FOB nails!!!

Ahhhhh, you guys. These nails! If you liked my ability to do semi-realistic knives and stuff during Dexter week, lemme show you these sweet nails! Today's theme for the DD September Spectacular celebration is music, and I just absolutely had to do something inspired by Fall Out Boy because I have a major spot in my heart carved out for them (not literally obviously because death, but you get the picture). I am so so glad they're back making music again, so I thought I would do some imagery from the music video for My Songs Know What You Did in the Dark (Light em Up) and The Phoenix. Check em out!

I am so happy with these nails! Not only did they look exactly how I envisioned they might maybe look, they also photographed really really well. And yes, of course, they took a very long time to do so this more on the verge of 'regular art on a tiny canvas' vs. nail art (not really a design I expect people to recreate, ha). Also for some of the more nail art ~purists~ out there, I'm pleased to say this is like 80% nail polish; I used a little bit of acrylic paint (tattoo, blood spatter, and outlining the flame), but there's a ton of detail in the match nail that's all mixed nail polish :D

The smoke was done using a dry brush & thin grey polish (OPI My Boyfriend Scales Walls). I really like the hand nail! I put some matte top coat on it before flicking the red onto it, but then put some glossy top coat back on top of the blood spatter dots to give it a lot of dimension. I also dibby-dabbed some flakies on to the top portion of the match nail; they're very subtle, but I love the realism it adds when they flash in the light. PS. My thumb is a pretty meh job at stamping some gold chains for 2 Chainz over some flakies.

Now check out the other music inspired nail art for today! And don't forget about the super September spectacular giveaway!!!
