Apple to sell iPhone parts, allowing users to fix devices at home

Apple is taking a big step toward the "right to repair" by selling iPhone parts and tools directly to consumers.

The company announced its "Self Service Repair" initiative, allowing users to access Apple parts and tools directly. Starting in 2022, customers can buy various components for the iPhone 12 and 13, followed by Macs and M1 Chips. Each order will come with DIY instructions so users can make the repairs themselves.

"Creating greater access to Apple genuine parts gives our customers even more choice if a repair is needed," said Jeff Williams, Apple's chief operating officer, in a press statement. "In the past three years, Apple has nearly doubled the number of service locations with access to Apple genuine parts, tools, and training, and now we're providing an option for those who wish to complete their own repairs."

Apple said the program would allow "individual technicians with the knowledge and experience to repair electronic devices" while encouraging most people to go to professionals for repairs.

Apple has historically resisted the right-to-repair movement, making it increasingly difficult to fix its devices. In many cases, attempts to access the internal parts of an iPhone or iPad left the device irreversibly damaged.

In May, the Federal Trade Commission issued a report that found many mobile devices were intentionally designed to make repairs difficult and encouraged legislators to pass right-to-repair laws.

President Joe Biden issued an order in July calling for the FTC to draft new rules that would stop manufacturers from limiting a customer's ability to repair their own devices.

A federal judge Sunday night temporarily blocked a new Tennessee law banning mask mandates in schools.

Governor Bill Lee on Friday signed a new sweeping Covid bill into law banning mask mandates in schools.

Friday afternoon a lawsuit was filed on behalf of eight Tennessee students arguing their rights under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) would be violated if masks were banned in schools.

Chief Judge of the United States District Court for the Middle District of Tennessee Waverly D. Crenshaw blocked the new law.

“Given the alleged conflict and the possible confusion this creates for schools in Tennessee, pending an expedited hearing, the parties shall maintain the STATUS QUO as it pertains to students with disabilities and their federally guaranteed rights as of Thursday, November 11, 2021.” the Obama-appointed judge wrote.

Governor Bill Lee approved a document prohibiting schools from imposing mask mandates unless COVID-19 levels rise considerably Friday afternoon.

One day after the governor signed the law, suburban school districts like Collierville, Germantown and others across Shelby County began announcing policy changes.

However, in a Sunday order, U.S. District Judge Waverly Crenshaw of the Middle District of Tennessee said, “Given the alleged conflict and the possible confusion this creates for schools in Tennessee…the parties shall maintain the STATUS QUO” as of November 11, the day before Lee signed the mask mandate ban.

The judge has also scheduled a conference over the order for Monday afternoon.

According to Fox 13, several Tennessee schools announced Sunday evening they are keeping their optional mandates.

A metallurgist pleaded guilty to fraud earlier this week after she spent more than 30 years faking Navy submarine steel strength test results.

Elaine Marie Thomas, 67, of Auburn, Washington, was the director of metallurgy at a foundry that provided steel parts used by Navy contractors to build submarine.

From 1985 to 2017, Thomas falsified test results for at least 240 productions of steel.

It wasn’t until a metallurgist training to replace Thomas noticed the falsified records that her criminal activity came to light.

The new metallurgist alerted supervisors and Thomas was fired.

“Court filings indicate there is no evidence that Bradken’s management was aware of the fraud until May 2017. At that time, a lab employee discovered that test cards had been altered and that other discrepancies existed in Bradken’s records. In June 2020, Bradken entered into a deferred prosecution agreement, accepting responsibility for the offense and agreeing to take remedial measures. Bradken also entered into a civil settlement, paying $10,896,924 to resolve allegations that the foundry produced and sold substandard steel components for installation on U.S. Navy submarines.” the DOJ said.

“The Navy has taken extensive steps to ensure the safe operation of the affected submarines. Those measures will result in increased costs and maintenance as the substandard parts are monitored.” the DOJ added in a press release.

According to the Justice Department, Thomas thought it was “stupid” that the Navy required steel tests to be conducted at -100 degrees Fahrenheit.

When confronted by federal investigators about her years of faking steel strength test results, Thomas said, “Yeah, that looks real bad.”

Thomas’ attorney downplayed her criminal activity and said his client was just took some harmless shortcuts.

“Ms. Thomas never intended to compromise the integrity of any material and is gratified that the government’s testing does not suggest that the structural integrity of any submarine was in fact compromised,” Carpenter wrote. “This offense is unique in that it was neither motivated by greed nor any desire for personal enrichment. She regrets that she failed to follow her moral compass — admitting to false statements is hardly how she envisioned living out her retirement years.”

Thomas faces up to 10 years in prison and a $1 million fine but federal prosecutors said they will likely seek a lower sentence.

• A bulldozer in Denmark sweeps up seaweed and plastic from a beach and then releases it back into the water, according to video released by Danmarks Radio.
• Environmental experts who spoke with Danmarks Radio described the process as "completely idiotic."
• The process happens twice a week during the summer in Denmark.

A Denmark municipality has spent more than $150,000 a year to remove debris and seaweed from a beach only to dump it back into the water, according to Danish national broadcaster Danmarks Radio.

Video published by Danmarks Radio shows a bulldozer out in the water at Stillinge Beach in Slagelse, Denmark. The bulldozer blade lifts and appears to dump a slew of material and debris, which reportedly included plastic, into the water before coming back out to shore.

The bulldozer operator uses the rake and the blade to scoop up seaweed and plastic along the beach shore. When the collected debris fills the blade, the bulldozer heads out to the water, Danmarks Radio reported. The process happens twice a week during the summer in Denmark.

Environmental experts who spoke with Danmarks Radio described the process as "completely idiotic."

"I think it's stupid because what you do is scrape the seaweed off the beach with a big tractor that makes noise, and then you drive it into the water and deposit it, and then the tractor drives back ashore again," said Professor Torkel Gissel Nielsen, a faculty member at the National Institute of Aquatic Resources.

"And that means that what you have just thrown into the water is washed up on the beach immediately after," Nielsen added.

Deputy Mayor Villum Christensen defended the practice in an interview with Danmarks Radio.

He claimed plastic is not being swept up by the bulldozer but contended that cigarette buds and other small debris are.

"It will by and large be there anyway," Christensen said of cigarettes and other debris, according to Danmarks Radio. "The water comes and collects things and things with it, which drift out into the water again."

Christensen added that he wants Stillinge Beach to be "neat and clean."

News of the bulldozer beach-cleaning practice marks at least the second time experts have blasted Danish authorities over questionable environmental methods. Just in May, Danish officials dug up millions of dead mink despite a report from Denmark's own environmental agency warning that the process might release harsh contaminants.

• Fortunately, in the AZ Senate audit, a company by the name of CyFIR was contracted to investigate the hardware, machines, tabulators, etc used in the election.  CyFIR found and showed that the Maricopa County Recorder’s office actually deleted the entire 2020 General election results from their system the day before an audit and when the results were reinstalled on the system, approximately 269,000 ballot images were now corrupt and unreadable, in addition to approximately 30,000 missing ballots!

Elections Machines Accessed The Internet:

• In the Sept. 24^th hearing, CyFIR revealed and showed that not only can these ballot machines access the internet, but in Maricopa County they did access the internet.  In the hearing, CyFIR provided the time & date stamps to prove it as well as the IP addresses of the computers they connected to!

Canvassing Revealed Up To 173,000 Missing Ballots In Maricopa County:

• During the canvass, individuals were interviewed at their residence that were registered to vote in Maricopa County but whom the county did not record a vote.  Of those interviewed, 34.23% of these people said they had actually voted in the 2020 election.  34.23 % of these residents had voted, but no vote was ever registered or recorded for them.  Their vote was missing and not counted in the election…  When multiplying 34.23% by the number of registered Voters in Maricopa County that also show “not to have voted”, (505,709 people), there is a potential 173,000 missing Votes in Maricopa County alone!  Arizona has 14 other counties.

Canvassing Revealed Over 96,000 Ghost Votes In Arizona:

• In addition, the Canvass found that across the state of Arizona an estimated 96,389 mail-in votes were Ghost Votes!  These are votes that were cast under the names of registered voters who were either unknown to the residents of the registered address or who were verified as having moved away before October 2020.

Vicious Joy Behar mocked Kyle Rittenhouse for breaking down and crying during testimony. She called it, “The worst acting job I’ve ever seen.”
The audience applauded.

Behar continued: “They’re having a protest in another state and he takes it upon himself to go there and then it says it’s self-defense. No. That acting job of the crying. I can’t even look at it. That’s one of the worst acting jobs I’ve ever seen.”

Anyone who believes this woman is a complete fool.

COLLUSION: Georgia Tech researcher discussed using ‘bag of tricks’ to prove Trump-Russia collusion: indictment.

In building the case that Trump had worked with a bank with Kremlin ties, one of the researchers warned they would have to “expose every trick we have in our bag” to make “a very weak association” between Trump and the Russians.

According to the indictment, Georgia Tech computer scientist Manos Antonakakis (referred to in the indictment as “Researcher-1”), and data scientist David Dagon (“Researcher-2”) were on a team of data experts tasked with finding links between Trump and the Russian government.

The team’s findings were later disseminated to media outlets and to FBI investigators looking into collusion between Trump and the Russians.

So much anti-Trump desperation, makes you wonder what they were so worried about. . .

According to the indictment, four computer researchers, including Antonakakis and Dagon, used access to internet data to prove a connection between Trump’s company and a bank linked to the Kremlin.

The data was provided to Georgia Tech through a program the school had recently initiated with the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency in order to, according to the indictment, “receive and analyze large quantities of public and non-public data (including DNS data) from various Internet companies in order to identify the perpetrators of malicious cyber-attacks and protect U.S. national security.”

The data was allegedly provided to Georgia Tech by Rodney Joffe, senior vice president of Neustar (and identified as “Tech Executive-1” in the indictment.)

“A federal agency selected Georgia Tech and its researchers to work on some highly sensitive, extremely sophisticated computer systems research because of the school’s and its researchers’ world class reputations in this field and their high degree of integrity,” a Georgia Tech spokesperson told The College Fix in an emailed statement. “The research was very much about securing the United States of America, its systems of governance and its people.”

The Georgia Tech researchers, provided early access to the data, allegedly began using it to draw links between the Russians — even though Antonakakis and Dagon appeared skeptical of what they actually found. . . .

“The only thing that drives us at this point is that we just do not like [Trump],” Antonakakis added. “This will not fly in eyes of public scrutiny. Folks, I am afraid we have tunnel vision. Time to regroup?”

Nonetheless, the researchers allegedly began drafting a “white paper” using the allegations, which Sussman later presented to the FBI. During this drafting period, Sussman allegedly billed the Clinton campaign for his time.

A Federal Appellate Court has just busted your scene, folks. Your play against the working Middle Class of America, demanding every firm of >= 100 employees have mandatory vaccination, is scuttling. How long before a federal appellate court does the same for the DoD? If the 5th Circuit Appellate Court is already stepping in, that is one step from SCOTUS….

In any case, this development is devastating to your plan. This problem that has emerged is not going to go away. It is a federal appellate court. The wall is crumbling in too many places. One court stopped mandatory vaccines for various police and fir, another stopped it for state workers, now the 5th Circuit Appellate Court has stopped it from going into place for corporate America…

Message to Patriots: I hope you good folk see that in the depths of this battle, we have broken their momentum. All is not hopeless, as it appeared to many just a few months ago. Being Irish, I will resort to the analogy of a bar fight.:

They did not expect to have a fight. They caught us off-guard and glassed us, and we went down. They thought we were finished, or that this would be over by putting the boot in (as we used to say in rugby). This was all supposed to be a fait accompli, and normalized by April. By the time Covid-fall came around, there would have been no resistance to medical tyranny which, once accepted, would surely have mutated into simple tyranny.

Instead, we got off the floor before they finished us, and staggered about a bit as we cleared our head. But by May they had to face the fact that we were not going down, and they moved in to finish us off. But we got enough going against the Goons that they had to start dealing with it, and that it bought us some time. Now we are landing body blows (the Maricopa Audit results, a wave of lawfare such as has never been created, and numerous pro-freedom anti-mandate decisions, of which this court opinion is just the most recent example). They have certainly learned that they are in a fight. And now key elements of their plan are being defeated.

You know what that means? It means that you should not go violent. We are just starting to win, but anyone MAGA going violent is the surest way we will lose.

Why are we, “starting to win”? Things are finally going well for us. Well, not “well”, because the situation is a disaster for our country, but at least people listen to our point of view these days.

All year I have been envisioning what in chess is called a, “pawn advance”. When one is playing a stronger, more powerful player (which is usually the case when I play someone), there is a strategy one can adopt, the pawn advance. When able, one advances ones lowliest pawns, often on on side of the table (e.g., that to which the opponent has castled). Like Rick Grimes (protagonist of The Walking Dead) being swarmed by zombies who are individually limited but whose clumsy swarming can still trap Rick in a bind, the stronger opponent often underestimates the power of the pawns advancing his way, because they are, after all, the lowliest pieces. So one gets away with a little more than one should…

….until suddenly the rhythm of the game flips against the stronger player. The strong and impressive pieces he deployed into battle begin to be entangled by those zombie-pawns. His plans take a pause. They eat your opponent’s attack pieces or front line troops. He adjusts to that but his original attack vector is thwarted. Another zombie sacrifice, another plan… and before he knows his own plans are getting overwhelmed.

It is a lovely strategy against a stronger player.

Whoever is behind this soft-coup wishes to uses Medical Tyranny as a Trojan Horse for Tyranny. It would be too-obvious except for the fact that they have Information Dominance. Because, after all, can’t we all accept the idea of setting aside our rights a bit in matters of public health and public fire? But once imposed, vaccine passports will lead to social credit scores, and worse. Far worse.

In other words, Medical Tyranny is the Gateway Tyranny in their plan to take America.

Thanks to the work of a grassroots movement known as “Tore Says”, there are now 50 state Supreme Courts wrestling with the constitutionality of vaccine mandates under their states’ constitutions. A few dozen federal district courts are now dealing with cases filed by parents of children forced to wear masks in school. Dr. Simone Gold has her cases against the DoD having vaccine mandates. It is really crumbling on them….

…unless anyone on our side goes violent. Look at January 6: we would have won January 6, if people had not participated in that mishigas on Capitol Hill. There were a dozen Senators ready to stand up and demand a week of further hearings (which is all it would have taken). Then people entered the building. And that strategy, which was our last shot, collapsed.

So don’t do it to us again, and don’t let anyone gull you into doing it again. Instead, hold tight. Six months ago I did tell you that there was a Resistance forming, a legal, peaceful Resistance. Look at where we are now. I know they are bringing it to you folks in every way, but look at the progress we are getting. Maricopa has kicked off everything you would want it to kick off, both in Arizona and in many other counties and states. The Mesa, Colorado forensic analysis has come back, and it shows massive felonious activity (mind-blowing audacity, this “Trusted Build” program).

Things are cracking for them on Election Fraud, and cracking for them on Medical Tyranny.

If you do not want to get the vaccine, this would be the time to stand your ground. Because if you are against taking it, you are going to feel badly if you do, then before the late November deadline for this category of person and early December deadline for another category and early January for many non-DOD federal workers….the mandates get blocked. Say, by the 5th Circuit Appellate. Yes, it is only temporary while they study it, but the way these things run, this is not going to be settled until it is studied by SCOTUS. And until then you will be safe from the clot-shot.

So I’m not telling you not to get the vaccine, but I am telling you that if are against taking it, now would be the time to stand your ground just a little longer.

Just do not by violent. Because it won’t help and will hurt. In Another 17 nights and a wake-up, a case is going to be filed in SCOTUS by some people who are done fucking around (since I already blew my G Rating on this blog). The DHS are the federal Stasi. I do not know where things stand with them, but I do know that they recently had departures in key roles (“Second senior official resigns from DHS – leaving to ‘spend more time with his family‘” – HotAir, September 15, 2021) and I understand there are serious reservations, even within command, about the wisdom of preceding with more of this tyranny plan.

Their Instruments of Power are getting the proverbial soft-off at just the wrong time (sorry to be so scatological about it, but it’s just too perfect).

We are not going to fight them, we are going to mock them.

Be prepared for some rallies coming up, some opportunities to peacably assemble. Pencil in Wednesday, November 24 (the day before Thanksgiving). For now, just pencil it in as “Let’s Go Brandon!” rally, though we will give it a real purpose before then. And also, keep some time open in your Holliday schedule this December for some opportunities to (perhaps between runs swinging by the amply-stocked malls for your Christmas shopping) you might swing past another spot in your area and express your support for freedom versus tyranny.

An Iowa student asked Turncoat Vice President Mike Pence why he “bucked Trump” and went ahead and certified the clearly fraudulent election results on January 6th.

Pence did this while President Trump was speaking to over a million supporters at the Ellipse in Washington DC.  The people knew the election was stolen on Jan. 6th.  And today a majority of American voters still believe Democrats cheated to in in 2020.

On Thursday night an Iowa student asked Mike Pence for the name of the person who told him to buck Trump and certify the 2020 election results.

Mortenson, senior scholar at the Pell Institute for the Study of Opportunity in Higher Education in Washington, D.C. and independent higher education policy analyst, put together and published the 100+ item list “For Every 100 Girls….” on Education Week. In an email, Tom explained to me that “At the time I initially wrote it I was hearing and reading that boys were no different than girls, and the data I was looking at said something very different. Our differences are important, to both genders, and should be respected. The Discovery of Ivermectin

The story of Ivermectin began in 1973 with the discovery of the unique and unusual soil-dwelling microorganism that produces the avermectins (from which Ivermectin is derived). Isolated in Japan by Satoshi Ōmura, the sample was sent to Merck laboratories, where, in 1975, it was found to produce a potent anthelmintic (parasite destroying) substance. The “more effective” Ivermectin—a purified, chemically modified bioactive agent of avermectin—was confirmed powerful in human health in 1987. As time passed, Ivermectin, which won a Nobel prize in 2015, was introduced to treat other human conditions, leading many experts to label it a “wonder” drug. 

Without a doubt, very few drugs have been granted the title of “wonder drug” by the scientific community. According to a 2011 study published by the National Institutes of Health (NIH) titled “Ivermectin, ‘Wonder drug’ from Japan: the human use perspective,” penicillin and aspirin are two drugs that can earnestly lay claim to that distinction, as can Ivermectin.

Highlights of Ivermectin’s Journey to EML Status

In 1974, thirteen years before Ivermectin was approved for use as a human “wonder drug,” four United Nations agencies, including the World Bank, launched the Onchocerciasis Control Programme in West Africa (OCP). The program covered 1.2 million square kilometers and protected 30 million people in eleven countries from Onchocerciasis, also known as River Blindness, by using helicopters and planes to spray insecticides over the breeding sites of vector black flies whose bite transmits the parasite that causes the disease.

In 1987, following the registration of Ivermectin for human use, Merck immediately donated the drug (under the brand name Mectizan®) to the OCP to administer in poverty-stricken populations around the world to effectively tackle “neglected tropical diseases,” including River Blindness. Interestingly, until the FDA’s 2018 approval of moxidectin, a single annual dose of Ivermectin given orally was the only tool used to eliminate the disease in that part of the world.

Ivermectin Repeatedly Proven to be Safe

When researchers began investigating Ivermectin as a potential drug for use in humans, they were aware of its ability to bind to specific chloride channels on nerves and muscle cells in the nervous systems of worms and insects, paralyzing the creatures exposed to it. Humans have chloride channels too, but only in our brains and spinal columns. Since Ivermectin can’t cross the blood-brain barrier in mammals, humans are spared the paralyzing effects. As outlined in the 2011 NIH study, “this discovery opened up a completely new spectrum of possibilities for the drug’s use in humans.”

With decades of constant monotherapy in humans, Ivermectin has continually proved to be an astonishingly safe drug treatment. The 2011 NIH research states, “Ivermectin is being increasingly used worldwide to combat other diseases in humans,” adding, “and new and promising properties and uses for Ivermectin are continuing to be found.” Indeed, a March 2016 PubMed article titled “Over 25 Years of Clinical Experience With Ivermectin: An Overview of Safety for an Increasing Number of Indications” echoed that sentiment, declaring:

“After more than 25 years of use, Ivermectin continues to provide a high margin of safety for a growing number of indications based on its anti-parasitic and anti-inflammatory activities.”

Highlighting its endless possibilities, a February 15, 2017, review article published in The Journal of Antibiotics titled “Ivermectin: enigmatic multifaceted “wonder” drug continues to surprise and exceed expectations,” details the different disease-fighting potential that has been identified for Ivermectin, including in the treatment of asthma. The research explains that a study in mice discovered that “Ivermectin significantly curtailed recruitment of immune cells, production of cytokines in the bronchoalveolar lavage fluids and secretion of ovalbumin-specific IgE and IgG1 [antibodies] in the serum. Ivermectin also suppressed mucus hypersecretion by goblet cells, establishing that Ivermectin can effectively curb inflammation, such that it may be useful in treating allergic asthma and other inflammatory airway diseases.“

Early in the pandemic, the probability of Ivermectin being a viable treatment against SARS-CoV-2 was encouraging. Medical experts like Dr. Pierre Kory have repeatedly spoken about the benefits of Ivermectin in treating COVID-19.  A June 12, 2020 article in Nature titled “Ivermectin: a systematic review from antiviral effects to COVID-19 complementary regimen” points out that Ivermectin is a broad-spectrum drug with high lipid solubility, anti-cancer, and antiviral effects. The study—the first to assess the antiviral effects of Ivermectin on COVID-19—notes that Ivermectin causes immunomodulation in the host. In other words, studies have shown it stimulates the immune system by inhibiting the proliferation of cancer cells. The article reports:

“In a recent in vitro study, the Vero/hSLAM cells infected with the SARS-CoV-2 or COVID-19 virus were exposed to 5 µM Ivermectin in 48 h, and a 5000-fold reduction in viral RNA compared with control was found [15]. The results showed that treatment with Ivermectin effectively kills almost all viral particles within 48 h.”

When you see supposedly independent medical advisors to government tell what are manifest untruths to shore up a political regime whose credibility is rapidly collapsing, you have to say that those advisors have lost their integrity and our trust.

Ivermectin Docks to the SARS-CoV-2 Spike Protein

Despite being a “wonder drug,” with untapped potential, Ivermectin has been largely discounted for treating COVID-19. Indeed, the over 80 clinical trials focused on Ivermectin are rarely discussed. Instead, Joe Biden and the U.S. government’s focus is on pushing vaccines. To quickly review, the three emergency use authorization (EUA) “vaccines” promoted to treat COVID-19 center around instructing the body to make spike proteins—an important and recognizable part of the SARS-CoV-2 virus. The two CDC-funded mRNA “vaccines” (Pfizer and Moderna) use messenger RNA to instruct cells to make the COVID-19 spike proteins. The assumption is that the body’s immune system will then make antibodies to fight COVID-19 and protect those injected with the jabs from getting sick. The Johnson & Johnson “vaccine,” like the two others, also instructs cells to make COVID-19 spike proteins, delivering the instructions via an adenovirus. 

Considering ACE2 opens the doorway for spike proteins of the SARS-CoV-2 virus to hook into (bind with) ACE2 and can then infect cells in the body, an effective treatment to stop that potentially deadly process from occurring seems critical. Interestingly, several studies—including a September 3, 2020, In Vivo research paper published by the NIH titled “Ivermectin Docks to the SARS-CoV-2 Spike Receptor-binding Domain Attached to ACE2″—have demonstrated that Ivermectin binds with the SARS-CoV-2 spike proteins joined with ACE2 and appeared to interfere with the attachment of the spike to the human cell membrane.

In addition, Ivermectin, which has been heavily studied by Dr. Vladimir Zelenko, may have antiviral effects against COVID-19 by inhibiting the importin (IMP) α/β receptor, which is responsible for transmitting viral proteins into the host cell nucleus. Viruses often hijack IMP to wreak more havoc in the body. A January 19, 2021 study published in The Lancet (which many believe has lost credibility during the pandemic) states, “Ivermectin inhibits importins of the α/β family… it is possible that the inhibition of importins may thus contribute the immune regulatory effect of Ivermectin and its influence of other vitamin D-mediated pathways.” 

Also of significant interest—when considering the declaration by many experts that graphene oxide is a “proprietary ingredient” in mRNA vaccines—is an August 5, 2021, Science Direct study titled “Ivermectin detection using Ag@ B. S co-doped reduced graphene oxide nanohybrid.” Curiously, many wonder what are the ramifications for the “vaccines” if Ivermectin can reduce the effects of graphene oxide? In the image below, Dr. Robert O. Young explains Figure 1 represents “what a cluster bomb of reduced graphene oxide (rGO) looks like in the live, unstained blood from the so-called Pfizer, Moderna, AstraZeneca, and Janssen “vaccines”!”

“Insufficient Evidence” On Efficacy of Ivermectin against COVID is a Lie

Almost a year ago, many people had never heard of Ivermectin for the treatment and prevention of COVID-19. Even today, with the well-documented, peer-reviewed, and overwhelmingly positive expert recommendations for using Ivermectin in COVID-19, the drug is repeatedly ignored. Instead, government health agencies and the Biden Administration scream the need for randomized, controlled trials (RCTs) to monitor the safety of Ivermectin—a process the drug went through for humans years ago while under patent with Merck. 

Unlike the clinical trial currently underway for the nearly 7 billion people worldwide who’ve received COVID-19 vaccines—where safety and efficacy were unknown before the pandemic—Ivermectin has been proven safe in humans for decades. Even better, the “wonder drug” has shown remarkable promise in stopping SARS-CoV-2 in its tracks. 

Along with snubbing esteemed experts on handling the pandemic and ignoring the power of natural immunity in unvaccinated individuals after recovering from COVID-19, the blatant disregard for Ivermectin and other therapeutics by “experts” in the public domain is incredibly reckless. Tasked with making unprecedented decisions for the American people and, to a more significant extent, all of humanity, these Big Pharma shills, media oligarchs, Big Tech monsters, and government characters have—as they fail miserably—exposed their true agenda. And individuals around the globe are paying attention.

Dr. Shiva: So, yes, one of the questions is, we have 6,545 More ballots than the envelopes. Okay, remember this election was last, lost/won at around 10,500 votes. So 6500 is, you know it’s not a small number, that’s the first thing. The other thing we want to emphasize is, we found 2,580 You know, scribbles about 1,919 blanks, again we didn’t do in detail. Remember we were only looking at the signature region. Okay, now we just did a very simple signature presence detection. Okay, we didn’t have the opportunity to compare all the signature to signature analysis, which is what we believe should be done. Our guesstimate on that would be that would be north of, you know 50,000. We would think we would find significant differences. That’s just from a guesstimate of doing some statistical analysis but we haven’t had the chance to do that. Okay. But the point is that you have 6,500 plus ballots which don’t have envelopes, very important. We have examples again This wasn’t part of our audit scope we did this on our own, we at least have, you know 20 some odd people who have two Voter IDs. Same person with two Voter IDs, both the votes were counted.

Okay. So, if we have a chance to expand our analysis we may find more. But the point is that the image processing that’s done, when they do the curing, you see what I’m saying. The curing is hundreds of thousands of votes that were cured, which means do the signatures match? They contacted people, Right. To find out why they didn’t match. That process, in our view is very very squishy because we don’t understand it. So imagine out of the 1.9 million votes. They said 587 didn’t match but they cured a number. From our guesstimate from looking at it, looks like it was maybe about 100 to 200,000.

So that means 100 to 200,000 in that range or less, phone calls went out to call people to say “Hey, your signatures don’t match,” you following me? Now, how is that process done, how is that adjudicated, right? because there’s a lot of room for play there. And that is why we need these processes. So, especially in a race which was lost by 10,500 votes. Okay, or won by 10,500 odd votes. So it is very important for people on the right to feel comfortable with how the left treated them or the left to feel how the right treated them to just articulate these processes, put it out, so we can all understand it, and move forward. But without that transparency, we’re going to have a Divided States of America.

Dr. Shiva only demands transparency on elections procedures and it is just strange that Maricopa County will not prove to us that they followed the procedures and laws.

Arizona State Senator Wendy Rogers is ready to go scorched earth on Arizona Attorney General Mark Brnovich.

By progress, she meant a full criminal investigation including immediate indictments and arrests.

Eric Coomer is the former Director of Security and Product Strategy for Dominion Voting Systems. After the 2020 election debacle, where votes in at least five states had very suspicious results while running Dominion computer systems, center-right journalists made common-sense observations that the results appeared rigged. One journalist, who had infiltrated a conference call filled with Antifa-sympathizing callers, remembered that on the call “Eric from Dominion” was going to ensure that Trump did not win re-election.

The mainstream media has spent a year bullying and suppressing the thousands of eyewitnesses, filed affidavits, investigations and proceedings meant to uncover the big fraud. 

Instead, they call all speculation as to what caused sleepy Joe Biden to make magical 2 a.m. leaps of hundreds of thousands of votes, propelling him to victory, the “big lie.”

Even internal Dominion whistleblowers, courageous people like Michigan’s Mellissa Carone, have come forward to document the election day suspicious actions and operations of Dominion. 

Eric Coomer decided to sue 15 organizations and people for defamation in his home state of Colorado. He claims to have been defamed by center-right journalists allegedly saying he was tied to Antifa, and that he helped rig the election against Trump.

Coomer is the Plaintiff, and a variety of center-right media outlets, including the Gateway Pundit and separately Gateway Pundit Publisher Jim Hoft, are Defendants. 

Coomer’s limited deposition was taken on September 23, 2021, and the court acted on its own to seal the deposition without a hearing. The court dramatically limited the subject matter and scope of the duration of the deposition compared to the Defendant’s depositions. This was odd since no other deposition in the case was similarly sealed by the Court letting the left write stories about those depositions, and no party had asked for Coomer’s deposition to be sealed. Primarily, the deposition verified many of the claims found in this fawning New York Times profile of Coomer.

The deposition reveals Coomer’s penchant for lying: such as when he authored an OpEd in the Denver Post misleading the public in stating that he did not have any social media accounts, and that any Facebook circulating throughout the public were “fabricated,” pretending to be him, but not authored by him. 

“I want to be very clear: I have no connection to the Antifa movement, I did not “rig,” or influence the election, nor have I participated in any calls, demonstrations, or other demonstrable activity related to any political party or social justice/action group.

…

Additionally, any posts on social media channels purporting to be from me have also been fabricated. I do not have a Twitter account and my Facebook account is not active. These individuals are impersonating me.”

HOWEVER, in the deposition, he finally ADMITS that he was the author of those Facebook messages all along.  He had been LYING this entire time. 

Most importantly, Defendant Sidney Powell’s lawyer Barry Arrington was able to pin down Dominion’s Coomer and get him to admit that he had, indeed, written the following Facebook messages prior to the 2020 Presidential election:

“If you are planning to vote for that autocratic, narcissistic fascist asshat blowhard and his Christian jihadist VP pic, UNFRIEND ME NOW!”

“Only an absolute F—-ING IDIOT could ever vote for that wind-bag, f—tard FASCIST RACIST F—! No bull—-, I don’t give a damn if you’re a friend, family or random acquaintance, pull the level, mark an oval, touch a screen for that carnival barker… UNFRIEND ME NOW.”

Coomer then qualified his long-rant against Trump by saying this about Dominion:

“…these opinions are rational, and completely my own. They are based in reason and highly credible. Though they are not necessarily the thoughts of my employer, though if not, I should probably find another job… Who wants to work for completely morons?”

 So, by virtue of the fact that Coomer continued working at Dominion, it seems safe to say that Dominion generally shared Coomer’s extreme anti-Trump beliefs. 

After the Facebook Posts began circulating throughout the internet, Coomer deleted at least 80 of his posts, later telling colleagues that he ‘screwed up.’ When asked to clarify what that meant, why he would think he ‘screwed up’, he hedged and dodged and tap-danced to avoid the obvious answer: because he was the head of Product Strategy and Security for voting systems in 28 presidential election states in 2020, including every swing state, and yet was publicly posting vicious anti-Trump screeds, including the nastiest comments possible against Trump voters whom he called fascists.

Coomer said of Trump voters, prior to the election, “you deserve nothing but contempt” and they were “absolute F—ing idiots.”

Dr. Shiva Ayyadurai’s EchoMail 180-page presentation for the Arizona Senate Republicans’ forensic audit on Sept. 24 shows a 25-percent surge in duplicate early voting ballot return envelopes (EVBREs) between Nov. 4 and Nov. 6 in the 2020 Maricopa County Presidential Election. His report also showed 34,448 EVBRE’s “originating from 17,126 unique voters.” The duplicates Shiva found were additional to those found in the Cyber Ninjas report. Maricopa County never showed how many ballot envelopes they received. The County only showed how many early votes they counted. Shiva did not compare the signatures they examined with the voter registration signatures because the voter registration rolls were never made available to the audit team. However, reportedly, if a signature can’t be matched, the County contacts the voter.

Below is the summary of Shiva’s findings as compared with the first Maricopa audit. Maricopa reported 6,545 more unique EVBs than Shiva’s team while they reported no duplicate ballots.

Duplicates Surge After The Election

The increase in duplicate EVBs is shown in the graph below in the last six days of the counting, which ended on Nov. 9. No duplicates were reported in the Maricopa County canvass that Dr. Shiva used as a basis for his investigation. The blue line indicates the EVBRE’s received throughout the election. The red line represents blank signatures, and the green line represents scribbles.

The second graph below shows all the EVBREs, and the duplicates received in the same graph. “For two days, on 11/7/2020 and 11/9/2020,” said Shiva, “Over 96% of the daily EVBRE are duplicates. On the days of 11/5/2020, 11/7/2020, and 11/9/2020, the daily duplicates percentage is nine to ten times more than the highest daily duplicate percentage recorded on 10/19/2020.” He also notes anomalies on 10/16/2020, 10/26/2020, and 11/2/2020.

Various Findings Concerning the Duplicates

Developed by Dr. Shiva Ayyadurai, EchoMail is an automatic classification and pattern recognition program to help identify and organize documents. He developed the program to “automatically analyze and classify President Clinton’s emails.” He used the same process to more confidently verify what counts as a voter’s signature on a Maricopa County ballot.

Dr. Shiva analyzed data contained in the signature box on the EVBs at a very granular level, categorizing them by signature, blank, likely blank, and scribble. It is unknown how the County defined the signatures it examined.

Shiva explained EVBRE “is the protective vehicle by which the early voting ballot (EVB) is transported and processed. The authentication/verification of the signature on the EVB return envelope is critical to the reliability of the process.” Shiva maintains that it is difficult to ascertain proper verification of a vote if one cannot reliably check signatures to ensure a person’s ballot equates to the same person’s vote.

Shiva classified the duplicates as 2, 3, and 4 copy duplicates. Oddly, many duplicate blanks were verified, stamped, and approved by the County. Some were stamped and approved in the signature box region of the EVBs. There were also EVBs with the same name, address, signature, and phone number with two different voter IDs. The County confirmed that voters should not share voter IDs.

There were discrepancies between Shiva’s numbers and those shown by the Maricopa County canvass. Shiva stated the bad signature and the no signature EVBs were surprisingly low in number compared to those reported in 2016. Shiva found over four times more bad signatures (scribbles) than Maricopa County found.

To put the bad signature anomaly into perspective, it means there was allegedly only one bad signature for every 3,268 EVBs in the County’s election. The graph below shows the proportions of that perspective:

The inverse relationship between bad signatures and total EVBs, comparing the 2016 and 2020 elections, is shown in a table from the Maricopa County Recorder’s office below.  There are more ballots, fewer bad signatures, and blanks for 2020. Fewer ballots, more bad signatures, and blanks for 2016. One would expect that with more people voting, the errors would increase, for example.

Maricopa County’s explanation for scribbles is that some voters cannot fully sign their names on the EVBRE, so the County visually approves the signatures.

Special bipartisan election boards assist voters who may need assistance w/ signing affidavits. Often, in case of severe medical conditions such as stroke, people may only be able to make a small mark such as an X. Our boards visually affirm the marks are the voter's correct sig.

Shiva also noted some odd patterns in the illegible signatures when he compared the signature submissions before the election with the ones after. There was a 3% to 97% increased illegibility rate of signatures four days after the election. Four weeks prior to the election, the inverse was true.

Dr. Shiva concluded his report with many unanswered questions, some of which are pictured in the screenshot below:

As Senate President Karen Fann explained in her press conference after the audit report presentations, many questions may have been in service of the final reports by Maricopa County had they cooperated with the auditors. They resisted the auditors at every turn.

“We were doing an audit to the best of our abilities, and can you imagine if you were an auditor and you went in to audit one of our agencies or a big corporation, and they said we’re only gonna let you see these books over here, we’re not gonna let you see them over here. So, an auditor can only do the audit on what they’re available to see. And, of course, that audit is going to have a disclaimer on it that says, ‘I did this to the best of my ability. It doesn’t answer all the questions, but I can tell you what this leads me to, and I can tell you some suggestions about what it may or may not be. But it needs further investigation. That’s the best we can do’.”

Introduced by Pennsylvania State Representative Seth Grove and Republican colleagues, PA HB1800 is a bill that makes broad changes to election law in the state. Grove says the ‘Pennsylvania Voting Rights Protection Act’ brings “increased security and modernization,” while critics have called it a “partisan attack on the right to vote.”

HB1800 amends the Pennsylvania Election Code to establish a ‘Bureau of Election Audits’ to conduct “risk-limiting” audits that are “statistically sound,” audit election machine logs, and post the results online. The Bureau would also have the latitude to conduct “any other audit deemed necessary.” The Department of State would be able to develop a “corrective action plan” based on the resulting report.

The bill further defines duties and powers of the Secretary of the Commonwealth to include receiving all private donations for election administration or voter education. Those funds would be distributed across the state based on the census results after approval by the Election Law Advisory Board. The Secretary must also “create and maintain a tracking system” for mail-in or absentee ballots from start to finish while maintaining counts of all types, both sent, received, and counted.

HB1800 gives the Secretary authority to “examine and reexamine voting machines.” It mandates they be auditable and open source—but only those purchased after 2024. It requires the use of the Electronic Registration Information Center (ERIC) and the National Change of Address (NCOA) database to cross-check voter rolls.

A ‘Voter’s Bill of Rights’ is established by the bill, which states that:

“Each registered voter in [the] Commonwealth shall have the right to:

(1) Vote and have his or her vote accurately counted.
(2) Cast a vote if he or she is in line at the time of the closing of polls.
(3) Ask for and receive assistance in voting.
(4) Receive up to two replacement ballots if he or she makes a mistake prior to the ballot being cast.
(5) Receive an explanation if his or her registration or identity is in question.
(6) Cast a provisional ballot if his or her registration or identity is in question.
(7) Receive written instructions to use when voting and, upon request, oral instructions from elections officers to use when voting.
(8) Vote free from coercion or intimidation by elections officers or any other person.
(9) Vote on a voting system that is in working condition and that will allow votes to be accurately cast and accurately counted.
(10) Any other rights as provided by Federal, State or local law.”

Elderly and disabled voters are additionally allowed to the front of the line at the polling place.

Changes to the duties and pay of election workers, the implementation and appointment of county elections boards, and the policy and procedure related to absentee, provisional, and early voting ballots are among the many subjects of this 183-page bill.

ATVPA has also criticized Senate Bill 552 as well as Senator Chris Dush, who introduced it. Along with Dush, the bill was introduced by fellow Republican Senators Wayne Langerholc and Michele Brooks in April; it passed and was sent to the house for consideration on Sept. 22. It is a proposed modification of Pennsylvania’s ‘Right-to-know’ law, which is the state’s version of the Freedom of Information (FOIA) laws that aim to ensure that the public has access to government records and documentation. The change would allow agencies an exception from releasing records when they successfully petition that the request amounts to an “unreasonable burden” or is “intended to harass” or is otherwise received from a “vexatious requester.”

Chris Dush is the man who has taken over efforts into auditing the General election of 2020 after Senate President Pro Tempore Jake Corman’s surprising ousting of Senator Doug Mastriano. Mastriano previously had sent subpoenas to three populous counties for what would be needed to conduct a full forensic audit.

ATVPA pointed out that Dush has put up a website at PAElectionInvestigation.com, where Pennsylvanians can submit testimony for sworn affidavits that could lead to testimony at a future hearing. The site hosts the subpoena the Senate Intergovernmental Operations Committee has approved to be sent to the PA Department of State for a set of materials much more limited in scope to what was requested under Mastriano.

Mastriano and Dush attended the Maricopa, Arizona audit together and toured with Cyber Ninjas CEO Doug Logan. Dush is a Master Sargeant in the U.S. Air Force with a background as Chief of Information Protection for Pennsylvania’s Air National Guard. He said of Maricopa that he’s “never seen anything quite like it.”

Under a Q&A section on Dush’s site, the question “Will you do the same type of audit as Arizona?” is addressed with the answer:

“Although we have learned valuable lessons from Arizona, the process will differ in many ways. As soon as a vendor is identified, we will work with them to determine best practices and allow the investigation to follow wherever the evidence leads.“

To which ATVPA responded:

“That’s a really weird way of saying you aren’t doing a full forensic investigation.”

The Arizona State Senate must produce public records related to the Maricopa County forensic audit per a ruling by the Arizona Supreme Court on Tuesday. The court supported previous lower court decisions to produce records requested in a May lawsuit brought by American Oversight, as reported by UncoverDC.

However, the AZ Senate has yet to receive the passwords, hardware keys, and routers now ordered to be produced by Maricopa County as requested by Arizona’s Attorney General, Mark Brnovich. The penalty for not handing over the materials could cost the county $700 million in state-shared tax revenue. Brnovich gave Maricopa County 30 days—the 27th of September—to comply.

On August 22, Judge Kemp granted an extension to allow the court to consider the stay pleadings from the Senate with a deadline of Aug. 31 for all Amicus Briefs and a court conference on the matter on Sept. 14.

Tuesday, Judge Kemp dissolved the petition for stay and ordered all records be released.  Senate President Karen Fann sent a letter Tuesday requesting records from the audit team, Cyber Ninjas.

Senate President Karen Fann has argued that the records should not be released because they are the property of private contractors. On August 2, Superior Court Judge Michael Kemp ordered to deliver all materials related to the audit. Per the order, he requested:

“All documents and communications related to the planning and execution of the audit, all policies and procedures being used by the agents of the Senate Defendants and all records disclosing specifically who is paying for and financing this legislative activity as well as precisely how much is being paid are subject to the PRL.”

The Arizona Mirror reported the following statement from Fann, who is now deciding the best course of action for making the records available:

“What concerns me more is the fact that this ruling could open up a whole new precedent of two private companies having to divulge private communications to anyone that asks under a (public records) request,” Fann said, echoing concerns that her attorneys made in court that a ruling in American Oversight’s favor could require private companies that do business with the government to turn over confidential information.

Fann has already released many documents related to the audit, including emails and text messages from the Senate liaisons and senators to the audit team. Some have been newly added as of Wednesday.

One of the American Oversight website documents contains a PDF with 4,308 pages of emails, correspondence, and documents related to the audit, the election, and other Arizona affairs.

These pages include discussion of election legislation, correspondence from the state Republican Caucus, The Arizona Legislative Report, news clippings, many issues of the Blue Wave Newsletter (a newsletter from the Senate Democrats), and hundreds of issues of the Yellow Sheet Report whose “about section” states:

“Our reporters are embedded inside the halls and backrooms of government to bring subscribers behind-the-scenes scoops and unparalleled access to what policymakers are saying, along with detailed political analysis and breaking news stories. Besides our beloved ‘News, Notes and Gossip’ section, each daily edition includes full reprints of relevant documents, press releases and a roundup of local and national news our readers need to know.”

So far, there are 11 FOIA requests, all requesting the same information, on the American Oversight website related to the lawsuit. A Sept. 3 statement on the website says:

“American Oversight has published nearly 75,000 of the more than 80,000 pages released on Tuesday by the Arizona Senate in response to our lawsuit for records from the partisan ‘audit’ of Maricopa County’s election results.”

The website also published privileged record logs received on Aug. 31 related to the audit. The logs allegedly contain emails between senate liaisons Ken Bennett and Randy Pullen, and Shiva Ayyadurai, as well as other emails between legislators and the auditors.

An American Oversight news release from its Executive Director Austin Evers on Kemp’s order states the following:

“Arizona law does not allow public servants to outsource democracy and shroud their conduct in secrecy. The Arizona Senate’s legal maneuvering to conceal these records from the public matches the outrageousness of their so-called audit. That ends today. Arizonans can look forward to much-needed transparency, even if it may reveal gross attacks on democracy itself.”

The state senate is now reviewing the Arizona audit report. On her Telegram channel this week, Arizona Senator Wendy Rogers reassured her followers that the audit report is on its way, acknowledging the frustration of many Americans over the delay.

OAN’s Christina Bobb interviewed Arizona Senator Sonny Borelli on Sept. 11. He commented on Liz Harris’ independently-run canvass and the upcoming senate report:

“There are up to four separate volumes of this report,” said Borelli. “So we need to make sure it is accurate, 100 percent bullet-proof so that nothing gets challenged. And there are some other things we are waiting on from the county. They have complied a little bit but, for the most part, they have not complied. For example, we still need the passwords, the hardware tokens and the routers.”

Borelli said the report will be out “sometime this month” because he knows “everyone is getting impatient.” He added that “everything will be made public in a Senate Judiciary hearing and when the senate panel is hearing it, it will be for the very first time. This report will still be inconclusive” because there are “things from the machines” and “stuff hangin’ out in the county that the county is not responding with.”

A story published by American Oversight the day before the court order entitled “From Voter Fraud Myths to Election Audits: The Evolution of the Big Lie” is a pretty strong indicator of the organization’s position on the audit. A statement from the article reads:

“Trump and his supporters turned up their efforts to undermine confidence in the results, with a particular focus on the states where Biden would score his closest wins: Arizona, Georgia, Michigan, Pennslyvania, Wisconsin, and Nevada.”

The website hosts many stories on the audits and investigations of the 2020 election.

According to the World Health Organization, in January of 2020, more than 264 million people were diagnosed with depression and is the leading cause of disability worldwide.^[1] In this article, I will answer the question: why am I depressed if my life is fine?” I will discuss what depression is and what the possible causes of depression are. Additionally, I will offer some solutions to consider as you navigate the depression you are experiencing.

The question of why you are depressed if your life is fine is one that I can personally identify with, as I can remember a time when I went through an intense depression even though, in many ways, my life couldn’t have been much better. I was financially secure, had a good family, lived in a beautiful place, had a pretty adventurous and exciting life, but none of that could have prevented a serious and prolonged battle with depression.

Given that you are here reading this article now, you will hopefully be able to identify the problem early and get the support you need to fend off any significant depressive episodes, as this can make a huge difference in your battle with depression.

Furthermore, you don’t have to live with depression! Despite the debilitating effects of depression, with the right treatment and support, it is also one of the more “curable” mental health disorders and you can overcome it.

What Is Depression?

Depression is a mood disorder characterized by feelings of sadness, guilt, worthlessness, hopelessness, irritability, and in the worst cases, despair and suicidality.

Depression from a clinical perspective is classified into a few distinctive categories, two of the more common categories are; major depression and dysthymia. According to the DSM 5, Diagnostic and Statistical Manual—which governs the diagnosis of psychiatric and mental health disorders—major depression is classified as experiencing five or more symptoms in the same two-week period and must include a loss in pleasure as well as a depressed mood most of the day, nearly every day.^[2]

The criteria are:

• Loss of pleasure or joy
• Intense feelings of sadness and depressed mood most of the day, almost every day
• Difficulty sleeping or disturbed sleep
• Change in appetite (increased or decreased appetite) and a 5% change in body weight
• Difficulty focusing, poor concentration
• Psychomotor agitation or slowing down
• Excessive fatigue
• Feelings of worthlessness or guilt
• Persistent thoughts of death, dying, and suicide

Dysthymia is an ongoing or persistent depressed mood for a period of two years where you feel sadness more days than not. It will include at least two of the following symptoms when depressed:

• Poor appetite or overeating
• Insomnia or hypersomnia (having more sleep than usual)
• Low energy or fatigue
• Low self-esteem
• Poor concentration
• Feeling of hopelessness

The above symptoms of dysthymia can coincide with the symptoms of major depression.

Causes of Depression

Depression happens for several reasons that I categorize into three: biology, environment, and situation. Depression also tends to occur in more sensitive people, tend to overthink, and get stuck in their thoughts, which—more times than not—are negative.

Biological causes of depression are related to how your body produces neurotransmitters that impact your moods, such as serotonin, norepinephrine, and dopamine. Some people might have a biological predisposition for depression and never experience any significant symptoms but when confronted with a challenging life situation, such as a loss or disappointment, it can send them into a tailspin of despondency and intense feelings of low and sad mood.

Depression caused by one’s environment is more about those you might have grown up with, your family, and your home environment, which could also be connected to heredity. Regardless of your biological predisposition, you learn how to handle challenges in life by observing those around you.

Adults, in particular, are role models for children and will likely deal with life in similar ways as to what they observed. For example, a child who grows up witnessing partner abuse between their parents is at increased risk of either being a victim or perpetrator of violence in an intimate relationship as an adult.^[3]

Situational depression, as I mentioned above, can be seen as more of a cause-and-effect relationship. When you are confronted with a particular life challenge or change, such as job loss, geographic relocation, or family and financial stress, these situations can cause you to fall into a temporary or prolonged depression.

In some cases, depression can be a combination of all of the above.

Examples of Causes of Depression

Below are some examples of situations that might lead you to experience a prolonged period of depression.

Grief

The loss of a loved one, especially when sudden and traumatic, can bring about intense feelings of loss and sadness, which can lead to clinical depression. This includes the death of pets.

Medical Issue or Diagnosis

Being diagnosed with a medical issue, especially if chronic and progressive, is much like any other loss you might experience. It represents the loss of a life you had. Very often, there will need to be changes made in one’s life that will not allow for a lifestyle previously enjoyed.

A Feeling of Failure or Perceived Shortcomings

As I mentioned, people who experience depression tend to be sensitive and self-critical. You might be struggling with not getting a job promotion or failing to progress in the way you imagined for yourself, but this doesn’t mean that you are not progressing in some other way.

Sudden Life Change

Changes—even good changes and welcomed changes—are hard. Sometimes, these changes can have an impact on your role and status in society like marriage or parenthood, which are both wonderful changes yet fraught with many challenges and new social roles.

Feeling Trapped or With Limited Options

Having options is both a blessing and a curse. We know that the more options we have, the less happy we are and the more anxious we might tend to feel, wanting and needing to make the right decision. However, on the flip side, the idea that you don’t have any options can also lead to feeling trapped and feeling that your life circumstances are already written in stone.

Burnout

Job stress, being overworked and underpaid, or the lack of fulfillment in your profession can lead to depression, which might also coincide with the feeling of being trapped and feeling as though you don’t have many options in your life and career.

What Can You Do If You Experience Depression?

It may sometimes feel as though, out of nowhere, that you are hit with depression, and this is true for many people who have a biologically based depression. However, I would argue that whenever there is something like depression or anxiety—which are defense mechanisms—there is something in your life that is not 100% congruent with who you are and where your life is at or going.

This essentially means that it’s time to take a step back and reassess a few things in life. It doesn’t mean that you will be able to wright the ship entirely. However, you might be able to make some small changes that will help you feel more in control of your life and the direction that you are going in.

1. Consider Therapy

Therapy will help you take stock and think about what is happening in your life and where you might be able to make some changes. Needless to say, you will also have the support you need to embark on making those changes. It could also be a chance to identify what it is in your life that is causing the depression. A therapist can also help you connect to other supports that might help you as you work through this period in your life.

2. Group Support Network

Processing hurt and pain through the group experience is a powerful method of connecting with yourself and others who might be experiencing similar challenges. Part of the value of group experience is knowing that you are not alone and that you have support not just from professionals but also from other people just like you.

3. Self Assessment

Self-assessment involves assessing where you are in your life in relation to your life goals, your relationships, and the direction that you are headed. Maybe it is time to make a pivot and change course, which could be a very scary thing. Bringing this kind of information to therapy will be very valuable and will assist you in the therapeutic process.

4. Take Some Time Off

Taking some time off will be and can be helpful in many ways. If you are experiencing burnout, this will give you more time for self-care and help you give yourself a break. Moreover, taking a time off gives you more time to do some of the things I described above in therapy, group work, and self-assessment.

5. Are You Bored?

Sometimes, when we lack stimulation or work in a job for which we are overqualified, we might find ourselves feeling underutilized and as if we are not meeting our potential. This would, hopefully, come out in a self-assessment and could indicate the need to make a change in your work life.

Depression and Suicide

Depression is a serious mental health disorder. Thirty to seventy percent of deaths by suicide are attributed to major depression or bipolar disorder.^[4] If you or someone you love is experiencing depression and expresses thoughts or statements about death and suicide, consult with your medical professional or mental health counselor. People who receive treatment for depression have an 80 to 90% rate of success from therapy and/or medication.

Suffice to say, if you get the treatment you need for depression, your chances of recovering skyrocket. Again, as I mentioned earlier, you don’t have to live with depression. Get the right treatment,^[5] and you can have a whole new lease on life.

Final Thoughts

Depression is a mood disorder that is characterized by feelings of sadness for a long period of time. Many people throughout their lives will experience some depression in varying degrees. If you notice that what you are experiencing resembles any of what I have described above, please know that you can make changes and you can live a life free of depression. Getting help, support, and treatment is essential to addressing the depression or changes in your life that might need to be considered.

Bitcoin plunges on day El Salvador adopts it as national currency

Bitcoin fell by as much as 16% on Tuesday just hours after El Salvador's adoption of Bitcoin as a legal tender came into effect and encountered some technical setbacks.

After reaching multimonth highs of more than $52,000 over the weekend, Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies were in the red on Tuesday morning, falling steeply before recovering a bit to about $47,000 by noon, a loss of more than 9% over the past 24 hours. The plunge followed El Salvador's adoption of Bitcoin as a national currency.

The country first approved the bold move in June, and the decision has been hailed by Salvadoran President Nayib Bukele as an innovative step that could help propel El Salvador, a poverty-stricken and crime-plagued Central American country, into increased prosperity. The adoption of Bitcoin as legal tender became effective on Tuesday and is an enormous milestone for the cryptocurrency, which was just a blip on the world’s economic radar a few years ago.

To begin what is being dubbed Bitcoin Day, or B-Day, the government of El Salvador purchased 400 bitcoins, which is worth more than $20 million as of Tuesday morning. The country also introduced new federal e-wallets called Chivo (slang for “cool”) as part of the endeavor, which envisions Salvadorans using Chivo to pay for a wide array of products and services.

After Bitcoin began to crash, which happened in just a matter of minutes, Bukele's government purchased even more of the digital asset.

"Buying the dip," Bukele tweeted along with a winking emoji. "150 new coins added."

The exact reason behind the sharp selloff was not immediately clear, although the drop came as the country faced some issues with its rollout of Bitcoin and Chivo. Chivo didn’t immediately appear on Apple’s app store, which is used by iPhones, and Google’s Play store, which is used by Android devices, at midnight local time. It did appear on Huawei’s store at about 2 a.m., according to the Wall Street Journal.

There were some glitches with the Chivo system, and hours before the sudden selloff, Bukele tweeted that servers were being temporarily taken offline as Chivo added capacity.

Bukele’s government has also committed to investing more than $225 million in dozens of Bitcoin ATMs across the country and incentivizing the use of the cryptocurrency by giving away about $30 in Bitcoin to those who use the Chivo system.

El Salvador’s decision came about two decades after it phased out its use of the Salvadoran colón and began using the U.S. dollar.

Peter St. Onge, a research fellow for economic policy at the Heritage Foundation, told the Washington Examiner on Tuesday that part of the reason El Salvador wanted to adopt Bitcoin is because of the country’s enormous reliance on remittances, which is largely money transferred from immigrants in the United States back to relatives in El Salvador.

Bukele has hailed sending those remittances in the form of Bitcoin because he thinks it will help avoid fees and be a cheaper way to send money. The president has said that a “big chunk” of the $6 billion in remittances sent each year is lost to intermediaries and that Bitcoin and Chivo will help low-income families by helping them avoid those intermediaries.

About 70% of Salvadorans do not have a bank account, and Bukele said he hopes that through the use of Bitcoin transfer apps such as Chivo and Strike, more people in the country will be able to have access to banking services.

The move has broader implications for the cryptocurrency market and offers more legitimacy to Bitcoin and so-called altcoins such as Ethereum and Cardano because it is being embraced by an entire economy. Other countries that have high inflation, such as Venezuela, will also be closely watching the rollout to see whether turning to Bitcoin may be an effective move for economic prosperity.

El Salvador will invariably face some hurdles in expanding its new national currency. Some will be technical in nature (such as how well Chivo functions), but another is simply the mercurial nature of Bitcoin and the cryptocurrency realm in general.

As of Tuesday morning, during the launch of Chivo, Bitcoin was valued at more than $52,000, but in a poignant example of the asset’s volatility, it plummeted to less than $44,000 in a matter of hours before making up some of those losses and clocking in at about $47,000.

It dropped to a low of just under $29,000 in July after soaring to a record high of more than $63,000 in April.

“Most people should not park their life savings in Bitcoin simply because it can go up. It can go down,” St. Onge said, noting that if poor Salvadorans start using Bitcoin to hold a large store of their overall wealth, it could create risk for them.

Bukele, a young and tech-savvy businessman, tweeted on Tuesday morning that like all innovations, his country’s adoption of Bitcoin as a legal tender has a “learning curve,” but he said he thinks it has the potential to advance El Salvador “towards the first world.”
