Tidying Up
LrbeverBeen there, done that.
Peeps, we know our site has been really buggy. Many of you have written in with concerns and violent threats. After notifying the proper authorities, we decided to do some housekeeping (i.e. rebuild the site), and we?re close to finishing (this month). The rebuild will mean a subtle redesign and super fast, AJAX powered comic navigation. Stay tuned.
157. AMY POEHLER: Great people do things before they’re ready
LrbeverI love this comic!
Amy Poehler is one of my favourite funny people, known for her portrayal as Pawnee’s Leslie Knope in Parks and Recreation, which I’m a big fan of. She’s also a Saturday Night Live alum and co-founded the influential improv school, The Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre.
Besides being an incredibly talented and hilarious performer, Poehler has started projects to promote women’s rights and empower young girls. Her website Amy Poehler’s Smart Girls is a hub for young women to learn and be part of a community, and in her YouTube series Ask Amy, Poehler gives advice and answers questions from fans.
This quote is taken from an Ask Amy video about courage.

- Thanks to Elise, professional blogger and crafty person, for introducing me to this quote. She used it in her World Domination Summit talk.

Twilight Sparkle and Rainbow Dash Piggie Banks Pop Up
LrbeverThese are the ones that I was talking about, except I saw a Pinkie one too.
After season four, Rainbow Dash returned to the Wonderbolts Academy to continue her training. While executing her "Fantastic Filly Flash", she unfortunately knocked over a pillar, causing the entire school to crumble to dust. Following that, her grant was dropped and she was ejected from the academy with no chance at re-enrolling.
Equestrias fasted flier soon became Equestrias biggest tub of ice cream fan, eating one or two a day while slowly succumbing to the realization that her future life as a Wonderbolt was over. Eventually she packed on the pounds, and her snout reshaped itself to allow for the extra weight. Above is the effect of that.
A few months later, she came to Twilight Sparkle begging to fix her after not being able to fly up to her house. With her amazing alicorn magic, Twilight screwed up and cloned the weight onto herself. They now throw ice cream parties in the new castle thingy while collecting diet and exercise books in her new library.
Uhh, anyway, this is now a thing over on Shop Your Way. It looks like neither of them are in stock at the moment, but we may see them invade the world eventually!
Thanks to Micheal for sending it!

G.M. Berrow Joins Writing Staff for Season 5
LrbeverShe sure stays busy.
From G.M. Berrow's panel at BronyCon, we have yet another writer joining the staff for season 5. It looks like she joined in to write one of the episodes. If you like her style in the book series, expect something in a similar vain to that in the actual show in a few months!
Thanks to Andrew for sending it, and our very own Couch Crusader for posting it!
UK police shot 5 people to death in the last 4 years. However, US police shot and killed over 1600!
LrbeverInteresting.
In 2011, North London police shot and killed 29-year old Mark Duggan.
His death, similar to that of Rodney King, created racial tension between police and London citizens, sparking riots throughout England.
It also created a conversation about police shootings.
In over 10,000 armed police operations carried out between 2011 and 2014, London police fired their weapons only 20 times, resulting in 1 death.
In the entire United Kingdom, this figure rises to 5 deaths.
However, in the United States, police shot and killed over 1600 individuals. Why such a large difference?
Part of the United States’ higher number of police shootings may be attributed to the nation’s size and population, which is considerably larger than that of the UK.
But even if one alters the numbers to compensate, the US still has a much higher rate than its neighbor across the pond.
Perhaps the States’ disproportionate amount of shootings stems from its revolutionary history, which created a focus on gun rights held up by the Second Amendment. Or maybe it’s a cultural issue reinforced by violent entertainment and language, an opinion shared by some media critics.
Either way, it is a statistic worth discussing.
Pew Research Studies Show That Atheists Know More About Religion Than Religious People Do!
LrbeverOf course.
According to a 2010 study from Pew Research, Atheists had a religious test score that crushed the religious competitor’s by double!
The study conducted 32 questions about various aspects of each religion including The Bible, Judaism, Christianity, religion in public and more.
Atheists and Agnostic surveyors got an average of 20.9 questions out of 32 correct while Christians averaged at around 15 questions correct.
Coming in at a close second, Jewish surveyors answered an average of 20.5 correctly and Mormons scored a high average of 20.3 questions correctly.
The test was compiled of five questions regarding the Bible’s Old Testament and 2 questions on the New Testament.
There were also three to five elements questions on Judaism and Mormonism, a piece. World religion questions included information on Ramadan, the Koran, Dalai Llama, Hinduism, Greek mythology and more.
Mega Marathon Starts Today! A Week of Pony
LrbeverGuess what I forgot.
This one popped up a few weeks ago, and it is finally here. Can you handle the challenge? Are you badass enough to do five whole days of pony? Is it even possible to endure for so long?! How many ponies even is that?
Hit up The Hub at 9:00 AM EST today, and prep the snacks. According to the trailer, events are planned during the breaks between episodes.
Good luck!
