Controlling your Android phone with one button isn't as great as it sounds
Philip.paulssonI have this (didn't back it, but bought it after), and it's not bad. At first I couldn't use the "long-press" option, so I was kinda limited in the programming, but I've found that it's only really useful for smaller things anyway. Flashlight definitely comes in handy. My biggest gripe is that the picture taking is MAJORLY slow unless you unlock your phone first, and then what's the point?

A Camera Was Mounted To An Eagle Flying Over Paris And It's Breathtaking
Philip.paulssonCool!
That view.
Meet Victor, a bad-ass white-tailed eagle. A camera was mounted to him as he jumped off the summit of the Eiffel Tower in Paris.

Victor then decided to fly over the magnificent city.

And what a view it was.

Victor then landed in front of a crowd of eager onlookers.

This was all a part of a campaign by SOS: Save Our Species, an organisation that raises awareness for engendered wildlife like the white-tailed eagle.

This Swedish Subway Billboard About Child Cancer Is Extremely Powerful
Philip.paulssonPretty cool.
No one saw this twist coming.
Earlier this year a Swedish shampoo company made waves with this hi-tech subway advert.
Now the Swedish Childhood Cancer Foundation (Barncancerfonden) has come up with a variation.
It still evokes surprise from those who view it...
...But it has one hell of a powerful twist.
And on top of everything Swedish ad agency Garbergs did it for the charity pro bono.

7 Cocktails You Can Make With Surge Now That You're An Adult
All your favorite drinks have been missing an essential, neon-green ingredient: SURGE.

Photo by Lauren Zaser / Design by Rachel Sanders / BuzzFeed Life
Surge has returned to us.
Earlier this fall, in response to impassioned pleas from their consumer base, Coca-Cola resurrected the beloved caffeinated citrus soda from its bubbly grave. The drink is now for sale exclusively on Amazon, where a bulk order of 48 tallboy cans will run you around $100 (as of press time). And boy, do people have feelings about it!

Lauren Zaser / BuzzFeed Life
While Surge's phosphorescent green glow may remain undimmed, the young men and women who kept the flame of hope alive have changed in the decade-plus since it went off the market: We can now legally consume alcohol.
So what better way to celebrate the Return of Surge than with seven classic boozy beverages, now much improved by the fresh lemon-lime flavor of '90s nostalgia? (That was a rhetorical question, there is no better way.) Order yourself a few cases of soda and get mixing with these recipes.
More Books With the Mystical Properties of 50 Shades of Grey
Philip.paulssonLOL
Normally my wife has very little interest in sex. I always initiate, usually get told no, but once every 2 weeks or so she relents and we have sexy fun times.
However a few months back she pretty much devoured the 50 Shades of Grey series within the space of about a month, and while she was reading them she was a completely different woman. She initiated sex with me almost every night, getting me to do things to her that she would normally never want me to do. It was, to say the least, awesome.
After she finished the books, things petered out again and we're back to our usual routine. *sigh*
I've decided I'm willing to spend any amount of money to buy her more books that are likely to make her the horny little minx she was while reading 50 Shades.
So; recommendations, please? Thanks in advance!

Madrid Is Set To Kill The Pet Dog Whose Owner Was Infected By Ebola
Philip.paulssonAwwww she looks like Moxie (but fatter)
Despite the family’s pleas and a petition to save Excalibur, the health ministry said it would euthanize the pet dog.
Madrid's regional government is set to euthanize the pet dog of the Spanish nurse infected with Ebola, against the family's wishes.

The government got a court order on Tuesday to euthanize and incinerate the mixed breed dog called Excalibur, who belongs to Teresa Romero, the nursing assistant who became infected with Ebola in Spain.
Romero is the first Ebola patient to have contracted the disease outside of West Africa in the recent outbreak.
Romero's husband, Javier Limon Romero — who has now been quarantined — posted this message on the Facebook page of an animal protection organization, asking for his dog not to be sacrificed.
The translation of the post (via EL PAÍS):
Hello, my name is Javier Limon Romero. I am the husband of Teresa Romero Ramos, the nursing assistant infected with ebola for voluntarily treating the two infected patients who were repatriated to Spain.
I want to publicly condemn that a certain Zarco, who I think is the health chief for the Madrid region, has told me that they have to put down my dog, just like that, without further ado. He has asked for my consent, which I have categorically denied.
He says that they will therefore request a judicial order to break into my house and destroy him. Before going to the hospital I left him several buckets of water, the bath tub also full of water, and a 15kg bag of feed, so he had food and water. I also left the terrace open so he could do his business.
It seems unfair to me that because of their mistake, they want to solve this the quick way.
A dog will not pass anything on to another person, and the same goes the other way around.
If this problem worries them so much, I think other alternative solutions can be found, such as, for example, putting the dog in quarantine and observation, as they have done with me. Or maybe they will have to put me down, just in case.
But, of course, a dog is easier, it doesn't matter as much."
The government said Excalibur would be euthanized in a way to avoid suffering and his body would be incinerated.

Spanish health authorities said that available scientific knowledge suggested a risk that mixed-breed dogs could transmit the Ebola virus to humans, the Associated Press reported.
CDC Director Tom Frieden said there was one article in medical literature that discussed the presence of antibodies to Ebola in dogs, adding there was no way to know if the test was accurate or relevant. "We have not identified this as a means of transmission," he said at a news conference Tuesday.
Lace Front Beards Are Apparently A Thing And It's Terrifying
Philip.paulssonEven as a dude who laments the fact that he can't grow a beard, I'm going to have to say Nope.

That's essentially a wig. ON HIS FACE. Let that sink in for a few seconds.

Alfonso Ribeiro Finally Did "The Carlton" On "DWTS" And It Was Glorious
Philip.paulssonNice.
Ohhhhhh, I wanna die.
Former Fresh Prince of Bel-Air star Alfonso Ribeiro has been tearing up the floor on Dancing With the Stars Season 19, but on Monday night, he gave the crowd what they wanted: The Carlton.

ABC / Via youtube.com
Yes, he finally did the signature dance that made his Fresh Prince character famous and his pro partner Witney Carson joined in.

"I was pigeonholed as an actor based on that character," Ribeiro said of Calrton Banks in his intro package before the dance. The actor said he "fell out of love" with his breakthrough character as a result, but is now back in love with Carlton and his accompanying dance. "I love how it makes people feel. I love the fact that people have this nostalgic look at that dance," he said. "My No. 1 goal this week is to please the fans and to give America what I feel they've been asking for since the beginning of this show: The Carlton."
ABC
Of course, this was all made better by the fact that their jazz number was set to Carlton's favorite song: "It's Not Unusual" by Tom Jones.

And, unsurprisingly, the judges (and America) gave Alfonso and Witney a perfect 40 for their routine.

Starbucks Is Testing A New Latte That Tastes Exactly Like Guinness
Philip.paulssonHmmmm interesting.
The best part of waking up is the taste of Guinness in your cup.
Attention all coffee lovers: Starbucks is testing a new drink that they say tastes like stout beer.

BEER FLAVORED COFFEE, YOU GUYS.
The Dark Barrel Latte is made with a flavored syrup that mirrors the taste of dark beers like Guinness. It's topped with whipped cream and a dark caramel sauce.

It's available now in select test markets, but no word on when the drink will be available nationwide. When I was in Columbus, OH a few weeks ago, I tried the Dark Barrel Latte, and it does taste remarkably like stout.

Are you ready to have Guinness for breakfast?*

*There isn't actually any beer in the drink.

This Six-Foot Spider's Web Covering A Guy's Driveway Is All Kinds Of Wrong
Philip.paulssonWoah.
Never leaving the house again.
This is what faced 74-year-old Russell Harding when he stepped outside his front door last Thursday.

Russell Harding / SWNS
According to the SWNS news agency, a spider an inch-and-a-half in size had somehow managed to spin a six-foot web stretching from the wing mirror on Harding's car to his shed.
LOOK AT THE SIZE OF THAT THING!!! NOOOOOOOOOOOOOPE.
I don't understand how the spider did it, it was incredible. I'm just mystified.
My wife would have actually passed out if she had walked into the web. There would have been a lot of screaming.
Fortunately it had been a very dewy morning which highlighted the web so I saw it before I walked into it.
Harding said he had to detach the web from his car to allow his family to leave the house.
