Minuum Keyboard for Moto 360 revealed
We expected to see minimal keyboards such as Minuum for smart watches with square dsplays, but what about smartwatches like the Moto 360 that has a circular display? Thankfully you guys have not been forgotten as Minuum has just revealed the first keyboard for circular smartwatches.
While we don’t get a full video demo of it in action, they did drop a handy GIF of the how the keyboard will look whenever you use it. There’s one important thing to remember: the keyboard is technically useless right now considering Android Wear does not yet have text input elements built in without the use of voice.
Minuum has likely been testing their keyboard on a custom build. But should Google ever get around to implementing the functionality down the line then Minuum will be ready to deliver the keyboard fit perfectly for your display. If you’re skeptical as to the accuracy of a keyboard on such a small display you can watch some of their earlier demo videos in the YouTube embed below.
[Update]: As you guys have pointed out in the comments, this design does, in fact, forget to take into account the black strip on the bottom that is used to “cover” the smartwatch’s various sensors. We’ll be reaching out to Minuum to see what they plan to do to adapt the keyboard.

Be a better driver with the Automatic Smart Driving Assistant
While I'd consider my house to be "connected" — I can't say the same for my car. I currently drive a 2004 Mazda 3 that's slowly on its way to the grave, but I'm holding onto it as long as I can (it was my first new car purchase). It doesn't have any sort of connectivity built-in — no Bluetooth, no navigation system, no nothing. I've added some things in over the years like a standalone GPS unit, an XM radio receiver (which I've since stopped using), and even a BlackBerry Music Gateway to get a Bluetooth connection to the stock stereo. Most recently I've added the Automatic Smart Driving Assistant.
This little dongle connects to your car's OBD (on-board diagnostics) port and relays all kinds of fun info back to a companion app on your Android or iPhone device. With Automatic in use, you can track all of your car trips, miles per gallon, distance traveled, and even see where your car is parked. While driving, Automatic can also alert you to rapid acceleration, hard braking and excess speeds as well — which all have an effect on your driving score. Bad habits be gone!

Did the NBA Just Make Its Biggest Move Yet to Put Ads on Jerseys?

Soccer jerseys have sponsors front and center; NASCAR vehicles are essentially rolling billboards
Soon, the NBA could join them in giving advertisements a prominent position next to their athletes.
The NBA logo will appear on the back of players' jerseys next season, a move that has caused speculation that ads could soon appear on the newly vacated space on the shoulder. NBA commissioner Adam Silver has called ads on jerseys "inevitable."
Previously, the NBA logo only appeared on the shoulder of jerseys

Starting next season, the logo will move to the back, leaving open the space in which the league previously considered putting adsESPN's Uni Watch first noticed the change in the new uniforms released by the Charlotte Hornets Read more...

Harrison Ford Broke His Leg, Not an Ankle, on 'Star Wars' Set

Harrison Ford broke his left leg on the set of Star Wars: Episode VII last week, Mashable has confirmed with Ford's publicist, dispelling earlier reports that the 71-year-old actor broke an ankle in the accident.
"His surgery was successful and he will begin rehab shortly," said publicist Ina Treciokas. "He's doing well and looks forward to returning to work."
Ford is reprising his role as Han Solo from the original Star Wars trilogy. This new film's plot will take place three decades after Return of the Jedi, which premiered in 1983. Read more...

Fleksy Messenger aims to give you the gift of replying to texts on Gear 2 [VIDEO]
One huge problem with smart watches? You can’t type on them. Well, you’re not supposed to anyway — a 1.8-inch or smaller display makes that task quite hard. Fleksy is looking to eradicate that, though, with their latest app for the Samsung Gear 2.
Fleksy Messenger allows you to reply to text messages you receive using nothing but the smart watch (whereas before you were only able to view text messages). Fleksy’s impressive text prediction algorithm is put to work here, translating literal gibberish into clean English. The app makes keen use of gestures for the purpose of typing symbols and inserting spaces, leaving room for nothing but the bare QWERTY layout to take advantage of as much screen real estate as possible.
I honestly wouldn’t forego the ease of just whipping out my smartphone and comfortably typing the text out. Thirty seconds to type out a 5 word message seems pretty long. Still, should you find yourself in a situation where getting to your phone is impossible then this should be a very nice app to have handy. Find it demoed in the video above. You should be able to find the app in the Samsung Apps Store later today.
Twitter finally adds GIF support for Android, iOS, and the web
No matter how you want to pronounce it (it’s s hard “G,” by the way), I think we can all agree that GIFs general make our social networks a little more fun. We’re not sure what took so long, but in a back-end update to Twitter on both the web and its mobile apps, the microblogging network now officially supports GIFs.
Starting today, you can share and view animated GIFs on http://t.co/wJD8Fp317i, Android and iPhone. http://t.co/XBrAbOm4Ya — Twitter Support (@Support) June 18, 2014
This means you can upload these moving pictures using the native Twitter client and watch as they animate in the app. To be clear, GIFs wont load while in the timeline view (in an effort to not eat up all your data), only when clicking on a tweet to view it’s media will you be presented with the moving GIF. And move, they shall.

More about Iphone, Apple, Japan, Design, and Hardware250 all new emoji introduced in Unicode 7.0 including the long requested middle finger, here’s the full list
We weren’t expecting Unicode Standard 7.0 until next month, but it looks like it’s arrived a bit early. Available starting today, the update, which introduces 2,834 new characters, is bringing something far better than historic scripts or extended support for written languages across the globe (who needs all that junk, right?). Say hello to a whopping 250 all new emoji. Because sometimes there’s nothing that quite gets your point across like flipping someone the bird in pictograph form.
Everything from various hand signals, to new smileys is being added. Just keep in mind that platforms like Android and iOS will need to be updated to support the new standard, so don’t expect to find many of these new emoji until later updates. If you’re curious to see which new emojis made the cut, the folks at Emojipedia have provided us with the full list. Check it out below.

Facebook’s Slingshot now available for Android, offers photo sharing with a unique twist
After Facebook’s new photo sharing app, Slingshot, leaked out a bit prematurely last week, it seems the social network is finally ready to make things official. The app has just gone live on Google Play, along with the official Facebook page and new promo video announcing availability of Slingshot for both Android and iOS. You can check out the video here.
For those unaware, Slingshot is Facebook’s latest attempt to mimic the success of Snapchat. While Messenger is aimed towards direct messaging with friends and family, Slingshot’s focus is more on the social aspects of photo sharing. Like Snapchat and Instagram before it, the whole point of Slingshot is to share pics (and having friends who actually want to receive your pics). But unlike rival services, before your friends can ever view your pic, they’ll first need to send one back. It’s an interesting take on photo sharing, and one that could help increase engagement (or kill it completely).
Like most new social services, Slingshot’s success relies heavily on your circles using it. Given it’s ties to Facebook, it sounds like finding friends on the service wont be too difficult. Worst comes to worst, you can always share selfies with grandma. You can download Slingshot free for Android via the link below.
Newly leaked T-Mobile screenshots could reveal changes coming with Uncarrier 5.0
The whole world is racking their brains trying to figure out exactly what T-Mobile could announce during tomorrow’s Uncarrier 5.0 event. Like previous events, T-Mobile is setting out to eliminate customer pain points associated with the wireless industry today, but how? Well, after rumors suggested T-Mobile would simplify billing, the folks at TmoNews are here with a few leaked screenshots for extra confirmation.
First on the chopping block are prorated charges. Because no one like’s surprises on their bills, T-Mobile will eliminate their current prorated system which can sometimes leave customers with “bill shock” after seeing that first monthly bill (you know, before things drop down to normal later down the road). This means whatever the customer signs up for in the store like, say, a $70 month plan — that’s exactly what they’ll find on their first and subsequent month’s bills.
To help speed up the process of waiting around for that first EIP (equipment installment plan) payment, the first payment will be included on the very first bill, from the moment you signed up. Once again, taking out a lot of the guess work or shock that comes with seeing your low monthly payments suddenly skyrocket.
While previous rumors suggested that T-Mobile’s new simplified billing initiative would offer an “all in” what-you-see-is-what-you-get pricing (for instance, a $70 a month plan after fees and taxes would be just that — $70), that wasn’t mentioned in the leaked documentation. Of course, we’ll have to see how much of this will be confirmed during T-Mobile’s Uncarrier 5.0 event scheduled for tomorrow. Something tells us they may have a few more surprises in store.
