Joshua Chen目前政治上堅持 "成長教條" 的原因是擴張的貨幣制度。打消債務的幾招說穿了只是 "誰來還" 的區別。 1 縮衣節食，自己還，2 違約，債主還，3 印鈔票 bailout 貨幣貶值，全部用這個貨幣或者 peg 這個貨幣的人還，4 經濟成長，大自然還。每個人都有利益動機，目前政治主要是被持有巨額債務的人把持，而且他們不喜歡 1。如果情況往南，沒能做到 4，也可以有 2 或 3，如果是 3 還可以有減少低端人口降低整體資源壓力的效果。如果情況往北，在一個沒有新錢的世界裡每個人持有的貨幣有一樣的貨幣升值比例所以也只有一樣的財富增漲幅度，在一個有新錢的世界裡越靠近新錢的人財富增漲幅度越高其他人財富漲幅度變低。不管情況南北，選 4 都有利。

Only two types of jobs in the world materially. Type 1, ones who get the energy surplus into the society from Nature like farmers, hunters, fishers, oil/power production, ...etc. Type 2, ones who get the energy surplus from other persons. Type 1 jobs harm/rob the Nature directly. Type 2 jobs are basically an accounting change hand of the ownership of the energy surplus in their deals and hoping someday to enjoy the surplus. Although type 2 jobs do not increase the energy surplus of the society as the whole, flourish of type 2 jobs will induce the activity of type 1 jobs; after all, no persons are fun at money itself only (aka "earn a billion then burn it, instead of consume it or distribute it to others so that others can consume it”) and no person can drive Harley motorcycles without energy.
Contrary to the doctrine of "it is responsible to work hard to get the money", in the sustainable economy respect the doctrine is really "it is responsible to work less (therefore consume less) to get the money in type 2 jobs and harm less Nature in type 1 jobs".
A side note for this legend, luckily, he has a good family who never blames his "lazy".
David Brandt, who died last week, was an Ohio farmer known for his pioneering work in no-till farming. But social media users knew him better as the overall-clad farmer from the "honest work" meme.
