The U.S. House has set a strict ban on congressional staffers' use of Microsoft Copilot, the company's AI-based chatbot, Axios reported Friday. From the report: The House last June restricted staffers' use of ChatGPT, allowing limited use of the paid subscription version while banning the free version. The House's Chief Administrative Officer Catherine Szpindor, in guidance to congressional offices obtained by Axios, said Microsoft Copilot is "unauthorized for House use." "The Microsoft Copilot application has been deemed by the Office of Cybersecurity to be a risk to users due to the threat of leaking House data to non-House approved cloud services," it said. The guidance added that Copilot "will be removed from and blocked on all House Windows devices."

Alphabet is cautioning employees about how they use chatbots, including its own Bard, at the same time as it markets the program around the world, Reuters reported Thursday, citing people familiar with the matter. From the report: The Google parent has advised employees not to enter its confidential materials into AI chatbots, the people said and the company confirmed, citing long-standing policy on safeguarding information. The chatbots, among them Bard and ChatGPT, are human-sounding programs that use so-called generative artificial intelligence to hold conversations with users and answer myriad prompts. Human reviewers may read the chats, and researchers found that similar AI could reproduce the data it absorbed during training, creating a leak risk. Alphabet also alerted its engineers to avoid direct use of computer code that chatbots can generate, some of the people said. Asked for comment, the company said Bard can make undesired code suggestions, but it helps programmers nonetheless. Google also said it aimed to be transparent about the limitations of its technology. The concerns show how Google wishes to avoid business harm from software it launched in competition with ChatGPT.

Post Secret has long been part of waking up Sunday morning.

About 11-12 years ago, I will never forget opening the page and at the top Was not a postcard, but a video. You captioned it something like “a haunting submission”.

Immediately, I recognized the voice. It was one of my best friends. I didn’t know this specific secret, but I knew many others and I knew the story behind this secret.

It took me about a year before I revealed that I saw it and knew it was him. We talked about it, and how he made it and submitted it.

Anyways.  Today is his 53rd birthday. He died by suicide in august of 2015.

I just want to hear his voice. He was a rock to me. I sometimes feel a bit untethered with him gone. I have looked all over the PS sites and pages to find it on my own.
