《如果我可以冬眠（Baavgai Bolohson/If Only I Could Hibernate）》是一部讓人看了心疼，最後卻能帶著微笑離場的電影。

電影的關鍵詞是「如果」，生活中出現了如果，是否就意謂著欲望不滿足的困境？也訴說著一種祈願？試舉四例：

如果你看見三個高中生在籃球場上用寶特瓶取代籃球，你會讚美他們的創意？還是看見他們的貧窮？

如果你看見小兄妹猜拳，輸家要去賣場索討紙箱，你會以為他們想去回收變賣？還是看見他們買不起煤炭的貧窮？

如果你看見社工帶著先進的燃煤過濾機來改善家中燃煤，卻發現家裡沒燃也沒電，還是硬把機器裝好就走人了，你看見的是照表操課的官僚？還是扶弱濟貧的社工？

如果你以為蒙古風情應該像古詩描寫的「天蒼蒼，野茫茫。風吹草低見牛羊」，結果天不蒼，地霧矇，你看見的是現代化？還是文明的污染？

《如果我可以冬眠》是一部蒙古電影，其實也是一部政治電影，然而導演Zoljargal Purevdash沒有一個字批評政府，反而是透過住在蒙古裡的男主角烏爾（Battsooj Uurtsaikh飾演）一家人看見巨大的貧富落差現況，以及不甘心被貧窮擊敗的志氣。「如果我可以冬眠。」是烏爾幼弟的一句台詞，如果他們能像熊一樣冬眠，就不怕酷寒，也不愁飢餓，因為飢寒交迫就是他們困在蒙古包裡的生活實況。動物可以一眠解千愁，凡人可以比照嗎？多卑微的問句？多無奈的歎息。

蒙古首都烏蘭巴托有現代化建築和傳統蒙古包，中產階級人民住進現代化建築，無法忍受蒙古包裡的窮人每天依靠燃煤取暖，排放大量空污，導致首都成天陰霾霧茫，要求更好的生活品質是人心之常，問題在於烏爾一家三餐不繼，連煤炭都買不起，只能靠燒紙箱維持最起碼的火苗，他們的困窮，富人完全無法想像，空污是事實，貧窮更是，不解決貧窮，空污只會終日循還，更無解。

電影提供的解方是教育。烏爾有數學和物理長才，只要在全國競賽得名，就能改善生活，但是母親嗜酒，工資微薄，又返鄉棄他們不顧，照顧弟妹的責任就落在烏爾肩上，他再也不能和同學去滑冰，不是上課打瞌睡，就是得跟著山老鼠上山伐木，他不想跟任何人解釋，他不想在別人面前流淚示弱，咬著牙在天寒地凍的晚上抱著薄薄一張被子苦讀物理書。

《如果我可以冬眠》是一部勵志電影，Battsooj Uurtsaikh飾演的烏爾不但極具魅力，而且極有說服力，對生活困境他沒有一字抱怨，能讓弟妹溫飽，他就有笑容；能向母親報佳音，他更像是驕傲的大哥。生命尊嚴，他身體力行，所以觀眾會認同進而欣慰同歡。
