Man Fatally Shoots Himself in Head During Gun Safety Lesson
DarendukesThis happens once a year.
Guns don't kill people; gun safety lessons kill people. On Sunday, a man fatally shot himself in the head while giving his girlfriend a lesson on how to "safely" use his handguns.

A Farscape movie is in the works
DarendukesOMG I fucking loved Farscape!
It was kinda like Firefly with muppets. Kinda.
A Farscape movie is in development, a decade after Farscape: The Peacekeeper Wars provided closure to fans left hanging by the original series' final episode. Screenwriter Justin Monjo has reportedly written a script for the spinoff, to be directed by Brian Henson (son of Jim Henson), Executive Producer of the show's original four-season run and director of Peacekeeper Wars.

Fan-Made Game of Thrones trailer is better than all the HBO trailers
DarendukesAwesome!
Instead of using hyper-fast cuts of characters looking ominously just past the camera YouTube user LadyDogTrailers cobbled together all the official Game of Thrones trailers HBO's released, and recut it so you can see what's actually happening, to Lorde's cover of the Tears for Fears song "Everybody Wants to Rule the World." It is fan-fucking-tastic.
Titanfall install requires up to 40GB on Xbox One
DarendukesI'm bummed out that you can't pre-load it before the release day.
Titanfall install will require up to 40GB of space on your Xbox One hard-drive.
The information comes from this morning’s bundle announcement. Specifically, the pack shot, it reads, “On Xbox, Titanfall requires Xbox Live Gold membership. Titanfall game download card inside marked packages; up to 40 GB required.”
And as MP1st notes, this install size is no different from other games, Battlefield 4 and Call of Duty Ghosts needed 33GB and 39GB of space respectively.
So there you have it, now go ahead and free some space on your hard-drive.
Thanks, MP1st
Sony Pictures developing a film based on the rise of Sega against Nintendo in the 90s
DarendukesSony making movie about Sega vs Nintendo. Sounds odd..
Console Wars: Sega, Nintendo, and the Battle that Defined a Generation is an upcoming book chronicling the fight -read war- between Nintendo and Sega in the 1990s. Sony Pictures has bought the rights to the book and is producing a feature film and a documentary based on it.
Book Trade reports that Sony Pictures is working on two adaptations of the book. The first is a feature film which will be written and directed by Seth Rogen (Pineapple Express, This is The End) and Evan Goldberg. Both of whom have written a foreword for the book.
The second will be a documentary film, with Rogen and Goldberg producing.
The book is described as “a riveting behind-the-scenes business thriller that chronicles how Sega, a small, scrappy gaming company led by an unlikely visionary, took on the juggernaut Nintendo and revolutionized the video game industry.” It will be published this August.
Are you excited to read the book or watch the film? Let us know your thoughts.
Thanks, Eurogamer.

The Gang is Getting Back Together
DarendukesFor Eric,
Clearing out old feeds that I don't read... Came across this.
Building on the work from our last update, we are now releasing the entire set of “older” Left 4 Dead 1 models.
It was an interesting walk back through our content tree to find all the various pieces and versions. Depending on your definition of the old models, some of these may vary in some slight detail as we work in an iterative process and never internally defined a version of these models. They have always just been Zoey, Louis, Bill, and Francis to us.

Facebook Buys Messaging App for $19 Billion in Blockbuster Deal
DarendukesI have never heard of WhatsApp.
Put the Snapchat co-founders on suicide watch: Facebook is buying WhatsApp, a smartphone messaging service that's enormously popular around the world, for $16 billion, plus $3 billion in restricted stock units for employees, making it one of the biggest tech deals in history.
The Guardians of the Galaxy Trailer Is Finally Here and It's Awesome
DarendukesNever read these comics. Know nothing about it.
But I really want to see this now.
Jimmy Fallon might be getting all the late night attention this week, but his new competitor Jimmy Kimmel has one thing Fallon doesn't. Thanks to ABC's direct ties with Disney and therefore Marvel, Kimmel was able to air The Guardians of the Galaxy trailer on Jimmy Kimmel Live! Tuesday night.
Mother outraged by 'indecent' t-shirts in Pac-Sun store buys all of them to stop teenagers getting their hands on them
DarendukesLook at this shirt.

A mother upset about 'indecent' T-shirts on display at a Utah mall found a quick if not especially convenient way to remove them: She bought every last one.
Judy Cox and her 18-year-old son were shopping on Saturday at the University Mall in Orem, about 40 miles south of Salt Lake City, when she saw the shirts in the window of a PacSun store. The shirts featured pictures of scantily dressed models in provocative poses.
Kansas bill would allow spanking that leaves marks, redness
DarendukesThere's something very funny to me about a group of people observing proper parliamentary procedure while discussing beating children.
I can picture this as a sketch by The State.
A Kansas lawmaker is raising eyebrows after she proposed a bill to allow parents, teachers and caregivers to spank children hard enough to leave redness or bruising.
Rep. Gail Finney, a Democrat from Wichita, says the bill is meant to restore parental rights and improve discipline among the state’s children. KCTV reports Finney was introduced to the idea by McPherson Deputy County Attorney Britt Colle, who told the station the bill makes it clear hitting a child with a fist, with a belt or in the head or body is still banned.
