Christian Writer: I Don’t Think Mayor Pete and His Husband Hook Up at Gay Bars

by Hemant Mehta
SpinnyNuNu

>>>To the best of our knowledge, they are not frequenting gay bars looking for anonymous sex encounters

To the best of our knowledge, Trump has paid hush money to at least two women, cheated on his first wife with his eventual second wife, talked about how his infant daughter (Tiffany) had inherited her mother’s shapely legs(but obviously didn’t yet know if she would have good boobs), divorced his second wife when he did so that she wouldn’t get more money from the prenup, made really fucking creepy comments about sex and Ivanka, was recorded discussing grabbing women by their pussies. . .

But yes, by all means, let’s speculate about whether Pete Buttigieg trolls gay bars.

Fuck that guy.

This guy can't handle a prominent gay couple that doesn't conform to his stereotypes.

Parents plan Rocklin school sit-out after officials approve LGBTQ+ inclusive curriculum

SpinnyNuNu

There was a discussion about this on the Nextdoor app today. It made me stabby.

Children are perfectly capable of processing this kind of information. Especially if it’s just presented as normal.

About 600 parents in Rocklin plan to keep their kids home from school Friday.

Trump says he discussed 'Russian Hoax,' Mueller report with Putin

SpinnyNuNu

This is fine.

During their conversation, which lasted more than an hour, they also discussed North Korea, Ukraine, U.S.-Russia trade and "very, very briefly" special counsel Robert Mueller's just completed report on Moscow's interference in the 2016 election, White House press secretary Sarah Sanders said.

'Ignorance, not intention': Dr. Phil slams university he says he didn't know existed

SpinnyNuNu

His basic premise is not wrong, just badly articulated. When I was accepted to Santa Clara University (private Jesuit university) in ‘92, I was terribly excited. Until I saw my financial aid package and realized how much debt I would be accumulating in my four years there.

I wanted to spend two years at a junior college to get all of my core requirements done and then transfer to SCU.

Nope. My parents wouldn’t allow it. I was going to SCU and that was that.

Three years ago, when they were trying to talk my nephew into community college instead of Stan State, I called them out on their hypocrisy. My mom’s response was, “Well, I was really into telling people that my daughter was going to Santa Clara.”

Thanks for the debt. Hope your ego appreciates it.

Dr. Phil might want to Google a name before using it as an insult next time.

Christian Protesters Shouted “Sodom and Gomorrah” Chants at Pete Buttigieg Rally

by Sarahbeth Caplin
SpinnyNuNu

Classy.

I mean, they do realize that Lot, the “hero” of Sodom and Gomorrah, offered up his two virgin daughters to the angry mob that was trying to get to the travelers he was entertaining.

Genesis 19:8

Look, I have two daughters who have never slept with a man. Let me bring them out to you, and you can do what you like with them. But don’t do anything to these men, for they have come under the protection of my roof.”

Sooooo, maybe don’t try to pretend you’re the good guys.

As you'd expect, Pete Buttigieg handled the anti-gay chants with dignity.

Skull of the Altamura Man

by noreply@blogger.com (Minnesotastan)
SpinnyNuNu

There is something horrifying about this, but at the same time I am captivated by trying to differentiate between skull and calcites.

The Altamura Man is a fossil of the genus Homo discovered in 1993 in a karst sinkhole in the Lamalunga Cave near the city of Altamura, Italy.  Remarkably well preserved but embedded in stalagmites and covered in a thick layer of calcite the find was left in situ in order to avoid damage

Altamura Man is one of the most complete Paleolithic skeletons ever to be discovered in Europe as "even the bones inside the nose are still there" and as of 2016 it represents the oldest sample of Neanderthal DNA to have been sequenced successfully

Introducing Candida auris

by noreply@blogger.com (Minnesotastan)
SpinnyNuNu

>>>As with antibiotics in farm animals, azoles are used widely on crops. “On everything — potatoes, beans, wheat, anything you can think of, tomatoes, onions,” said Dr. Rhodes, the infectious disease specialist who worked on the London outbreak. “We are driving this with the use of antifungicides on crops.”

Of course

The man at Mount Sinai died after 90 days in the hospital, but C. auris did not. Tests showed it was everywhere in his room, so invasive that the hospital needed special cleaning equipment and had to rip out some of the ceiling and floor tiles to eradicate it.

“Everything was positive — the walls, the bed, the doors, the curtains, the phones, the sink, the whiteboard, the poles, the pump,” said Dr. Scott Lorin, the hospital’s president. “The mattress, the bed rails, the canister holes, the window shades, the ceiling, everything in the room was positive.”

C. auris is so tenacious, in part, because it is impervious to major antifungal medications, making it a new example of one of the world’s most intractable health threats: the rise of drug-resistant infections...

Other prominent strains of the fungus Candida — one of the most common causes of bloodstream infections in hospitals — have not developed significant resistance to drugs, but more than 90 percent of C. auris infections are resistant to at least one drug, and 30 percent are resistant to two or more drugs, the C.D.C. said.

Dr. Lynn Sosa, Connecticut’s deputy state epidemiologist, said she now saw C. auris as “the top” threat among resistant infections. “It’s pretty much unbeatable and difficult to identify,” she said.
Nearly half of patients who contract C. auris die within 90 days, according to the C.D.C. Yet the world’s experts have not nailed down where it came from in the first place...
