Deadly Premonition: Director’s Cut, or the update to what I like to call “Twin Peaks: The Video Game,” is bringing its coffee fortunes, raincoat killers, and other survival horror nonsense to your PC this Halloween.
For those who’ve only heard of the game through whispers or the much less accurate tea fortunes, Deadly Premonition is a survival horror game that tasks you, FBI special agent York, with solving a series of murders that has led you to the small, “everyone knows everyone” town called Greenvale.
The game received a director’s cut on consoles back in April, which added new controls, updated visuals and some extra story threads. The PC version will include all of that, plus some exclusive DLC goodies, the details of which have been rather vague. The PC version also gets Steam achievements and trading cards, if you’re into that sort of thing.
The original Deadly Premonition is known for having some rather rough edges, but its story and characters garnered a dedicated fan base (it passed Steam Greenlight after all). How the survival horror title will perform on PC is still a mystery, but it’s nothing a few good ol’ coffee fortunes can’t predict.

The Oculus Rift virtual reality headset has been designed to provide gamers with a more immersive experience, and while vision is one thing, what if it were to be combined with movement as well? Wouldn’t that be even more immersive? That’s pretty much what Virtuix’s Omni treadmill is hoping to do by providing gamers with a device that they can use to simulate walking around freely in an environment, but keeping it rooted to the same spot for space saving.
We’ve seen the device used in games like Team Fortress 2 and Minecraft, and the good news is that if you thought that was way too cool, the Omni treadmill is now up for pre-order after a successful Kickstarter funding campaign. For a somewhat reasonable price of $499, gamers will be getting themselves the platform, shoes, a belt to hold you in place, along with the necessary tracking hardware and software, so if this sounds like something you could get on board with, hit up Virtuix’s website for the details.
This is a video of a man whom was at Canada's Wonderland in 1999. He was inside a karaoke machine to the sound of Backstreet Boys. What followed resulted in the uploader paying all his remaining money to have the video, broadcasted outside the karaoke machine, recorded on VHS.

Forget Greek gods - geeks have all the power in today's digital world.
Every year, Habari Media of South Africa creates a custom calendar. This year, to celebrate the rise of the geeks, it has created a bespoke letterpressed calendar, featuring twelve prominent leaders in design, media, and advertising as "Geek Gods."
The circular calendar features lunar phases, a nod to the Greek lunar calendar, and a manual dial that can be moved to mark the date. The calendar disc is engraved with markings that emulate the stone engravings of Greek tablets, and the individual month cards are letterpressed with graphic art like what you'd find on an ancient Greek amphora.
Each month of the calendar features a "god" modeled after real media personality and his or her expertise. For example, March 2013 features Moti Grauman, "God of Analysis" who is the "critical judge of hits and click-throughs" and November features Alan Buck, "God of Strategy" who is a "Game Plan Logician" and "Online Media Tactician." (Yes, that makes the most sense to insiders, but you get the cleverness.)

Littlemissgt uploaded this adorable picture of Chewy's babies to I-Am-Bored last year, but I can't tell you which convention they were dressed up for. Personally though, I absolutely adore the fact that each one has different fur styles so they really look like wookiee brothers.
