City of Hoboken Explores Creating Regional Performing Arts Center
None!could be cool

The City of Hoboken will be evaluating the feasibility of creating a large performing arts center near Hoboken Terminal. If the idea has community support and is deemed to be economically feasible, the City will include the construction of the center in the negotiation of the Redevelopment Agreement with the designated redeveloper of the property owned by New Jersey Transit.
“With almost unparalleled access to mass transit, southeast Hoboken could be the ideal place for a regional performing arts center for music, theater, dance, and more,” said Mayor Dawn Zimmer. “Along with the resurgence of the Monroe Arts Center, the preservation of Neumann Leathers through a proposed Rehabilitation Plan, and the construction of Mile Square Theatre’s new facility next to the Viaduct, the Hoboken community is demonstrating its commitment to artists and the arts.”
The Hoboken Yard Redevelopment Plan adopted by the City Council in December, 2014 requires that the developer build and provide space for a 23,000 square foot indoor public space along the eastern end of Observer Highway. That space may include a variety of uses, including performance space.
The City of Hoboken has various smaller-scale venues but currently does not have large-scale performing arts space, and residents seeking entertainment options must often travel outside of Hudson County. The Hudson County Master Plan calls for “the development of a performing arts center to provide a source of entertainment and to meet the needs of local performing artists.”

Monumental Storm
Photograph by Emma Rogers, National Geographic Your Shot
While touring Arizonas Monument Valley Navajo Tribal Park, Your Shot member Emma Rogers and her partner were undeterred from a day of sightseeing by the stormy weather sweeping the landscape. Here, a mass of thunderclouds hovers above the Mitten Buttes, a scene made more dramatic by a bolt of lightning. While it was a lucky shot, writes Rogers, I feel like it perfectly captured the atmosphere of the day.

Pixar had the lowest immunization numbers, with less than 50 percent of employees' children receiving vaccinations.
i didnt think when my kid goes to day care i would need to look into herd immunity daycare centers but it seems so.
The Phone-Charging XOO Belt by Casely-Hayford & Nifty

British label Casely-Hayford take on the world of tech, teaming up with hardware startup Nifty for the launch of the innovative the XOO Belt. The XOO Belt charges your smartphone using a discrete micro USB-to-USB charging cable and Lithium Ceramic Polymer battery, making it super safe and durable for those busy running around days, the invisible pack pushing out 2,100mAh of power, enough to fully charge an iPhone 6. Both Apple and Android friendly, using microUSB and Lightning cable, the key is in the tech’s ability to flex and twist with the wearer without damaging the system itself. Add to that a slim-line design and lightweight feel and this new product starts to feel like a really promising prospect.
The sleek design for the series is credited to the father-son design team, setting things to either “smart” or “casual,” both options showing off the guy’s talents, with minor stylistic differences between the two black models, equally pleasing in aesthetics. Nothing is overlooked, with fine Italian leather finishing off the belt’s strap, as CEO of Nifty, Piers Ridyard describes, “not just a standard tech product but a really nice product that solves a really big problem really well.” Available to pre-order now.

None!good click through for a comparison of other companies worth 19B vs snapchat
$1.61
That's how much WalMart reported pulled in per share in the fourth quarter – higher than the predicted $1.53. And while earnings fell short, the company might be more concerned with its poor performance on the American Customer Satisfaction Index, where it fell below Target and Family Dollar. It leads some to wonder if a company can be too big to improve.

That's the length of two proposed long water diversion tunnels that would pull water from the California Delta further south. The conflict between North and South is nothing new for California water. This latest battle has farmers worried that siphoning water from the Delta will hurt their crop, and will ruin the water quality. But others claim fears that the South will drain the North are unfounded.
$19 billion
Snapchat's rumored value after its most recent round of fundraising. That would mean the self-destructing message service has nearly doubled in value in a year, and it would be one of the top venture-backed firms in the world, behind just Xiaomi and Uber. Quartz points out other companies publicly traded at that same value seem to make much more money than Snapchat, however.

The median calaries in a meal from Chipotle, according to an analysis of 3,000 sample meals by The New York Times' Upshot. Their research into the chain's own nutritional info and data from GrubHub shows just how hard it is to craft a more modest meal and the surprising calorie and sodium content in some benign offerings like fresh tomato salsa and tortillas.

That's how much income goes undeclared and untaxed in the U.S. each year, mostly due to cash tips, the Atlantic reported. The magazine's analysis of several different sets of data shows tipping varies wildly state-to-state – generally areas with more resorts see higher tips, as do wait staff and bartenders, compared to chefs and cooks.
$300,000
Speaking of tipping your waiter, $300,000 is how much Vice Media CEO Shane Smith reportedly dropped on a single dinner at the Bellagio in Las Vegas. During an MGM Resorts International earnings call, MGM CEO James Murren accidentally let slip the details of said dinner. As reported by Quartz, it didn't take long for reporters to connect the dots on who he was talking about. With the guest list only estimated at 12 to 30 people, some speculate that there must have been some pretty expensive alcohol served with the steak.

Italian Vintage Cycling Race Eroica to Ride California this April
None!here you go phil

Considered by many to be the finest classic sportif in cycling, Italy’s famed L’Eroica race makes its way from the rolling hills of Tuscany to California, for the first-ever stateside Eroica.
A bicycle race like no other, Eroica is a living tribute to vintage cycling at the turn of the 20th century. Keeping with the tradition of its Italian counterpart, Eroica, CA participants may only ride bicycles built before 1987. Riders will also be asked to wear era-appropriate wool kits in vintage color schemes.
As mentioned in our October coverage of L’Eroica 2014, the race takes its name from the Italian word for “heroic,” and is a reminder of cycling’s great heritage in Italy and throughout the world. The photos express the true beauty of this race, which brings together riders of all ages. We here consider Eroica an unmissable event.
Eroica, CA is limited to 1,000 riders and features three course distances – 123, 65 and 41-miles – as well as a bicycle concours, and a vintage market featuring classic bicycles and parts.
Registration is now open at eroicacalifornia.com. Proceeds from the race benefit Hospice of SLO County. We’ll see you this April.

Sheep Family Portrait

While I was driving through a sheep farm near Waiuku, New Zealand, these four sheep stopped grazing to watch me watch them, writes Your Shot member Cameron Zegers. To achieve this shot, I waited for the sheep in the back to walk into the frame. Luckily, it stopped in the perfect place, and the result looked like a well-posed family portrait.
