Guinness Bacon Brownies

Guinness Bacon Brownies

It should be no surprise to hear that we’re huge Guinness fans here at Bacon Today. We’ve made Guinness Waffles, Guinness BBQ Sauce, Green Guinness Beer-Battered Bacon, a Guinness Milkshake, and of course our Guinness Challah Bread! The only thing we love more than cooking with Guinness is drinking it right out of the bottle. Mmmmmm!
We love experimenting in the kitchen with Guinness, but sometimes we like to make a “classic” Guinness and bacon recipe like these brownies. We’ve created a super simple recipe that uses box brownie mix for those who want to get their bacon brownie fix in stat. All you’ll need is bacon, brownie mix, oil, Guinness and eggs for the brownies and powdered sugar and butter for the frosting. This recipe serves a crowd so take it to a St. Patrick’s Day potluck or just eat the whole tray yourself.
Ingredients:
1 lb. cooked, chopped bacon
2 boxes of brownie mix (we used Ghirardelli double chocolate)
2 eggs
2/3 cup Guinness Stout
2/3 cup oil
2 sticks softened butter
2 cups powdered sugar
Instructions:
Lightly beat the eggs in a large bowl. Add the Guinness and the oil and stir. Add the brownie mix to the liquid ingredients and stir until combined. Add half the bacon to the batter and stir again.
Pour into a greased 9” x 11” casserole dish. Bake for 60-70 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
For the frosting, add the powdered sugar to the butter and whip with a hand mixer. May add 2-4 Tbsp. of Guinness for even more stout flavor. Frost the brownies after they have cooled and top with the remaining bacon. Enjoy!

Finnish Band Nightwish Releases Latest Single, Featuring Narration by Richard Dawkins
Lrbeverlol
The Finland-based symphonic metal band Nightwish is about to release their new album, drawing inspiration from the natural world and the work of Richard Dawkins. (In fact, Dawkins appears on the album as a narrator for two of the songs.)
I posted the first single last month. Today, they released their latest single (audio only), “Shudder Before The Beautiful,” and it’s one of the songs featuring Dawkins (albeit briefly):

Endless Forms Most Beautiful comes out in North America on March 31.

Spend Your Money with PONIES, Pony Debit Cards Appear
LrbeverToo bad my debit card is Visa.
Card.com now has officially licensed prepaid debit cards with ponies on them. At the moment, only the oldschool vectors are available, including season one Luna as her only showing for the set. Hasbro needs to unlock that at some point! I wonder why we always see everyone start with these? Maybe we will see more designs over time? I almost switched over to another bank when I found out BOFA doesn't do custom ones. I wanted a Trixie debit card for the longest time...
Anyway, get them over here.
Thanks to Haru, Scope and Steven for sending them.

Just a little thing called reason.

Two quick things about this comic. One, as a parent I find it extremely accurate. Two, as a gamer I never honestly thought I would ever share anything from NickMom on Dueling Analogs, but here we are.See more: Minecraft vs. Real World
