Colorado-based artist Chris Haas combines his hobby of collecting animal skulls and his passion for art to create hauntingly beautiful mixed media pieces. Hass paints and embellishes his skulls with sculptural details, gives them spellbinding glass eyes, and sometimes adds antlers, horns, ears, or beaks to create entirely new hybrid creatures. These lavishly decorated skulls are then mounted on ornate plaques and frames, like dark otherworldly taxidermy.
To check out many more of his marvelously macabre creations visit Chris Haas’ website, Facebook page, or Instagram feed.

Estonian Students Build Giant Wooden Megaphones To Listen To The Forest
A group of interior architecture students have built king-size wooden megaphones deep in the woods in Estonia. It is a large scale acoustic installation that amplifies the sounds of the forest.
The installation blends contemporary architectural space and wilderness and is accessible for hikers and nature lovers for free. The objects were placed at such a distance and angle that the sound feed from all the three directions creates a delicate unique sound at the very centre.
The installation can also be used as a sitting and resting area or even as a stage. The author of the idea is an interior architecture student Birgit Õigus. The group was instructed by designers Tõnis Kalve, Ahti Grünberg and architecture office b210.

11 Photos Taken Over 28 Minutes Show The Moon Rising Over LA
Dan Marker-Moore, a photographer and video artist based in LA, created a pair of beautiful composite photos that capture the moon as it rises above the city.
All in all, Marker-Moore took 11 photos over 27 minutes and 59 seconds. One of his images became a night-time composite that shows a string of full moons rising into the sky, while the other is a time-slice that he created by cutting together slices from a series of photos taken at different points throughout the moon-rise. He also got a video of the moon rising that you can check out below!
