Robocop, Detroit's favorite half-man half-machine all-cop son, knew he had to act when Detroit announced bankruptcy last week, so he began this Kickstarter to help the Motor City out. I have to admit, the $100 million donation prize is pretty damned tempting.

Watch Pearl Jam Play “Mind Your Manners” Live For The First Time
Just last week we got the details of Pearl Jam’s next album, Lightning Bolt, as well as a spin of its first single, “Mind Your Manners.” The band doesn’t kick off their North American tour till October, but last night they played Budweiser Gardens in London, Ontario, where they live-premiered “Mind Your Manners.” They rock it out pretty well; in this roughed-up context, it actually reminds me a lot of “Go,” the lead single from the band’s sophomore album, 1993′s Vs. — an association I didn’t make when hearing the studio version. We’ve got video of the performance below. Give it a look.
LCD Soundsystem's 'All My Friends'...With LEGO!
I'm kind of embarrassed to say that LCD Soundsystem is actually a pretty new discovery for me. I had always heard of James Murphy's band, but for whatever reason, I never pursued them. Recently, upon hearing “All My Friends” on constant replay by my wife, I learned that I should've been paying attention, and frankly, had been a fool for so long. LCD Soundsystem is great and "All My Friends" -- along with "New York, I Love You But You're Brining Me Down" -- are now frequent Spotify jams for me. So you can imagine how I'm kicking myself, especially now that the band is kaput.
LCD Soundsystem - All My Friends (in LEGO) by be_motion
But it was very surprising to see the above video by Michael J. Green that recreates the “All My Friends” music video with LEGO. The universe is reaching out with its synchronic (is that a word?) self and telling me, "Hey jerk, this is a killer band, and this video is killer, so good thing you're paying attention now. Jerk." Its also telling me, "LEGOs are cool. Go buy LEGOs."
Yes, Universe. I will.

‘Bad Milo’ Red Band Trailer: It Came From Ken Marino’s Butt
Last week saw Thomas Lennon and Robert Ben Garant’s Hell Baby hitting VOD. Next month, Ken Marino will be unleashing a demonic spawn of his own in Bad Milo. And yes, I do mean Ken Marino, not Gillian Jacobs, who plays his wife.
Directed by Jacob Vaughan, the horror comedy takes the phrase “a pain in the ass” and makes it literal — and deadly. Marino plays Duncan, whose stress triggers severe gastrointestinal distress. But this isn’t just your run-of-the-mill ulcer or IBS. Instead, he discovers that he has a tiny demon living in his butt, who pops out to attack people who’ve pissed off Duncan. Watch the red-band (NSFW) trailer after the jump.
Yahoo posted the new trailer.
Bad Milo obviously won’t be for everyone, nor does it want to be. But if you’re into this kind of thing, this looks like fun. The plotline is admirably insane, the cast (which also includes Patrick Warburton, Stephen Root, Mary Kay Place, and Peter Stormare) looks game, and the jokes are funnier than I would’ve expected.
THR and Variety were ambivalent about the film, but others were more enthusiastic. Bloody Disgusting wrote that it was “better than you thought it would be,” with “laughs, ideas, gore and heart to spare,” and the Austin Chronicle and Collider were similarly complimentary. (From Russ: I thought the movie was disappointingly tame, given the outrageous premise. But Marino’s manic energy is great, and Stormare is very funny as Marino’s shrink.) If the idea of a murderous butt-monster appeals to you, then, it’ll probably be worth seeing Bad Milo when it hits VOD August 29 and theaters October 4.
Duncan’s (Ken Marino) life is a real pain in the ass. Tormented by a manipulative, crooked boss (Patrick Warburton), a nagging mother (Mary Kay Place), a deadbeat new age dad (Stephen Root), and a sweet, yet pressuring, wife (Gillian Jacobs), his mounting stress starts to trigger an insufferable gastrointestinal reaction.
Out of ideas and at the end of his rope, Duncan seeks the help of a hypnotherapist (Peter Stormare), who helps him discover the root of his unusual stomach pain: a pintsized demon living in his intestine that, triggered by excessive anxiety, forces its way out and slaughters the people who have angered him. Out of fear that his intestinal gremlin may target its wrath on the wrong person, Duncan attempts to befriend it, naming it Milo and indulging it to keep its seemingly insatiable appetite at bay.

Mets GIF Of The Game: Chad Qualls fist-pumps into oblivion

With Mets runners on first and third and two outs in the bottom of the eighth last night, Marlins reliever Chad Qualls struck out Omar Quintanilla to end the inning. Chad Qualls then got a little too excited, punctuating his big moment with an epic fist-pump. Apparently not too experienced with the celebratory arm gesture, Qualls lost his balance and tumbled to the turf.

More angles to come!

Music: Newswire: Three duets by Michael Jackson and Freddie Mercury to be released this fall

Back in 1983, Michael Jackson and Freddie Mercury recorded three duets, and now, 30 years later, those songs are set to see the harsh light of day. Queen guitarist Brian May told The Times of London that there will be “something for folks to hear” this fall, but more information as to how those songs will get out there is still a little unclear.
One of the hastily made singles, "There Must Be More To Life Than This," has been floating around for a few years now and is below. It's certainly not much to listen to, and it might just provide a hint as to why these tracks have never officially released.
The pair only recorded a few tracks together but failed to make a full record—ostensibly because they couldn’t get together for enough studio time. However, Jim “Miami” Beach, a lawyer who eventually became Queen ...

TV: Great Job, Internet!: Here's a supercut of Saturday Night Live performers breaking
CoreyThis is always my favorite part of the show.

Though it's the Saturday Night Live cast’s job to keep a straight face while performing the silliest of sketches, nobody is truly immune to the giggles. Slacktory recently posted a supercut of some of the most memorable SNL crack-ups (and, no, it’s not just four minutes of Jimmy Fallon breaking). There are the classics known and loved by all, such as Chris Farley’s van-down-by-the-river speech and Will Ferrell’s cowbell crackup, but viewers are also treated to older gems featuring cast members like Gilda Radner and Bill Murray.

Basketball Documentary ‘Linsanity’ Gets October Release

Briefly: One of the best films I saw at this year’s Sundance Film Festival was a documentary about the almost too-unbelievable story of NBA point guard Jeremy Lin. Directed by Evan Jackson Leong, Linsanity tells Lin’s story from his childhood, all the way up through the month in 2012 when he became one of the most famous people on the planet.
Ketchup Entertainment picked the film up and will distribute it on October 4 in 10-15 cities, including Boston, Los Angeles, New York and San Francisco. If you like unbelievable stories, or just great sports movies, Linsanity is a can’t miss. [Variety]

Vampire Weekend – “Blurred Lines” (Robin Thicke Cover)
Vampire Weekend’s “Diane Young” and Robin Thicke’s “Blurred Lines” placed second and third, respectively, in our poll for 2013′s Song Of The Summer. Both were devoured whole, however, by Daft Punk’s “Get Lucky.” So perhaps as a way of combining the powerful (but ultimately ineffectual) voter blocs split by the two tracks, Vampire Weekend have covered “Blurred Lines” for BBC’s Live Lounge. The original is pretty close to perfect, and even if VW are taking the piss a little bit, they treat the track pretty reverently and don’t mess with it too much. Hey, it worked for Josh Homme. So we gotta have a do-over on that vote or nah? Listen.
