Game of Thrones has scored a record-breaking awards haul at this year's Emmy ceremony. The hugely popular HBO fantasy show picked up 12 prizes, including Best Drama Series for the first time.

The show had already started the race with 24 nominations, more than any other in 2015, and the number of wins is the highest ever for a single series in one year. The success is particularly notable because fantasy and sci-fi shows have been notably under-represented at the Emmys over the years. Prior to last night's victory, the only genre show in the entire 67-year history of the awards to win the Outstanding Drama Series statuette was Lost in 2005.

As well taking home the top prize, Game of Thrones also won Best Writing (showrunners David Benioff and Dan Weiss), Best Directing (David Nutter), and Best Supporting Actor for Peter Dinklage, a previous winner. These four key awards are in addition to the eight it claimed last week at the Creative Arts Emmys, which included prizes for editing, sound mixing, make-up, and visual effects.

The Game of Thrones haul means that HBO took home no fewer than 41 awards, with political comedy Veep and miniseries Olive Kitteridge also victorious. Elsewhere, Jon Hamm won Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series for the final season of Mad Men, while Viola Davis became the first African-American woman to win an Emmy for Best Lead Actress in a Drama Series, collecting the statuette for How to Get Away With Murder.

The Pacific Rim sequel from director Guillermo del Toro and Legendary Pictures, which was scheduled to hit theaters in 2017, has been put on hold, and may never see the light of day. That's according to multiple sources speaking to The Hollywood Reporter, who claim that Pacific Rim 2 "isn't a sure thing."

"Sources say Legendary liked that the original performed exceptionally well in China, where the company is heavily invested, but for now the project--which had been ramping up to make a release date in August 2017--has been halted indefinitely and will be pushed back (if it gets made at all)," the report claims.

Pacific Rim hit theaters in October 2014 and made around $411 million worldwide against a reported $190 million budget. The monster movie starred Sons of Anarchy's Charlie Hunnam and Ron Perlman, as well as Idris Elba, Rinko Kikuchi, and Charlie Day.

This news, if true, is no doubt a bummer for del Toro. The filmmaker said in a 2014 interview that he was hoping to make three Pacific Rim movies.

All is forgiven, M. Night Shyamalan. If we had to endure the director’s last decade of cinematic abortions—which ranged from the hilariously bad (The Happening) to the utterly unwatchable (After Earth)—to get something as hilarious, weird, surprising, and nonstop entertaining as The Visit, it was well worth it. Not only is Shyamalan’s latest movie his best since The Sixth Sense, it’s an adrenalin shot to the creatively comatose subgenre of POV horror. Even more exciting is that it’s one of at least four solid horror movies opening this month (the others include Goodnight Mommy , Cooties, and Eli Roth’s ode to Italian cannibal movies, The Green Inferno). One moment, the horror genre seems deader than the bodies it piles up on screen, staler than the air in the haunted houses it’s been fixated on for the past few years; the next, we’re treated to an embarrassment of riches. (I would love to know if there ever in the history of modern horror have been four solid entries into the genre released in one month. I doubt it. That it’s happening in 2015 blows my mind.) We should probably stop laughing at Shyamalan when his name pops onscreen during the trailers for his upcoming movies . Instead, we should be thanking the man.

Miss Piggy and Kermit the Frog announced early last month that they were done with each other after nearly 40 years together and I thought it was some shameless stunt to promote their new show on ABC. It may very well still be a shameless stunt, but if it is, they’re milking it all the way by introducing Kermit the Frog’s new piece Denise! (I love that her name is Denise.) I guess Kermit is a 100% porkosexual, because he just can’t get enough of pig.

No, Kermit and Denise didn’t meet on Ashley Madison. They met at ABC (so they claim). Denise is the head of ABC’s marketing department, so it’s not exactly a coincidence that ABC released pictures of that barn wrecking gold digging tramp swine. A source (Denise) also told People that Kermit’s got it bad for Denise.

Kermit, who is still working with Miss Piggy on her late-night talk show Up Late with Miss Piggy – a situation that is being documented on the upcoming ABC series The Muppets – has been spotted around town numerous times with a head of marketing at ABC named Denise, a source tells PEOPLE exclusively.

“She’s always stopping by the set of Up Late,” the source says of Denise. “He calls her his girlfriend,” adds the source.

Meanwhile, Miss Piggy is drying her sad tears on Liam Hemsworth. Does that mean that Liam is a Plushie, is into bestiality or a little of both?

Miss Piggy is a legend, an icon of glamour and yes, she flirts with other tricks, but she’s always been ride or die for Kermit. On the other hoof, she’s a sloppy drunk, a bossy bitch and is always issuing a karate chop on Kermie. Then there’s Denise. Denise has an A++ eyebrow situation, is already an accomplished home wrecker and she looks like the scheming type who will “leak” dick pics once Kermit drops her. But on the other hoof, her snout job is a mess, she’ll probably become friends with the Kartrashians, she’s definitely trying to get a reality show out of it and you know she’s got THOT (that hog over there) tattooed on her felt ass cheek. I bet it’s only a matter of time before we see her batting her scheming eyes for the paps as she works the ho stroll while struttin’ to the brand new Lexus convertible that Kermit bought her.

And if Denise is really going to play the game, she needs to elevate her fashion and stop buying her shit from Dress Barn.
