Family Feud Canada contestant goes viral after not knowing Popeye's favourite food

by Like an unmade bed.

Contestants were asked what Popeye's favourite food was
-Eve said chicken, thinking of Popeye's Chicken, the restaurant
-She didn't know it was in reference to Popeye the Sailor Man, who loved his spinach
-The clip went viral because of how she says "chicken" and her confident shimmy (and maybe because younger generations only know of the chicken place?)

Popeye's gifted her with $10,000 worth of food because of this.

Airbnb Turns Into House of Stinky Nightmares

Guy rents an airbnb and the plumbing backs up horribly, forcing everyone to leave | r/tifu Posted by DicksOut4Paul TIFU by trusting some rando on Airbnb L Shit River 2K19 have thousand words explain all transpired with Our Dear Friend Paul August 3rd August 4th, 2019. Let spin tale tale Shit River.

What was going to be a fun Airbnb weekend turned into what basically ended up as a stay in a haunted house except all the ghosts are shit. We've had underwhelming vacations but few of them culminated in an evacuation over the great Pississippi. Sounds bad. And in classic timeline-style recounting! For more gross stuff, here's twitter's reaction to a bull semen explosion.

Today, I got back from a two-day trip for which I'd left my husband and kids at home. There's fresh vomit inside of my oven, and my 4 year old son has a mullet. FML

Trent Reznor thinks you devalue music by not paying for it

by Courtney

Nine Inch Nails frontman, Trent Reznor, is no stranger to putting his foot in his mouth and whinging about the state of the music industry these days so it's no surprise that he recently spoke to Billboard about his concerns. According to no-neck Nancy the current generations demand for free music (either by mediums of streaming or youtube) devalues music and that paying for music is a "relic of an era gone by".

The Source thinks you should pay for your music.

ONTD... does anyone still pay for music anymore?

October 19, 2014: Toronto – Day #1!

by Joseph Mallozzi

Our first night in Toronto was, in a word, “horrible”.  The bed is too small, it’s too hard, and the curtains are insufficient and, in parts, non-existent so that the street lights (and, at approximately 2:30 a.m., the flashing police lights) streaming in to our bedroom made sleep almost impossible.  ALMOST impossible because I was so exhausted I could have fallen asleep – if it wasn’t for Jelly’s crying keeping me up. Eventually, I had to set her down behind the bed to shield from the light so that she eventually dozen off – at just after 3:00 a.m. – only to wake up with the sun.  Of course.

Today, we were off in search of tape and black material so that we could create our own blackout curtains.  And also some winter coats.  And boots.  It’s cold!  4 degrees celsius/39 fahrenheit.  WTF?  Toronto was actually warmer than Vancouver – until yesterday when the temperature suddenly dropped to near freezing – coincidentally, on the day of our arrival!  The fates continue to conspire against me.

C-c-c-c-c-cold!

Thanks to everyone that offered advice on dealing with Bubba’s separation anxiety.  The problem has sort of sorted itself out for the time being.  The poor little guy has howled himself hoarse and now just squawks -

On the bright side, a full day in and the eating has been good.  For lunch, pork belly buns at Banh Mi Boys -

And then back to Buca for a thank-you dine with Jeff -

Hand-cut blood pasta. I was honestly leery, but it was delicious.

Jessica Chastain: "My Dress Could Have Fit Five Pranksters"

by ballsmazig

Chastain was not fazed as she joined her co-stars for the The Disappearance of Eleanor Rigby: Them, which is part of the official Cannes festival.
“I could fit five Ukrainian journalists in my dress,” Chastain told USA TODAY before taking to the red carpet.
Chastain has a special place in her heart for the glamorous Cannes carpet. She considers her first trip up the famous stairs three years ago for The Tree of Life her first true carpet experience.
“It was really scary at first, but now I love it,” said Chastain. “It feels like a second home to me, this festival.”
She took special care to choose her blue Versace gown to reflect the Cannes spirit. “It was inspired by dresses of the 1950s but made with a modern edge,” she said.

Peaches Geldof passes away at age 25

by Strumpet

TV presenter Peaches Geldof, second daughter of musician Bob Geldof and Paula Yates, has died aged 25.

Police say they were called to an address near Wrotham, Kent following a report of concern for the welfare of a woman on Monday afternoon.

The woman, aged 25, was later pronounced dead by South East Coast Ambulance Service.

"At this stage, the death is being treated as unexplained and sudden," said a statement from Kent Police.

Born in 1989, Peaches Honeyblossom Geldof embarked on a media career at the age of 15, when she began writing a column for Elle magazine.

She left home at sixteen and went on to contribute to the Telegraph and the Guardian, and presented TV shows including ITV2's OMG! with Peaches Geldof.

She also worked as a model and, just last week, attended a launch for Tesco's F&F clothing range in London.

She was married to musician Thomas Cohen, with whom she had two sons, Astala, one, and Phaedra, who will turn one on 24 April.

'Numb'

Geldof lost her own mother when she was just 11 years old. Paula Yates died of a drug overdose in September 2000.

Speaking to Elle Magazine in 2013, Peaches said she had not come to terms with Yates's death for several years.

"I remember the day my mother died, and it's still hard to talk about it. I just blocked it out. I went to school the next day because my father's mentality was 'keep calm and carry on'," she said.

"So we all went to school and tried to act as if nothing had happened. But it had happened. I didn't grieve. I didn't cry at her funeral. I couldn't express anything because I was just numb to it all. I didn't start grieving for my mother properly until I was maybe 16."

Geldof said she had experimented with drugs as a teenager, but was "never that wild".

She was previously married to rock musician Max Drummey but the pair separated in 2009 after a six-month marriage.

Her last tweet, posted on Sunday was a picture of her as a baby in her mother's arms.

She leaves her husband and sons; father Bob Geldof; sisters Fifi Trixibelle and Pixie; and younger half-sister, Tiger Lily Hutchence Geldof.
