Key & Peele have released a hilarious horror comedy sketch called "Make-A-Wish" to help ring in the Halloween holiday. This short had me busting up. It's demented as hell but in all the right ways. In the short, a terminally ill boy meets with his doctor and a representative from the Make-A-Wish Foundation. As the boy starts to make his wishes we realize how much of a complete psychopath this kid is, and things get very uncomfortable for the doctor and representative. This is the kind of kid who would have grown up to be a full-blown murderous killer. I really, really, really hope that kids like the one portrayed in this short don't really exist! That's just a terrifying thought.

Reading Rainbow's LaVar Burton Reads GO THE F**K TO SLEEP
You know what's even better than listening to Samuel L. Jackson reading Adam Mansbach's satirical bedtime story, Go The F**k to Sleep? Listening to Reading Rainbow and Star Trek: The Next Generation star LaVar Burton reading it while wearing a Captain Planet t-shirt! He read it in support of Rooster Teeth's Extra Life charity drive telethon. Now, Jackson did an awesome job, but what makes this version so much more awesome is that Burton reads it in that nostalgia-stoking Reading Rainbow voice of his. You just can't beat that.

beaverFigures. After they announced the movie everyone is a deadpool fan..

3 Action-Packed Clips from the Live-Action Adaptation of the Anime KITE
beaverwith all the rape in the original I'm amazed this was made...
Three new action-packed clips have surfaced for the live-action feature film adaptation of the anime Kite. It looks like the filmmakers may have done a decent job of bringing this story to the big screen. The movie stars Samuel L. Jackson, India Eisley, Callan McAuliffe, Cleo Rinkwest, Russel Savadier, Keci Eatock, Matthew Van Leeve, and Jaco Muller.
Kite was directed by Ralph Ziman, and the story follows a young orphaned schoolgirl named Sawa, who is living in a failed state, during a time of post-financial collapse, "where the corrupt security force profits on the trafficking of young women. When her father, a cop, is slain by someone dirty inside the force, she vows to track the murderer down with the help of her father’s ex-partner."
The first clip you watch is called "Toys," and it's been labeled a red-band clip, the second is called "Rescue," and the third "Disguise." All of them offer some great adrenaline-fueled footage. The movie will be released on October 10th, 2014.

Our planet just experienced the warmest six-month stretch ever recorded. NASA GISS just announced that the previous month was the warmest September on record and that 2014 is poised to go down as the hottest year humans have ever experienced. Discouragingly, September 2014 saw global surface temperatures that were 0.77 degrees C hotter than the 20th century average.
Creepy Clowns Stalking the Town of Wasco, California
beaveroh boy.
Anyone that has coulrophobia, which is the fear of clowns, may want to stay clear of Wasco, California. Several people are dressing up as clowns and wandering the streets late at night. That just seems insanely creepy to me, and I would legitimately be terrified if I saw a person dressed as a clown walking around at night in a dark ally. Look, nothing good has ever come from clowns, and it's not normal for people to do this unless it's Halloween, or they are at some kind of clown convention, which is an event that you'll never see me at. When clowns start popping up in or around a place that I live, it's time to consider moving. Technically they aren't breaking any laws or doing anything wrong besides trying to scare the shit out of the people who reside in Wasco.

The Legalization of Marijuana Could Reduce Alcoholism
Across the U.S., people are indulging in a drug that is imposing huge costs on themselves and society. It's called alcohol, and its excessive use has led to approximately 88,000 deaths per year. A growing body of research suggests marijuana could lower that number, since people who smoke pot tend to drink less.

GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY Animated Series Test Footage
Marvel announced at New York Comic Con that they have started production on an animated series for Guardians of the Galaxy! News of this first popped up earlier in the year, and it's great to see that it's actually happening. The series is coming to Disney XD in 2015! The announcement came from Jeph Loeb, Marvel's Head of Television, and we even have some cool test footage for you to check out that gives us a good idea of what we can expect from the series.
The series stars Peter Quill, aka Star-Lord, "the brash adventurer who, to save the universe from its greatest threats, joins forces with a quartet of disparate misfits – fan-favorite Rocket Raccoon, a tree-like humanoid named Groot, the enigmatic, expert fighter Gamora and the rough-edged warrior Drax the Destroyer."
This is an opportunity for Marvel to step up and do something awesome with their animation team. They used to do great stuff, but lately things haven't been as good as they used to be. Check out the trailer below, and under that, you will find find some more information from the press release.
"The movie and franchise quickly became a worldwide phenomenon. We're looking forward to working with the great team at Marvel Television to deliver an engaging animated series that fans can enjoy each week," said Marc Buhaj, Senior Vice President, Programming and General Manager, Disney XD.
"This is a very exciting time for the Marvel Animation Studio as we get to explore the cosmic side of the Marvel Universe by developing the first-ever 'Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy' animated series," said Jeph Loeb, Head of Marvel Television. "After starring in the biggest movie of 2014, everyone wants more of Star-Lord and his crew – now they'll get it."
Produced by Marvel Animation, the series' award-winning creative team includes executive producers Alan Fine (Marvel's The Avengers, Iron Man, Thor), Dan Buckley ("Marvel's Avengers Assemble," "Marvel's Hulk and the Agents of S.M.A.S.H."), Joe Quesada ("Marvel's Avengers Assemble") and Jeph Loeb ("Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D."); co-executive producers Stan Lee ("Spider-Man"), Eric Radomski ("Spawn," "Marvel's Avengers Assemble"), Cort Lane ("Marvel’s Ultimate Spider-Man") and Stephen Wacker ("Marvel's Avengers Assemble"); supervising producers Marty Isenberg ("Kaijudo: Rise of the Duel Masters") and Harrison Wilcox ("Marvel's Hulk and the Agents of S.M.A.S.H."); consulting producer Steven Melching ("Marvel's Hulk and the Agents of S.M.A.S.H."); and supervising director Leo Riley ("TRON: Uprising").
DC Movies — JUSTICE LEAGUE Villain Will be Brainiac and SUICIDE SQUAD Movie Lineup
beaverAnd it will be garbage.
Art by Ballo
During the Meet The Movies Press Podcast, El Mayimbe from Latino-Review gave an update on Justice League. The villain will be Brainiac and not the originally rumored Darkseid. The beacon that Superman set off in Man of Steel that brought Zod to earth will also be what brings Brainiac to earth. Darkseid will be the villain in a future Justice League movie, just not the upcoming one. Brainiac makes more sense as Krypton and its once expansive empire have already been established in the DC cineverse.
You can watch the scoop being dropped, the embed should jump to the 30 minute mark.
El Mayimbe also said who will be in the Suicide Squad movie ineup. The team will consist of Blockbuster, Multiplex, Jaculi, and Mindblogger. The leader of the team will be Deadshot, with Harkness and Vixen as co-leads. I'm not a hardcore comic book reader, so the only name I recognize is Deadshot.

Ten 1990s Cartoons You Probably Don't Remember
I recently did a list of 1980s cartoons that I thought a lot of people had forgot about. Our readers really seemed to like it, and I know a lot of our readers grew up in the 1990s, so I thought I'd put together a list of animated series from that decade that you might not remember. We all have our favorites, like Batman: The Animated Series, Animanicas, X-Men, Spawn, and Gargoyles, but there are some cartoons that may have just slipped through the cracks of our minds. Just because these series are on the list doesn't mean they were bad shows. Although some of them definitely were.
Sonic Underground
Not only was this series poorly made, but it had a pretty awful theme song. The story is set in a completely different canon than any of the other Sonic the Hedgehog media. The ruler of Mobius, Queen Aleena, is overthrown by Dr. Robotnik and his robotic armies. Her kids, Sonic, Sonia, and Manic, are hidden for their protection, but they rise up against Robotnik and become the rightful rulers of Mobius once more. The series only lasted one season, and only 40 out of 65 episodes originally aired. I only watched one episode, and it was so bad I never watched it again. This was an embarrassing moment for Sonic the Hedgehog.
Mortal Kombat: Defenders of the Realm
This series was released shortly after the first movie and the video game Mortal Kombat 3 came out. This was a show that I kind of enjoyed watching. It featured six of the game's characters, including Liu Kang, Kitana, Sub-Zero, Jax, Sonya, and Stryker. Together they made up an interdimensional task force trying to maintain balance between the realms. Raiden serves as the team's mentor, and Nightwolf as a computer techie. I think it's funny that they took an insanely violent and bloody game, and turned it into a kids series. That may have hurt the show as well, because all the kids that played Mortal Kombat wanted to see the same level of violence in the show.
The Wacky World of Tex Avery
The Animaniacs wasn't the only crazy and wacky series to come out of the '90s. There was another show called The Wacky World of Tex Avery that was extremely goofy. It had a lot of slapstick style comedy that was a throwback to the "Golden Age" of the Looney Tunes cartoons from the 1930s-1950s, and it was inspired by the style of Looney Tunes director Tex Avery. The only thing was… it wasn't funny at all. It's like they tried way too hard, and it didn't work.
Extreme Ghostbusters
Even back in 1997 Dan Aykroyd and Harold Ramis were trying to make Ghostbusters 3, and this Extreme Ghostbusters series was suppose to be a tie-in to that third movie that still hasn't happened. The series was doomed before it even began, though, as the only characters that returned from the movie were Egon Spengler, Janine Melnitz, and Slimer. Then there were a few younger additions to the team. The show didn't include Peter Venkman, Ray Stanz, Winston Zeddmore, Dana Barrett, or Louis Tully with the exception of a couple episodes. Egon furthered his studies and taught a class on the paranormal at a local college. When ghosts start to reappear, Egon is forced to recruit four students as the new Ghostbusters. This show could have been better than it was. I really dug the animation.
Men in Black: The Series
This show was awesome, and it ran for four seasons, but it's a show that doesn't really pop up in conversations about favorite animated series from the '90s. So just in case you have forgotten about this little gem, I added it to the list. The continuity was different from the films, but it followed the adventures of the main characters, Agent K and Agent J. The animation was fantastic and the stories were very fun and engaging.
Dumb and Dumber: The Animated Series
Yep, the classic Farrelly brothers comedy got its own animated series, which followed the crazy adventures of Harry and Lloyd as they drove around doing anything for money. This was seriously one of the worst things to come out of the '90s. It was utterly pointless, terribly animated, and there was no real plot. The series only had 13 episodes before it was pulled off the air.
Pinky, Elmyra & the Brain
This was an Animaniacs and Tiny Toon Adventures spin-off series that featured Pinky and the Brain as pets of the Tiny Toons character Elmyra, who I thought was one of the most annoying characters on the show. The show was awful, unfunny, and a wasteful use of the two great characters, Pinky and the Brain. I don't know what producer Steven Spielberg and Warner Bros. Animation were thinking when they thought up this piece of crap. It was cancelled after only 13 episodes.
Mighty Ducks
This series was very loosely based on the live action films and NHL team of the same name. The story revolved around a team of humanoid alien ducks from a planet called "Puckworld" that was conveniently icy so they could play hockey all the time. Not only did they play hockey, they also protected their home planet from invaders. This is a series that I never really got into. It just didn't interest me.
Super Dave: Daredevil for Hire
The show was based on comedian Bob Einstein’s character Super Dave Osborne, and it followed Dave, who, along with his assistant Fuji, must save the world from the villainous Slash Hazard. The series was cancelled only after one season, but it actually had some fun and entertaining elements to it and some good humor. Halfway through the show's initial run, voice actor Art Irizawa was asked to modify his voice for Fuji, because of all the complaints that Fox received from Asian-American groups that the character was an offensive stereotype.
Gravedale High
The series was developed as a starring vehicle for Rick Moranis (Ghostbusters, Honey I Shrunk the Kids). He lent his voice to the main character of the series which followed the misadventures of human teacher Max Schneider, who took a job at Gravedale High, which is a school for monsters near the city of Midtown. He presides over a group of ghoulish teenagers that are 1990s teenage versions of classic movie monsters. The series also included the voices of Ricki Lake, Jackie Earle Haley, and Tim Curry. It only had one 13 episode season.
Batman: The Animated Series is coming to a Virtual Reality near you
It seems like everyone's turning to Virtual Reality lately as a marketing promo, the likes of Pacific Rim and Interstellar are the latest to use the tech to plug themselves. Not to be left out, Warner Bros. is joining in by letting people poke around the Batcave - but not just any Batcave. Batman: TAS' Batcave!

Do you have still have some of that salt from yesterday's rumors ? Then pull it back out because word is that Sony may be discussing the possibility of sharing Spider-Man with Marvel, so both companies can make movies starring the webslinger. But here's why you don't need to consider Spidey an Avenger just yet.

First Teaser for Pixar's INSIDE OUT Is Emotion-filled and Charming
beaverSo this is Herman's Head for kids?
I've been intrigued by Pixar's next movie, Inside Out, since I first heard about it, and excited about it since some of the GeekTyrant gang saw some very rough footage and storyboards at D23 last year. Now everyone can finally see how awesome it is going to be in this new teaser that is about 50% clips from previous Pixar movies. Inside Out is set inside the mind of an 11-year-old girl, and the main characters are her emotions — Joy, Sadness, Fear, Anger, and Disgust — so the trailer begins by reminding us of all the times Pixar has made us feel those emotions ourselves. It is so great, but the first time you watch, you are going to get to the point where you think it is entirely made up of old clips and you aren’t going to see anything new. I want to assure you that eventually it will introduce the characters and show a tiny bit of footage. What small amount we see is pretty charming, and I am officially super-stoked for this movie. It is such an inventive concept, and an 11-year-old girl's emotions are going to provide plenty of plot.
Here is the official synopsis:
From the tepuis of South America to a monster-filled metropolis, Academy Award®-winning director Pete Docter has taken audiences to unique and imaginative places. In 2015, he will take us to the most extraordinary location of all – inside the mind of an 11-year-old named Riley.
Growing up can be a bumpy road, and it’s no exception for Riley, who is uprooted from her Midwest life when her father starts a new job in San Francisco. Like all of us, Riley is guided by her emotions – Joy (Amy Poehler), Fear (Bill Hader), Anger (Lewis Black), Disgust (Mindy Kaling) and Sadness (Phyllis Smith).
The emotions live in Headquarters, the control center inside Riley’s mind, where they help advise her through everyday life. As Riley and her emotions struggle to adjust to a new life in San Francisco, turmoil ensues in Headquarters. Although Joy, Riley’s main and most important emotion, tries to keep things positive, the emotions conflict on how best to navigate a new city, house and school.
The “major emotion picture” (adorable!) will be in theaters on June 19, 2015, accompanied by the short “Lava,” which you can peek at here.
Stan Lee Rants about How He Hates Facing Front
beaverI want to have half as much fun as Stan Lee when I turn 200.
In the latest episode of "Stan's Rants" Stan Lee goes of on why he hates to face the front. The Marvel comics legend calls for a "no face the front of an elevator" movement. One of the arguments he makes is that he wants to know who he's going to die with if the elevator crashes. The rant is hilariously absurd. It's always fun to watch old people complain about things, and Lee is one of the most upbeat and lively old people around. I've been enjoying this little web-series. Some of his previous rants include superhero ice cream bars, long movie credits, and 3D movies. Enjoy the rants of Lee!
