Watch These Little Girls Cover Metallica and Rock Out Harder Than Most Adults
Dj10beari dare you to skip to 2 min mark and take it from there... how long can u last?
Say what?! Daniela, Paulina, and Alejandra are just 14, 12, and 9 years old respectively, but they shred so hard that their cover of Metallica's "Enter Sandman" is currently taking over the Internet. The girls have formed a band called The Warning, and their cover video from last Summer only takes a few seconds of viewing to figure out why it's blowing up. We have to say, it's one of the better song covers we've heard in recent memory. Watch the video in its entirety above, and then join us in the mosh pit.
RIP

They Drove Cross-Country In An Autonomous Minivan Without GPS. In 1995.
Dj10bearthe 90's were amazing
(Think Delphi’s cross-country voyage in an autonomous Audi SQ5 is impressive? Try doing it with 90s tech, without GPS navigation, and in a salvaged Pontiac minivan. That’s what Carnegie Mellon research scientist Dean Pomerleau and then-Ph.D. student Todd Jochem did in 1995. Here’s the story of their journey as it appeared on Robotics Trends. — PG)
New MacBook Meta-Review: The Laptop of the Future, Just a Tad Too Early
Dj10bearweak. what a surprise.
Apple’s newest MacBook is undeniably slick. But with its single port and a processor that’s far from super-charged , it’s also got a few potential pain points. The first reviews are just coming in, and it seems like a shoo-in for Laptop of the Future. Just maybe not quite yet.

David Lynch walks away from Showtime’s Twin Peaks
Is it curtains for Showtime’s new season of Twin Peaks?
After the excitement felt by cult TV fans everywhere when US TV network Showtime announced they would be bringing David Lynch and Mark Frost’s Twin Peaks back to screens in 2016, it felt like everything was finally falling into place.
Today however, the bad news that’s been rumored for a few weeks now was confirmed by Lynch via Twitter. The director posted that after over a year of negotiations he’s walking away because Showtime can’t guarantee a budget to producer the script as “it needed to be done.”
The show isn’t cancelled – Lynch explicitly said “Showtime did not pull the plug” – but without Lynch’s involvement it’s not hard to fear the worst. Last time he stepped away from the show we were treated to some of the worst episodes of the show’s run.
Update: Here’s Showtime’s statement:
“We were saddened to read David Lynch’s statement today since we believed we were working towards solutions with David and his reps on the few remaining deal points. SHOWTIME also loves the world of Twin Peaks and we continue to hold out hope that we can bring it back in all its glory with both of its extraordinary creators, David Lynch and Mark Frost, at its helm.”
You can read the series of Tweets below.
Dear Twitter Friends, Showtime did not pull the plug on Twin Peaks.

After 1 year and 4 months of negotiations, I left because not enough money was offered to do the script the way I felt it needed to be done.

This weekend I started to call actors to let them know I would not be directing. Twin Peaks may still be very much alive at Showtime.

I love the world of Twin Peaks and wish things could have worked out differently.

Point & Shoot: 8-Bit Gameboy Gun Takes and Prints Pictures
This fun bit of retrofuturistic tech genius looks like an ‘80s designer’s idea of a high-tech camera smashed up with a toy gun, and it actually works, taking and printing photos. Russian artist Dmitry Morozov combined a GameBoy screen with an Arduino processor, a camera, optical relays and an original GameBoy thermal printer.
The ‘gbg-8’ is attached to a plastic toy gun so you can literally ‘point and shoot.’ To take a photo, you pull the trigger (which might make selfies a bit… uncomfortable.)
As soon as the image is captured, the gadget prints out a streaky, blurry, pixelated image, just like we remember from the heyday of Nintendo. It may not be the greatest quality, but that’s hardly the point.
