Holy Shit, You Guys Are Really Going To Like Edge of Tomorrow

We were always slightly excited for Tom Cruise's Groundhog Day-meets-Starship Troopers movie Edge of Tomorrow, but we had no idea it was this good! We've seen Edge of Tomorrow and it is spectacular fun. Here's our (practically spoiler-free) first impressions.

why does this have 32k notes? it’s just a picture of a knife in a ranch bottle, is there some unspoken joke that 32 thousand people share? what is going on here, i dont get it. it’s just a fucking picture of a knife in a ranch bottle. is there some spiritual connection people have to this picture? is there some ominous and mystical reasoning that this has 32 thousand notes? do people reblog this because it makes them look like some indie blogger? or is there just something funny to this? someone please explain

O_O

Not gonna lie, I’m quite excited about this one, the trailer hits all the right notes for me. The show seems more meta-human oriented and I’m pretty sure I saw negative flash.

Transistor Tunes In A Launch Trailer

by Mike Futter

Supergiant Games wowed us with its first title, Bastion (our review), back in 2011. Its storytelling and action felt both familiar and fresh. To say that we’re expecting big things from the studio’s second effort, Transistor, might be an understatement.

In a new launch trailer, we’re given a new look at the antagonists hunting Red. The gameplay is set against “Old Friends,” from the game’s soundtrack (composed by Darren Korb). You’ll also likely recognize the voice of the narrator, Logan Cunningham, who played a big part in making Bastion so memorable.

(Please visit the site to view this media)

Transistor is out on May 20 for PC and PS4. You can read more about why it was one of our favorite titles of PAX East here

Snowpiercer Is One Of The Best Sci-Fi Movies In Years

by Luke Plunkett

Snowpiercer Is One Of The Best Sci-Fi Movies In Years

Imagine the claustrophobia and last-man standing dystopia of Battlestar Galactica married to the comedic oppression of Terry Gilliam's Brazil. Now imagine all of that is stuck on a train. That's Snowpiercer.

What is Hack/Slash about?

Dix

Hmmm.... a la cua :P

(Dissabte al final no vaig poguer, ho sento -_- )

Let me explain you a thing

This is Cassie Hack

image

These are bullies

image

This is her mother

image

This what her mother does to bullies

image

This is what her mother does instead of going to jail

image

She then went into foster care and went to a new school. But then her mother came back as a slasher (super evil psycho killers.. sometimes they are .. not natural) and killed some kids.

image

So Cassie shot her dead and buried her body. This was the start of Cassie’s career as a killer of killers.

She hears about some strange killings in Chicago and goes off to find this killer known as The Meatman

And what she finds is a giant deformed human wearing a gas mask.

image

She attacks him but it turns out he wasn’t the killer. They team up and take down the real killer and so begins the greatest friendship in ALL of comicdom.

Like really. Nobody else comes close. The love these two have for each other is amazing.

They travel the country together hunting out slashers. Along the way they pick up new friends and make powerful enemies.

There’s crossovers with horror icons like Chucky and Re-animator and recently there was a crossover with Army of Darkness.

You should read it because it’s one of my favourite comics starring two of my fave characters. If you like horror it’s a definite must read.

If Stuntmen from the old movies don’t have your full respect then I just don’t know what to say to you

l tried really hard not to reblog this

Yeah, it is indeed really hard not to reblog a fucking thing.

Dudes, really important note: this is not a stuntman, this is Buster Keaton, the star of all these films. He did all of his own stunts. All of them - well except one in the film “College” because he didn’t have enough time to learn how to fucking pole vault for the scene. He was practically an Olympic-grade athlete and did stunts so dangerous that his cameramen were told to keep rolling the camera unless one of two things happened: Buster yelled “cut!” or if Buster died. That was it. And he nearly died on more than one occasion and got some great shots out of it. The last gif was an accident. He was supposed to make it to the other building, but when he fell and saw the take, he realized he could use it and add more gags to the films. Oh and that makeshift escalator he’s tumbling on? In the first filming of it, he broke his ankle and his doctor said he couldn’t do more crazy stunts until it healed. So he made another short film which included a dance with vigorous hopping on his feet. He also almost drowned in one film and even broke his neck in another - and he didn’t even know it until years later when a doctor saw the healed fracture on an x-ray.

Buster Keaton was a comedic genius, a badass, and basically the unbreakable man. His movies are some of the greatest comedies of the silent era. Everyone should watch him.

+1 Buster Keaton == required viewing.

Star Wars Episode VII Cast Announced

by Mike Futter

LucasFilm has announced the cast of the upcoming seventh film in the Star Wars saga. A new roster of actors will join original cast members Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher, Mark Hamill, Anthony Daniels, Peter Mayhew, and Kenny Baker.

Roles have not been announced yet, but LucasFilm has confirmed that John Boyega (24: Live Another Day), Daisy Ridley, Adam Driver (Girls), Oscar Isaac (Inside Llewyn Davis), Andy Serkis (Lord of the Rings), Domhnall Gleeson (Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows), and Max von Sydow (Minority Report).

EA has said that it won’t be making games based off of the movies, but these characters could be ripe for side stories. Chances are if that happens, we’ll see these actors popping up in titles from DICE or Visceral.

Star Wars Episode VII will be released in theaters on December 18, 2015. J.J. Abrams is directing.

Our Take
The more details we get about the upcoming Star Wars films, the more excited I become that they are happening. December 2015 will be here before we know it.
