Manufacturing Romantic Love: Falling in Love Is the Easy Part [Video]

by Geeks are Sexy

Did you know that could you possibly fall in love with someone just by asking them 36 increasingly personal questions? Mandy Len Catron, creator of The Love Story Project, tried the experiment, and it worked. She then wrote a viral article about it, but the questions remains, does this technique creates durable love? And what is the difference between falling in love and staying in love?

Here are those 36 questions:

1. Given the choice of anyone in the world, whom would you want as a dinner guest?

2. Would you like to be famous? In what way?

3. Before making a phone call, do you ever rehearse what you’re going to say? Why?

4. What would constitute a perfect day for you?

5. When did you last sing to yourself? To someone else?

6. If you were able to live to the age of 90 and retain either the mind or body of a 30-year old for the last 60 years of your life, which would you choose?

7. Do you have a secret hunch about how you will die?

8. Name three things you and your partner appear to have in common.

9. For what in your life do you feel most grateful?

10. If you could change anything about the way you were raised, what would it be?

11. Take four minutes and tell you partner your life story in as much detail as possible.

12. If you could wake up tomorrow having gained one quality or ability, what would it be?

13. If a crystal ball could tell you the truth about yourself, your life, the future or anything else, what would you want to know?

14. Is there something that you’ve dreamt of doing for a long time? Why haven’t you done it?

15. What is the greatest accomplishment of your life?

16. What do you value most in a friendship?

17. What is your most treasured memory?

18. What is your most terrible memory?

19. If you knew that in one year you would die suddenly, would you change anything about the way you are now living? Why?

20. What does friendship mean to you?

21. What roles do love and affection play in your life?

22. Alternate sharing something you consider a positive characteristic of your partner. Share a total of five items.

23. How close and warm is your family? Do you feel your childhood was happier than most other people’s?

24. How do you feel about your relationship with your mother?

25. Make three true “we” statements each. For instance, “we are both in this room feeling…”

26. Complete this sentence “I wish I had someone with whom I could share…”

27. If you were going to become a close friend with your partner, please share what would be important for him or her to know.

28. Tell your partner what you like about them: be honest this time, saying things that you might not say to someone you’ve just met.

29. Share with your partner an embarrassing moment in your life.

30. When did you last cry in front of another person? By yourself?

31. Tell your partner something that you like about them already.

32. What, if anything, is too serious to be joked about?

33. If you were to die this evening with no opportunity to communicate with anyone, what would you most regret not having told someone? Why haven’t you told them yet?

34. Your house, containing everything you own, catches fire. After saving your loved ones and pets, you have time to safely make a final dash to save any one item. What would it be? Why?

35. Of all the people in your family, whose death would you find most disturbing? Why?

36. Share a personal problem and ask your partner’s advice on how he or she might handle it. Also, ask your partner to reflect back to you how you seem to be feeling about the problem you have chosen.

‘Ready Player One': Elle Fanning and More Up for Female Lead

by Angie Han

Ready Player One movie

Ready Player One is readying a cast. Elle Fanning, Olivia Cooke, and Lola Kirke are vying for the female lead in the Steven Spielberg picture, which is based on the novel by Ernest Cline. In addition, Nick Robinson is reportedly being eyed for the male lead. Get the latest on the Ready Player One female lead casting after the jump.

TheWrap broke the news about the Ready Player One female lead. Fanning, Cooke, and Kirke are all expected to test for the role of Art3mis, along with a couple of other actresses whose names remain unknown. Casting director Ellen Lewis is narrowing down the field of contenders while Spielberg finishes up his work on Bridge of Spies and The BFG.

Art3mis is a VR avatar who encounters protagonist Wade Watts in the VR universe OASIS, where both are on the hunt for a hidden Easter egg. Whoever finds that egg stands to inherit the multi-billion-dollar OASIS fortune, as decreed by its creator James Halliday. (There was some speculation Gene Wilder could emerge from retirement to play Halliday, but so far it’s just a rumor.)

Fanning is the best known of the three potential leads. Her recent credits include Maleficent and The Boxtrolls, she recently wrapped Nicolas Winding Refn’s The Neon Demon. Kirke made an impression in David Fincher’s Gone Girl and currently stars in Noah Baumbach’s Mistress America.

Cooke is a regular on A&E’s Bates Motel, but her real breakthrough might be the Sundance crowdpleaser Me and Earl and the Dying Girl. Just this week, she was reported to be in the running (alongside Tatiana Maslany and Gina Rodriguez) for Star Wars Episode VIII.

As for who’ll play Wade, Variety’s Justin Kroll has heard Robinson is one of the possibilities. The young actor made a splash in the coming-of-age indie Kings of Summer, before nabbing a major role in the Spielberg-produced Jurassic World. Next up for him is the unfortunately generic-looking dystopian YA thriller The 5th Wave.

Warner Bros. has Ready Player One in theaters December 15, 2017.

How to Activate “God Mode” in Windows 10

by Geeks are Sexy

god1

The feature first appeared in Windows 7, but in case you were not aware of it, “God Mode,” which is a hidden menu allowing you to access all available configuration parameters in one simple location, is still available in Windows 10.

The only thing your need to do to activate “God Mode” is to create a new folder on you desktop (right click your desktop -> New -> Folder) and then assign this name to it: GodMode.{ED7BA470-8E54-465E-825C-99712043E01C}

That’s all you need to do! The folder should look like this:

And here’s what you’ll find in it:

Nice one, Scott. :)

Space Pop

I hate that song. Not because it’s bad, as one might argue, but because once it’s in your head, it never EVER leaves. @7Tee2 on twitter had a pretty funny reply he sent to me, so I decided to play with it a little and put something up. Enjoy!

‘Lucifer’ TV Series Based on ‘Sandman’ Character Coming From Fox and DC

by Russ Fischer

Lucifer TV series

Warner Bros and DC are really going all-out with TV series. In addition to Arrow, The Flash, Gotham, Constantine, the new Teen Titans-based Titans, Supergirl, and the possibility of a Wonder Woman show, there’s now another. Fox and the other companies are partnering on a Lucifer TV series. This version of Lucifer is based on the conception of the character created by Neil Gaiman for Sandman, which was in turn inspired by Milton’s depiction of him in Paradise Lost, and which was eventually spun off into his own Vertigo series written by Mike Carey.

Deadline reports that this would be essentially Gaiman’s Lucifer, saying,

…the TV series, written and executive produced by Kapinos, centers on Lucifer who, bored and unhappy as the Lord of Hell, resigns his throne and abandons his kingdom for the gorgeous, shimmering insanity of Los Angeles, where he opens an exclusive piano bar called Lux.

The exec producer mentioned there is Californication creator/executive producer Tom Kapinos, who is working with DC and Warner Bros. TV on the show. Fox has given a put pilot commitment to the series, meaning it has to air the pilot or incur serious financial penalties.

That hire means that the guy who did Californication is doing a show about Lucifer making his way through California, and that makes a weird sort of perfect sense.

This version of Lucifer was introduced early in Sandman. His first appearance there was very much as an antagonist. But in the ‘Season of Mists’ storyline, Morpheus, the personification of dreams, goes to Hell in an attempt to free Nada, a woman he had imprisoned there centuries earlier.

In Hell Morpheus finds Lucifer to be surprisingly accommodating, and in fact receives a strange gift from the fallen angel: the key to Hell. Lucifer bails on his gig as ruler of that realm, leaving the choice for a new ruler to Morpheus. Eventually, after a stint in Australia, Lucifer sets up shop in Los Angeles as described above.

A Lucifer TV series could be one way to introduce Sandman characters without diving full-on into a series based entirely on Gaiman’s stories. But with a big-screen Sandman developing and WB maintaining different lines of continuity between TV and film projects, don’t expect that to happen.

NCAC's Youth Free Expression Film Contest Theme is Video Game Censorship

by james_fudge
Djbleecher

I wish that more game companies would do this with older code. It will allow up and coming designers to sharpen their skills. I learned web design through reverse engineering sites that I liked.

The National Coalition Against Censorship (NCAC) announced the theme for its 2013 Youth Free Expression Film Contest. This year’s theme will be "Video Games in the Crosshairs." The non-profit organization goes wherever it is needed to fight against censorship in the United States. After the Sandy Hook School shooting back in December of last year, politicians at the state and federal level started wagging their fingers at video games as a catalyst for the violent act.
