Is This the Coziest Treehouse Ever? These Pictures Will Make You Think So

You've seen some of the most unique, now check out one of the, if not the coziest, treehouses ever. It was designed by architect Missy Brown, elevated in the middle of the great outdoors. This miniature home is anchored to a 90 foot spruce tree on the owner's property, stabilized with several fallen pine trees for additional support, and boasts a spiral stair case that leads straight to the front door, where guests are welcomed with a bright and open living space. Spigen Slim Armor case for the Galaxy Note 3

by Jerry Hildenbrand

The Spigen Slim Armor case is soft on the inside and hard on the outside, just like your favorite blogger

We all try to be careful with our expensive Androids. But sometimes, stuff happens and they escape our clutches — usually when we're on a hard surface that guaranteed to break things that fall on it. Like the rocks of Mordor, or the parking lot at Winn-Dixie. It's those times that a good case can save your bacon. The Spigen Slim Armor case for the Note 3 is that good case.

Fresh off the heels of awards season, people are still buzzing about the deeply serious dramas that racked up nominations over the past two months

Oh My Disney hopped on board the dark train with a series of re-imagined posters that lend a moodier tone to some of the more lighthearted Disney classics.

Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs features the princess' face reflected in the poison apple that nearly seals her fate, while Winnie the Pooh calls back to the poster for Joaquin Phoenix's dark mockumentary I'm Still Here

And while Cinderella's movie poster gets a brightly-colored Mean Girls revamp, Oh My Disney is quick to note that the "inspiration for this one isn’t so serious, but it does have plenty of drama." Read more...

Google once again turning to LG to build upcoming Nexus [RUMOR]

by Chris Chavez

lg-f-series-7

We feel like we’ve only begun settling in with our Nexus 5 and here come rumors of its followup already buzzing around the net. We don’t expect to actually learn anything about the “Nexus 6″ for at least another 7 months, but rumors out of Germany are suggesting Google might, once again, contract LG for the building of the next Nexus due out later this year.

Nexus 6 and Nexus smartwatch

These latest rumors coming out of  Gizmodo (Germany) claiming to even have a few details of the device, saying it will be a lightweight version of the LG G3 said to launch this June. Also mentioned was LG also building the much rumored Nexus smartwatch, a growing trend in wearable computing.

Nexus 6 concept

Android fans are sure to point out the fact that LG was already “chosen” as the manufacture of the last 2 Nexuses/Nexi ( Nexus 4 and Nexus 5), leaving us to question the legitimacy of these rumors. Really, it’s tough to say with certainty exactly what Google will do. Although, typically, Google hasn’t stuck with any one manufacturer more than twice when building the Nexus, they’ve never actually come out and said 2 was ever the magic number.

Of course, we (as well as most of you) would have liked to see another OEM take a stab at building a low cost smartphone running stock Android software, with HTC and Sony immediately coming to mind.

6-inch Nexus?

Another point to consider is whether or not Google will even call the device the Nexus 6 or simply the Nexus 5 (2014). The number designates the display size of the device, not the generation. It’s entirely possible they could always go big and build a 6-inch smartphone (based on the LG G Flex or LG G Pro 2) but that’s territory very few OEMs (or consumers) are willing to go.

Thoughts?

Xbox One SmartGlass app for Android brings push notifications in latest update

by Quentyn Kennemer

XboxOne SmartGlass Android

The Xbox One SmartGlass app has always been pretty good, but there were always a couple of things holding it back in comparison to other versions. Namely, Android users never had the ability to receive a notification for new messages as soon as they come in. They were instead forced to check manually, which can be a drag.

But today’s update changes all of that as Microsoft has finally added push notification support, so there should be no excuse for you missing your friends’ cries to come play Titanfall when it drops March 11th. Push notifications weren’t the only new thing Android users got in today’s upgrade, though.

Microsoft has added the ability to unsnap a snapped app without having to use the remote feature. You also get a tweaked friends list that automatically shows your favorites at the top, much like the full-sized app now does on the Xbox One following the March upgrade. Microsoft has also cleaned the activity feed up a tad. Finally, you can now access all your own GameDVR clips with a new menu option instead of having to jump into your profile view.

You should be looking for version 2.2, which is only available for devices running Android 4.0 or higher. It’s just 14MB large so you shouldn’t have much of a problem grabbing this one over your 3G or 4G connection. Find it for free in the Google Play Store right here.

25 Interesting Things Airline Pilots Probaby Won't Tell You

With large airlines, it's always about the money, and these are some things that their pilots aren't supposed to tell passengers. In commercial aviation, the first officer is the second pilot of an aircraft. The first officer is second-in-command of the aircraft, to the captain who is the legal commander. In the event of incapacitation of the captain, the first officer will assume command of the aircraft. In the rank of senior first officer the pilot will also sit in the right hand seat. Often the senior first officer position is used within airlines to mean someone who has passed all the requirements for captain, but there are no captains positions within the company as yet, and therefore they are "on hold" until a position as captain becomes available when they will receive their command line check. In Parts of U.S., March Is the Coldest It's Been Since the 1800s

by Andrew Freedman

For cities such as Chicago, Detroit, Philadelphia and New York, this winter is behaving like a houseguest that can’t take a hint that it's time to go.

Even though meteorological winter has officially ended (it runs from December through February), extraordinarily cold temperatures and snowstorms remain the major weather story of the day.

A renewed surge of frigid Arctic air moved southward from Canada late last week, and now blankets much of the United States. Cold temperature records continue to be set from the Upper Midwest, where several locations have had winters ranking among their top 10 coldest on record, to the Plains and the EastChicago, for example, had its third-coldest and snowiest winter on record. Idina Menzel — or Adele Dazeem, if you're John Travolta — got a standing ovation for her performance of the Oscar-winning song from Frozen, Let It Go, at the 86th annual Academy Awards ceremony. Only a day later, Menzel pulled an even more stunning performance of the song on The Tonight Show, accompanied by Jimmy Fallon and The Roots — on classroom instruments

The instruments used include toy blocks, kazoo, xylophone, melodica, bongos, chimes and a lemon shaker

In such a relaxed atmosphere, Menzel's rendering of the song is a little bit less icy than the one at the Oscars, but her voice is equally powerful. Which performance do you like better? Share your thoughts in the comments! Read more...
