Taika Waititi, a little-known indie filmmaker you’ve definitely never heard of, is taking his sweet-ass time working on the sequel to What We Do in the Shadows, but worry not. The first trailer for the movie’s spinoff TV series Wellington Paranormal is here, and it looks fantastic.

With Wakanda getting more involved in the affairs of the world after the events of Black Panther, one has to imagine major sports events are on the agenda, right after sharing advanced technology and helping the planet survive alien cataclysms. Which means it’s probably time they put together some soccer teams.
If your horror-movie enjoyment requires high production values, plots delivered without yawning holes, and dialogue that always makes sense, well, best move along. If, however, you delight in horror that’s so “bad” it’s gone all the way back to good—and is genuinely entertaining—have we got a fun list for you.
New York-based brewery Ommegang sure has created some fabulous Game of Thrones-inspired beers and ales over the last several years, and they’re not stopping yet.
The most recent release is a Belgian-style blonde and sour ale based on Queen Cersei Lannister, First of her Name and ruler of the Seven Kingdoms.
This particular brew is the second release from a new selection of GoT adult beverages called the Royal Reserve Collection that will be hitting stores later this month.
Ommegang brewery president Doug Campbell says that Cersei is a complex character, and that they’ve “tried to emulate that profile with this beer, which blends a lovely, dry blonde ale with a subtly tart Belgian sour.”
Queen of the Seven Kingdoms pours a pale gold color with a brilliant white head. Aromas of melon, citrus, and lactic acidity meld together with fruity esters from the Belgian yeast. Tart citrus flavors soften to sweet malt flavors with notes of apricots. The finish is dry and crisp with a subtle citrus bite from the lemon peel. Queen of the Seven Kingdoms pairs well with sharp aged cheeses and salty cured meats, red meat or dark poultry, and spiced desserts like pumpkin pie or apple tarts.
Vice President of Global Licensing and Retail for HBO Jeff Peters said:
“When we set out to create the Royal Reserve Collection, we knew we had to pay homage the character currently sitting on the Iron Throne. We’re very happy to present this tribute to the Queen of the Seven Kingdoms herself, Cersei Lannister.”
The cast for the Fast and Furious spin-off movie continues to grow. A few days ago a report surfaced that Vanessa Kirby was in final talks to join the cast and today Variety is reporting that Idris Elba is in final talks to join the cast as the villain.

At the moment we don’t know anything about this movie aside from the fact that it’ll have the two characters played by Dwayne Johnson and Jason Statham teaming up. Johnson has become a major talent since joining the series and rumors of a feud between Johnson and Vin Diesel means Universal Pictures is looking for a way to keep both men happy.
Production for Hobbs and Shaw is set to start production this September, it’ll be directed by David Leitch, and it has a release date of July 26th, 2019. The Fast and Furious series has made $5.1 billion in the worldwide box office and has been keeping the lights on at Universal Pictures since 2001.
Workaholics star Adam Devine is set to find some of that old-time religion, joining Danny McBride (Vice Principals), John Goodman (The Big Lebowski, The Connors), and Edi Patterson (The Last O.G.) in the HBO comedy pilot The Righteous Gemstones.
Written, directed, starring, and executive produced by McBride, the half-hour comedy series is based in and around the the world of televangelism, telling the story of the world famous Gemstone televangelist family. The family has a long tradition of deviance, greed, and charitable work — all in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ. Jody Hill and David Gordon Green are also set to executive produce the project.
Devine’s Kelvin Gemstone is the youngest son of Eli (Goodman) and Amy Leigh, and he’s known as “the edgy one.” He finds himself in the middle of the giant personalities that are Jesse (McBride) and Judy Gemstone (Patterson) and has branded himself an outsider to the church, feeling his methods are too hardcore for mainstream religion. Kelvin doesn’t have bigger ambitions for the head seat at the table but focuses his efforts on the eradication of Satan and dark forces from everyday life.
Goodman’s family patriarch Eli Gemstone is an unbending force in the ministry game. He’s known the world over for his aggressive salvation techniques, his worldwide ministries, and his award-winning weekly television program. McBride’s Jesse Gemstone is the eldest son and heir to the throne who“walks in his father’s shadow while simultaneously blazing his own path. Like his father Eli, Jesse demands loyalty from those in his circle and surrounds himself by those that will follow him. Patterson’s Judy isn’t offered the same opportunities within the church as Jesse and Kelvin because she’s a woman, leaving her resentful and longing for the day when she can stand on stage with her family on Sunday mornings.
HBO is hoping the third time’s the charm, with The Righteous Gemstones marking the cable giants third collaboration with McBride, Hill, and Green. Having recently ended its two-season run, comedy series Vice Principals also starred McBride. Prior to that, the trio worked on baseball comedy series Eastbound & Down, which aired for four seasons and wrapped up in 2013.
Co-creating and co-starring in hit Comedy Central series Workaholics, Devine has also appeared as a recurring character on ABC’s hit sitcom Modern Family. On the big screen, the actor’s appeared in the first two Pitch Perfect movies, Mike and Dave Need Wedding Dates, Game Over, Man!, and When We First Met.

Wendy (Laura Linney) and Marty (Jason Bateman) consider the consequences of their season 1 actions – but they might need to put their conversation on hold as Netflix‘s second-season teaser for Ozark hints at a much larger danger coming home to roost for The Byrdes. Set to return to the streaming service on August 31, the series also stars Julia Garner, Janet McTeer and Trevor Long.

Here’s your first look at the upcoming second season of Ozark from Netflix:
In the anticipated second season, the Byrde family continues to navigate the troubled money-laundering and drug cartel waters. With Del (Esai Morales) out, the crime syndicate sends its ruthless attorney Helen Pierce (McTeer) to town to shake things up just as the Byrdes finally are settling in. Marty and Wendy struggle to balance their family interests amid the escalating dangers presented by their partnerships with the power-hungry Snells, the cartel and their new deputy, Ruth Langmore (Garner), whose father Cade (Trevor Long) has been released from prison. The stakes are even higher than before — and the Byrdes soon realize they have to go all in before they can get out.

In an interview with Deadline Hollywood earlier this week, Linney responded to whether Ozark‘s socio-political themes were purposefully meant to reflect our current environment:
“No, the show was developed and written before the election. So, I think, once President Trump took office, it took on a different significance in a way that we didn’t see coming. But it certainly has touched on something that is in the air, or is current. I think people are attracted to it for a variety of different reasons. One of them is just the inherent political world that we’re living in right now. I think so much of it is about identity. Who are you? What do you believe? What do you do? What are your ethics? What are you striving for? What’s important to you? What are your priorities? Where do you cut corners, where do you not? Who are we? I think it ultimately points to the questions a lot of Americans are asking themselves, on both sides of any issue. What do I believe in and what do I stand for and does that affect my actions? So I think it sort of does go into that world a bit.”
A year ago director Edgar Wright released Baby Driver, which went on to not only be one of the sleeper hits of the summer, but it was also one of the best movies of 2017. There have been rumors for months that Wright was working on a sequel, but no one is really saying anything definitive yet. Wright is not a man who does sequels, but this seems to be the one that he might make an exception for. Wright took to Twitter to acknowledge the film’s first anniversary since its release and to drop another hint that a sequel with Ansel Elgort could be coming sooner rather than later.
‘Baby Driver’ was released one year ago today. Had a wild ride with it in the last 365 days. so I thank you for all your beautiful responses, it means everything. And who knows, maybe he could get back on the road soon… pic.twitter.com/MgtRlPACau
A sequel to Baby Driver would have to address the ending and whether or not it was real. There is a debate among fans of the movie that the ending was either the real world or some sort of dream by Baby as he rotted in prison. Wright still seems keen to make this happen, so maybe we’ll get some sort of announcement soon.
In the futuristic world of Demolition Man, there are no guns, you don’t curse, you wipe your butt with three seashells, and you eat fancy dinners at Taco Bell. The same thing is true for this year’s San Diego Comic-Con (well, minus the seashells, probably).
Bad Times at the El Royale looks like it could be one of those movies that comes out of nowhere and is either a huge smash hit or fades into obscurity. At the moment it looks like it could be fantastic, with an amazing cast and a killer premise that looks like if Quentin Tarantino directed Cabin in the Woods. The official Facebook page for the upcoming movie has released eight new character posters showing all of the main players walking the line between two states to get to the hotel.
If you haven’t seen the trailer for this one yet, it’s absolutely worth a look.
Summary: Seven strangers, each with a secret to bury, meet at Lake Tahoe’s El Royale, a rundown hotel with a dark past. Over the course of one fateful night, everyone will have a last shot at redemption… before everything goes to hell.
Bad Times at the El Royale, directed by Drew Goddard, stars Jeff Bridges, Cynthia Erivo, Dakota Johnson, Jon Hamm, Cailee Spaeny, Lewis Pullman, Nick Offerman, and Chris Hemsworth. It will be released on October 5th.

A business saga almost worthy of its own summer comic book event might be getting close to its big finale. Last week’s news of Jane Goldman’s Game of Thrones prequel pilot may not be the end of HBO’s spinoff plans. Of course, we’ve known for some time that HBO was considering five possible prequels to continue, and expand, the Game of Thrones universe—but we still have no idea just how many will pan out. We have a new trailer and poster for the upcoming Mortal Engines. Unlike the last teaser, this one tells those of unfamiliar with the source material a lot more about the plot. The idea that the human race would only need an hour to send itself back into the stone age is frightening when you think about it. The various moving cities look stunning, but that’s what we expect from producer Peter Jackson and the people at Weta. This is going to be one to keep an eye on.
With a new trailer also comes a new poster featuring main character Hester Shaw played by Hera Hilmar.
Summary: Many years after the “Sixty Minute War,” cities survive a now desolate Earth by moving around on giant wheels attacking and devouring smaller towns to replenish their resources.
Mortal Engines, directed by Christian Rivers, stars Hera Hilmar, Hugo Weaving, Frankie Adams, Caren Pistorius, Stephen Lang, and Robert Sheehan. It will be released on December 18th.

If you’re driving around the province of Ontario, Canada, you’ll notice that in about a week you’ll be asked to vote for a new Premier. And judging by the yard signs, you have four options: Progressive Conservative Party leader Doug Ford, the New Democratic Party’s Andrea Horwath, current Liberal premier Kathleen Wynne, or Kryptonian military leader General Zod. Sadly, as Zod is a fictional character from DC Comics, he is not officially on the ballot, but that doesn’t change the potential ground swell of support that appears to be kneeling before him.
How did the image of Terence Stamp from the 1978 and 1980 Superman films end up on yard signs? According to reports this was the work of Zoltan Hawryluk of Toronto who came up with the idea after a few drinks two weeks ago, but it has caught on and started being reprinted and posted in various yards across the city. He made a high res version available for anyone who wants it. The post includes a campaign slogan of, ‘Less Evil than the Other Guy.’
But it hasn’t stopped there. Someone other than Hawryluk seemed to like the idea of Dru-Zod… yes, his first name isn’t General, to be the new premiere of the province and started up a General Zod for Premiere twitter account.
The bio for the twitter account reads: “General Zod is dedicated to the subjugation of the people of Ontario. He is a ruthless dictator. In short, a better choice than Doug Ford.” And it suggests Ursa for Minister of Subjugation and Non as Minister of Smiting.
Now I know that Zod is basically a bad guy, but he always had Krypton’s best interest at heart and compared to some of the other politicians that have been running lately, He doesn’t seem so bad. It will be interesting to see how many write in votes he gets.
Seems like the Ontario election just got a little interesting as General Zod enters the race! I haven’t seen a platform yet, but he is quoted as saying, “I win! I always win. Is there no one on this planet to even challenge me?!” #ONpoli#ONelection2018pic.twitter.com/K1bzAfb191
So you think you know Westworld, huh? You’ve got the second season all figured out? Well, Jimmi Simpson is here to set you straight—or not, because I don’t believe a single word he’s saying here.
Late last week, the company behind Sesame Street filed a lawsuit against the company behind The Happytime Murders to stop the movie from using the tag line “No sesame, all street.” The fear was it could damage the Sesame Street brand by connecting it to the hard R-rated puppet film. CANNES, FRANCE – MAY 18, 2005: Morgan Freeman attends the 58th International Cannes Film Festival. Editorial credit: Denis Makarenko / Shutterstock.com
A production assistant from the set of Going in Style is among the accusers. She alleges to CNN the following:
In one incident, she said, Freeman “kept trying to lift up my skirt and asking if I was wearing underwear.” He never successfully lifted her skirt, she said — he would touch it and try to lift it, she would move away, and then he’d try again. Eventually, she said, “Alan [Arkin] made a comment telling him to stop. Morgan got freaked out and didn’t know what to say.”
It appears that Freeman wasn’t just behaving this way towards younger crew members. A senior production staffer on Now You See Me told CNN that he harassed her and her assistants on numerous occasions.
“He did comment on our bodies… We knew that if he was coming by … not to wear any top that would show our breasts, not to wear anything that would show our bottoms, meaning not wearing clothes that [were] fitted,” she said.
Freeman is one of Hollywood’s most beloved and busiest stars. Unfortunately though, such allegations against yet another high-profile man in Hollywood come as no surprise. Kevin Spacey and Harvey Weinstein opened the floodgates for victims to finally feel comfortable coming forward. CNN spoke to 16 people in their investigation, eight of whom came forward to accuse Freeman of inappropriate behavior.
Reportedly a considerable amount of the harassment took place at Revelations Entertainment, which Freeman co-founded. His fellow co-founder Lori McCreary is said to have been witness to one of the incidents, but did not reply to CNN’s request for comment.
While many who have worked with Freeman said they’ve never witnessed questionable behavior, it’s apparent that in general Hollywood doesn’t exactly have the best sense of awareness on these things. Or will often willfully ignore such alleged transgressions.
Freeman has yet to issue comment on the accusations.

Netflix has released a trailer for their upcoming comedy special starring Steve Martin and Martin Short, An Evening You Will Forget For The Rest Of Your Life. The pair have of course been bastions of the comedy world for decades (not a crack at their respective ages, just the facts, folks), and this Netflix special is just the latest in a long string of laugh-inducing projects.
Martin and Short filmed the special at the Peace Center in Greenville, South Carolina while on their ongoing national tour. So for fans who aren’t able to see the two comedians live, they have this feature to look forward to and more. The special will have all-new material that viewers will enjoy in the form of musical sketches and conversations about their storied careers. Expect the wildest exchanges that encompass their lives in the topsy-turvy worlds of showbiz and stand-up.
Steve Martin and Martin Short
Steve Martin and Martin Short: An Evening You Will Forget For The Rest Of Your Life will feature a soundtrack by Grammy Award-winning bluegrass band The Steep Canyon Rangers and renowned jazz pianist (and Jimmy Kimmel Live band member) Jeff Babko, as well as Martin’s signature banjo playing.

Big Mouth‘s Andrew (John Mulaney) and Nick (Nick Kroll) are getting some welcome (???) additions to their animated assault on the brutal realities of puberty and adolescence: Gina Rodriguez (Jane: The Virgin) and David Thewlis (Wonder Woman, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows) have joined the voice cast of Netflix’s adult animated comedy series. Created by executive producers Kroll, Andrew Goldberg (Family Guy); and screenwriter-directors Mark Levin and Jennifer Flackett, the second season is expected to premiere in late 2018.
Credit: Netflix
Rodriguez will voice Gina, a girl on Missy (Jenny Slate) and Jessi’s (Jessi Klein) soccer team who shakes up the social dynamics of the school; creating serioys drama in the process. Thewlis jumps onto the more “supernatural” side of things as The Shame Wizard, the Hormone Monster’s (Kroll) mortal enemy who haunts the kids, stoking their deepest shame.
Here’s a look back at the first season of Netflix’s Big Mouth, which premiered on the streaming service on September 29, 2017:
Big Mouth is a 10-episode, half-hour edgy adult animated comedy from real-life best friends Nick Kroll and Andrew Goldberg about the glorious nightmare that is teenaged puberty. Comedian John Mulaney lends his voice to the character of Andrew, while Kroll (who serves as co-creator, executive producer) voices many including best friend Nick. Maya Rudolph, Jason Mantzoukas, Jordan Peele, Fred Armisen, Jenny Slate and Jessi Klein are among those who lend their voice to the series.”
Credit: Netflix
Before the show’s premiere, Kroll explained to GQ that the title and entire concept behind the show are things that are very personal to him and those he grew up with on a number of levels:
“I always physically had a big mouth. If you look at pictures of me from childhood, it’s like I’m all mouth and forehead, I guess not that much has changed. So, that’s the literal meaning of it, but the metaphorical meaning is, I think, that I had a big mouth. I just was a little guy and a bit of a shit talker and the show is based on me and my best friend from childhood, Andrew Goldberg. We met in first grade, became best friends around middle school, and then have stayed close throughout.
Andrew was ravished by puberty. He had a beard at 13. His dad made his mom wax his upper lip. He slow danced with a girl and came in his pants at a bar mitzvah. I was a very late bloomer. I didn’t get my first pube until probably high school.
This is a show about two boys who were best friends and shared everything, except physically they were in very different places.”
YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEES!!!!!! Better than I thought it would be.
Another movie that has been lamenting in development hell is finally getting a release this summer and now we get a look at what to expect. The Happytime Murders was first pitched back in 2008 but after a bunch of false starts STX Entertainment and Melissa McCarthy are bringing this R-rated puppet comedy to the big screen. STX released the first trailer to pair alongside some theatrical screenings of Deadpool 2, which considering the jokes and subject matter lines up, and posted the trailer to youtube.
We also have the logo and a banner from the top of their social media accounts but no poster so far. The banner is probably similar to the design of the poster.
Summary: When the puppet cast of an ’80s children’s TV show begins to get murdered one by one, a disgraced LAPD detective-turned-private eye puppet takes on the case.
The Happytime Murders, directed by Brian Henson, stars Melissa McCarthy, Maya Rudolph, Leslie David Baker, Bill Barretta, and Elizabeth Banks. It will be released on August 17th, 2018.
