Why Choose Goa for Yoga Teacher Training?
There are numerous Yoga Teacher Training Centres (YTTC) in Goa offering various sets of courses tailor-made for your need and goals. As the name indicates “Yoga teacher training”, the basic goal of the course is to develop “you” as a yoga teacher who is learned and gains perfection in teaching the art of yoga so that this can be spread in your neighborhood and the community in general. The YTTC allows you to sharpen your teaching skills and also enrich you as a storehouse of yoga.
Various centres have variable rates and are operative between October and May. It is a fact that getting trained in Yoga comes down to spending a good sum on gaining the actual training. When compared to the price of a typical weekend or part-time programme in US & Europe, the average cost for a YTT in US/Europe is $3,000 for a 200-hr programme which does not include accommodations or food. Even when compared to Asian retreats in Bali, Goa-India offers the same training at less than half the price which becomes a big plus for those who choose to make Goa their base. Some retreats in Goa which run a 100-hr (roughly 2 weeks) YTT charge $900 while a 200-hr programme comes at $ 1400! Which is quite cheap when compared with the rest of the world.
Besides, cost – which is always a determining factor for YTT – Goa remains a favourite destination for people who want to avail training in this peaceful and fun-loving state of India. Goa always guarantees a relaxed paradise of sun, sea, and yoga and helps connect with the elements in a natural way. Yoga teacher training Goa provides people with an opportunity to both cultivate and connect with the philosophy of yoga and to reach out and be a part of a network of yogis from all around the world as this can be achieved with the kind of environ this coastal state provides.
In a nutshell Goa is more preferred for YTT for the following reasons:
Cheapest YTT cost-wise with affordable and cheaper courses when compared to Thailand, Bali, Europe or the US
Accommodation is also cheaper as schools/ashrams/retreats are located in the proximity of beaches or greener canopy which helps you to stay connected with nature all the while
Goa offers lots of options to choose various Yoga Schools and Retreats as per your budget
Vegetarian food at various joints and retreats is also available which is good for learners
And without language barrier as people can speak fluent English and other foreign languages besides the local dialects and Hindi.

Things to remember when choosing the Yoga School for Teacher Training.
If you’re looking to strengthen your own Yoga practice while learning more about yogic philosophy or have a great passion and desire to teach others and pass on the knowledge then time’s ripe that you enroll for a yoga teacher training programme.
However, there is a bit of homework you need to undertake before joining a Yoga TT school so that you come out with flying colours and also the right know-how on the subject.
Here’s a point-wise guide on things you need to keep in mind before choosing a Yoga School for teacher training program:
Ensure that your training is Yoga Alliance-Certified: If you plan to teach yoga at some point in your future life it is always vital that you undergo training at a Yoga school that is certified by the Yoga Alliance or else you may tend to lose out on qualifying for insurance. As the international governing body for yoga, the Yoga Alliance sets high standards to ensure that various Yoga schools construct their teacher training programme on the prescribed modules.
Plan a schedule that suits your work-style: Finalise on what your priorities in life are. Do you want to focus on your daily chores and slip into yoga sessions in the evenings or weekend or take a total break from your daily routine and hibernate into a distant school that totally delinks you from the world over a certain period of time where only learning yoga becomes your No1 objective!
Focus on how the school teaches anatomy: Anatomy is the crux of Yoga TT programme. A thorough know-how of the subject will help you understand the dynamics of your own body and how it relates to various yogic techniques. After all, the whole concept is hinged around the physical and spiritual aspects of life.
Do a study on the programme history: This is a very important factor in choosing which school you want to join. Just because a programme is certified by the Yoga Alliance doesn’t mean it is the best. A lot matters on the quality of expertise the instructors’ offer which is the basis of delivering a strong and effective programme.
Go through the course syllabus to weigh the pros and cons: Courses are designed in terms of hours, viz, 100hr or 200hr or 300hr programmes. Check the course material thoroughly so that you invest your energy and time in learning the right thing.
Do some research on instructors: It’s important who your teachers are, the experience they carry and what reputation they hold. After all quality teaching produces quality students.
Conclusion: Whether your objective in life is to get transformed into a skilled yoga teacher or just gain the knowledge of yoga for the pure aesthetics of it, the best yoga teacher training courses in India or Goa can definitely guide you towards favorable outcomes after you successfully complete the course. There is a guarantee that you shall become a humble human being armed with the knowledge of yoga and that you will be possessed with powers to enlighten the society, in general, about the various virtues and powers of Yoga.

*Cost of tattooing in Goa:
Tattoo cost depends on the artwork, its complexity and the skill of the artist. On average, in Goa, most studios charge their clients anywhere between ₹3,000 to ₹10,000 for a 2-4 inch tattoo. This is a general guideline as prices may vary depending on various factors.
(Kindly note that most tattoo studios in Goa have not revealed the exact price of tattooing on their websites as it depends on the size and complexity of the design. Most importantly the price varies from artist to artist as his skill and artistry become the defining factor and also the experience counts. So it all comes down to the artist and the type of body tattoo one wants to be engraved on his/her body.)
Top-10 Things to know before choosing tattooists
Tattooing is not a child’s play. It’s a process of getting your body (or areas of it) inked with a design permanently. Therefore, care must be taken to weigh the pros and cons of the practice of getting your body tattooed, for the simple reason that your own body is on the line. There are several aspects that you might have to consider before getting inked as this practice is directly linked to your safety and hygiene. So it is worth paying attention to a few important things before you decide to get tattooed.
Good research: This is a very very important step. Tattooing is like buying any service or goods. One wouldn’t buy garbage from the market for any price, isn’t it? Therefore, thorough online research of a tattoo studio is essential before you make a decision to get tattooed from that place. Later on you should not regret for having burnt your fingers. So best is to get a bit obsessive about going through the portfolios before taking the next step.
Don’t price shop: Do not visit a tattoo parlour or a studio preempting about the price of getting tattooed. Good things don’t come cheap and cheap things are not good. That’s the cliché one probably needs to understand as the tattoo isn’t something that’ll stay on your body just for a night. It’s there for a lifetime and will go to the grave with you.
Check out the guy who runs the business: Remember it is the artist in the parlour who shapes your tattoo and it is his skill that decides the final outcome. Therefore, go with your gut feeling that the person who will draw a tattoo will do a good job. It is also important that you strike the right chord with the tattooer and also check out on the cleanliness of the studio. It’s important to know about the tattooer’s past work as well.
Choose the right design: Tattooing is like some insignia carved on your body that lasts permanently. Ensure you mean what you want to convey through a tattoo. Think well before you decide the theme and ensure that it doesn’t get you in trouble. It goes without saying that your tattoo shouldn’t force you to regret. Avoid designs that might be socially unacceptable or could ruin lives. Pick something that conveys a personal meaning or something that’s beautiful.
Don’t go drunk: There’s not much of an explanation needed here. It’s self-explanatory. Would you deal with a drunken person on a normal course? So why will someone tattoo you if you aren’t sane? It applies everywhere.
Eat something before you go: Tattooing takes a while. It’s all about being patient and watching your body being tattooed and this can take some time, long enough to give you hunger pangs. So carry a candy or chocolate bar with you or eat a good meal before you get ready to be inked.
Don’t come in with a posse: Avoid getting a group of friends along with you in a tattoo shop as this adds to the commotion of the place. It’s like too many cooks spoil the broth. Be firm on what design you want. Advice from everywhere can even confuse the artist and you might end up getting something undesirable on your body. Do it all by yourself and strike the right rapport with the tattooer.
Be sure of what you want: Do not get into a shop with a cluttered mind. Be clear of what design you want and where exactly on your body should it fit in. Also, be clear on the size and shape. Once everything is sorted out, give it a go-ahead. This is important as the tattoo artist will first put a transfer of the tattoo on your body before actually proceeding with the needle and ink.
Tattooing hurts! Accept this! Getting tattooed means it is definitely going to hurt. But, it depends on your capacity and mindset as to how you endure the pain. After all, it is the needles poking your skin deeply and quickly.
Pay artist tip: Remember your tattoo is a result of your own extensive research. It is you who chose to visit a parlour of your choice and picked an artist you trusted in. So when the artist has given you the best tattoo possible remember to tip him at least 20% in cash only. It’s always cash. So ensure you’ve carried enough cash before entering a tattoo parlour.
Ink you body with the latest and trending tattoos at Goa’s top tattoo studios and parlors and pamper yourself by flaunting the best of messages and designs to express your thoughts. Let your skin speak forever through your imaginative designs.
