an animal rights advocate, said he wasn’t familiar with the idea of giving pot to pets.
“That gives me pause,” he said. “Alcohol is bad, chocolate is bad for dogs.”
Segerblom acknowledged that there’s a potential for some animals to react badly to cannabis, but said, “you don’t know until you try.”
There are many things that would have to happen to make this bill become law, which might not be terribly easy. The cannabis for canines and cats measure is part of a larger bill that seeks to overhaul Nevada’s medical marijuana law.

eTape16 Measuring Tape Eliminates the Guessing
I think we can all admit that reading a tape measure is a pain in the arse. I am certainly qualified to use one, but while part of me likes to believe I build things in whole number increments for OCD’s sake, I really do it because I don’t want to have to count the little tick marks on the tape measure in front of my kids.
If you are the same way, and I bet you are, this is the tape measure for you. It has a little digital readout that tells you an exact measurement as you pull out the measuring tape. No more counting marks to figure out of if that’s an eighth of an inch or a sixteenth before finally deciding to make whatever you are working on exactly two inches just to be safe.
The tape can measure in feet, inches, fractions, decimals, and centimeters and is supposed to be accurate to 1/16″ or 1 mm. It’s not exactly cheap at $34.99(USD) on ThinkGeek, but it’s money well spent I think.
Playing the unplayable Death March (but not releasing the penguins)

John Stump's 1980 composition Faerie’s Aire and Death Waltz (from 'A Tribute to Zdenko G. Fibich') is a parody of a composition and not intended to be played -- but someone did!
Of course, the Youtube version doesn't follow all the directions on the score -- notable omissions include "release the penguins," "gradually become agitated," "duck," "remove valve," "optional shoehorn" and "remove cattle from stage."
