Resident Evil: Revelations 2 Has Microtransactions
Resident Evil: Revelations 2, upcoming episodic horror adventure, will feature microstrantions, Capcom confirmed today.
A Capcom representative issued a statement to Kotaku today clarifying that the microtransactions are included in the optional Raid Mode and not “within the main campaign.” The Raid Mode features two “life crystals” variants that are used to respawn, which players can either earn or purchase.
“The crystals essentially act as continues (re spawns) in Raid mode when players die,” the representative explains. “Blue life crystals can be earned through playing daily missions and red life crystals can be bought.
Second Life is serious business
D Gcouldn't watch the whole thing
The most shocking thing about this video may be the fact that Second Life is still apparently a thing. I mean, it's 2015 and there are plenty of other creepy hamlets of the Internet to get your fuck on. Why are there still people messing with Second Life?
Oh well, to each his or her own. So long as the "game" can continue to give us golden turd nuggets like this exchange caught on video, then I guess Second Life remains relevant ... at least for us.
Conan O'Brien wants to animate an entire episode in the style of Minecraft
Apparently, Conan O'Brien (or at least someone on staff) is a pretty big Minecraft fan. They've had a few Minecraft-related videos in the past, including a Clueless Gamer segment where he gave the game a possibly unfavorable review.
Recently, he wanted to film an episode of his show and then animate the entire episode in the Minecraft style. According to Conan, he asked "the Minecraft people" about the idea, and they initially agreed but later changed their minds. So in lieu of an entire episode, they filmed this short segment about the idea and animated that instead.
Based on the clip, I'd definitely enjoy watching a fully animated episode of the show. Blocky Conan and Andy Richter are great, and I loved what they did with the audience!
Homemade Gas-powered Horse
Su Daocheng is a farmer in a China and a self-taught mechanical genius. He built this gas engine-powered horse to help him plow his fields, but I honestly don’t see him getting a lot of that done, at least in this version. That fact that he actually built it himself is pretty neat, yet when it starts walking, you’ll laugh out loud just like I did. Later in the video, you’ll get to see more of Su’s kinetic sculptures. Pantsless Woman Arrested For DUI While Sitting On A Bottle

There's two amazing geographic details to this story: first, it did not take place in Florida, and second, it did take place in Beaver County, PA which should make our audience of 9 year old boys pee themselves. The incident itself involves a car wreck, an inebriated woman, a lack of pants, and a bottle, pressed under some bare buttocks.
Is China Starting To Crackdown On Alibaba's "Illegal Operations"?
It appears the Chinese government has decided it is time to remind the nation's richest man (and millions of retail investors in America) who is in charge. According to a report released by the Chinese government - citing closed-door meetings in July 2014 that were kept quiet so as not to affect the September IPO - there are at least 19 problems with Alibaba's various platforms. As Bloomberg reports, Alibaba failed to properly oversee merchants and allowed the sale of counterfeit products on its e-commerce platforms, according to a Chinese government report. The report concludes, rather ominously, "Alibaba not only faces the biggest credibility crisis since its establishment, it also casts a bad influence for other Internet operators trying to operate legally." While Alibaba has tried to clean-up its image, the report cites issues with counterfeit goods, merchant screening, false advertising, and lax controls.
The report is extensive... (and can be found here)

Alibaba Group Holding Ltd. failed to properly oversee merchants and allowed the sale of counterfeit products on its e-commerce platforms, according to a Chinese government report.
Many merchants didn’t apply for a business license and misled consumers during holiday promotions, including the Nov. 11 Singles’ Day, according to a document published by a media outlet run by the State Administration for Industry & Commerce.
A meeting was held in July, though the report wasn’t published until now to avoid affecting Alibaba’s initial public offering, it said.
“For a long time, Alibaba hasn’t paid enough attention to the illegal operations on its platforms, and hasn’t effectively addressed the issues,” the report said. “Alibaba not only faces the biggest credibility crisis since its establishment, it also casts a bad influence for other Internet operators trying to operate legally.”
The report from the government cited perceived flaws in its customer
feedback system, false advertising and lax controls by Alibaba staff.
Alibaba wasn’t stringent enough on merchant screening and there are
flaws in its internal credit-scoring system, the report said.

Alibaba has promised to clean-up...

Alibaba has worked to get rid of counterfeits as it expands internationally, with 90 million listings for products that breached intellectual-property rights removed before its record $25 billion IPO in September. The crackdown is part of Alibaba’s plan to build its reputation now that it is Asia’s largest technology company with a market value of $254 billion.
In December, Alibaba said it spent $160.7 million from the beginning of 2013 through November to block counterfeit products and boost consumer protection.

Is Jack Ma the next to be taken down by the corruption probe? We doubt it, but when you're the richest man in the country, it would appear a rather large target is painted on your back.

Watch a drone shoot fireworks at people from the drone's point of view

Some guys essentially weaponized a drone by strapping Roman Candles onto the flying machine and making it fly around and shoot fireworks at people (themselves). The video made by PIEROGRAM is totally crude but is also a preview of how the world will end. Death by laser shooting drones and human stupidity.
Obama: Let’s Pay for ‘Free’ Community College by Taxing College Savings!
D Gyes, tax the responsible people to feed the leeches

Earlier this month we explained that there is no such thing as “free” community college and that it was the middle class which would likely foot the bill for any “free” tuition.
Looks like we were right.
Power Wash: Exercise Bike-Driven Clothes Washing Machine

A solution to so many problems in a single design, this clever stationary bicycle does your laundry while you do your workout, a winning idea all around.

For starters, there is the necessity of getting the laundry done, which means you must keep to a regular exercise schedule.

And then there is the energy-free aspect, saving you money on electricity, helping the environment and making it easy to relocate this bike anywhere you want (include a porch or backyard).

Finally, the whole setup is space-saving by its very nature – both exercise bikes and washing machines often take up a lot of space for something infrequently used and serving only one function. For now it is just a concept, but one can only hope that designer Li Huan will seek funding to make this ingenious vision a working reality.
